Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Avery had been very focused on not falling and dragging anyone else down with her that for a moment it didn't register that he had indeed steadied her. As he had first demanded that she move out of his way, she had half expected him to shrug her off immediately, but she had remained standing, hand still clutching his arm. Her brown eyes met his blue and she smiled. "Thank you." She was still utterly covered in a mess and as her eyes glanced over him she realized that he too seemed to have some contents of something spilled on him. Perhaps she wasn't the only unlucky person here today. "Can I buy you lunch?" Hand still on his arm, albeit more softer, she posed the offer knowing very well that lunch was free of course.
Another bit dropped off of her and Avery wondered what her best course of action would be. She could attempt to make her way to the trash bin, removing what physical contents still remained on her, or she could take herself outside and do the same. Her only concern was that the whole area around her was slippery and slick, the ground covered in food and liquid. Before she could do anything though, a boy moved towards her, all but growling at her to move out of his way. The smile faltered into a grimace as she tried to do just that, "Okay, sorry." Unfortunately, the moment she did try to move out of his way, her foot slipped. Avery grabbed his arm on instinct, trying to stay balanced. "Sorry!" A small yelp coming from her lips as the floor turned into a very messy skating rink.
Avery walked into the mess hall. Or rather, she had a few moments ago. Before she had gotten caught up in a conversation with one of her bunk-mates. The minutes ticked by and she wrapped up her conversation, finally beginning to move towards the designated Greek tables. Only to have a tray of food fly over her head, emptying the contents on top of her. Brown eyes widened in surprise, her mouth forming a perfect O as she took stock of exactly what had happened. No one else seemed to be moving around or flinging food so either she was in the worst food-fight in the history of mankind or someone was having a very bad day. She held her arms out as food dripped from them, a bit of something falling to the floor with a thud. "I said dining in, not to go." The dumb joke slipping out of her lips as she gave a small laugh.
Avery was following every motion that he made as he shook his head, waving away the idea of turning himself into a human statue. She had given him a sad puppy-dog pout, her eyes wide and large before he seemed to have changed his mind. Before her very eyes he shifted into the personification of Roman leadership and strength as he flexed and moved into perfect form. She grinned widely, hands pressing together for a short clap as he got into position, his face serious and battle-ready. She gave a dramatic bow, "We're not worthy." She stood up, palm pressed to her heart as she chuckled lightly, "That was perfect."
Espen's form dropped the statuesque pose and she couldn't have wiped the grin off of her face if she had wanted to. He went back to assisting her in her task and she did the same. She listened to him silently as he spoke of camp. Three? Only three days? She thought that was an insane amount of time to build a whole camp but she had seen the Romans do things that she had never would have thought possible before so what did she know? "Three? What took you guys so long?" She glanced over with a grin still on her face at the obvious joke. Turning back to polishing, she sprayed one of the helmets, cleaning off the grime.
Once the row of helmets was completed she moved to where he was, gathering up the arrows. She took extra care to ensure none of the pointed parts came near her. She wasn't moving quickly or anything of the sort, but they looked sharp enough for that not to matter. She began carefully assembling them together and grouping them by their matching colors. She assumed the various colors meant something, not that she could even begin to imagine what.
Avery listened quietly, nodding when he spoke about not being from anywhere in particular. She looked curiously over at him. "Was that hard?" She didn't mind moving around. She liked being in new places and meeting new people. She thrived on it. Other people weren't always like her though.
He asked about where she was from, mentioning New York and she nodded. "Yeah, that was where camp was based, but I grew up near Boston." She didn't pause in her work, moving along the row, sorting the arrows as she continued speaking. "We traveled a lot though. My dad was a marine biologist with Boston University so we were always in new places all the time." Her voice never wavered, nor got sad. She missed her father of course, there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't think of him, but she never was one to dwell on the sad parts of life. "There was this small little seafood restaurant off the Keys that made the BEST fish tacos. I swear, I've dreamed of them." She grinned, moving the last of the arrows. "How about you? Any favorite places I can add to my bucket list?"
Avery had made herself at home at Camp Jupiter. It was, of course, vastly different than Camp Half-Blood but that didn't mean it was terrible. She had no problem with the new place. They had given herself and her camp-mates a safe temporary home and for that she would never be able to find a fault in them. At least nothing that she couldn't overlook. There were even things that this new place had that were well above what they had at Camp Half-Blood. Like an entire swimming pool and beautiful gardens. Places of unique beauty that always drew her in. She wasn't exactly the type that could always be quiet, thoughtful, and relaxed but she did have her moments.
She had been having one of those moments yesterday, visiting the gardens, when she had met a nice girl from Camp Jupiter. The two had talked about the pretty flowers and it was during that small chat when the other girl mentioned that she should check out the aviary. Avery had then made a joke referencing her name and the place and oddly enough, it was then that the girl had to leave. Leaving Avery to plan a trip to see the place for herself.
So she made her way there today, as soon as she had gotten done with her work. She had visited a few aviaries with her dad but that had been ages ago. She had been just a small kid, happily bouncing around from area to area. She hadn't paid much attention nor actually soaked it all in.
She slowly made her way to the large building and marveled for a moment over how huge it actually was. She had hoped to see hummingbirds and maybe an owl or two. The building was so large though that she currently found herself wondering exactly what kind of feathered creatures they were storing inside. Never to balk from danger though, she walked in.
The place was just as large on the inside as it was on the outside. She found herself passing door to hallway then another door. Before she knew it, she walked through one door and stepped out into a large airy area as the door shut behind her. There were trees, bushes and large rocks and nothing made her feel as if she was in the right place.
Avery tried pulling the door, but it wouldn't budge. Her lips quirked to the side in thought before turning around and looking for another exit. It was then that she realized she wasn't alone. Four giant eagles occupied the space she was in, their sharp eyes watching her.
Avery made a small yelp before going very, very still. She had never seen an eagle this close and their massive size did nothing to help the fear that had made its way into her chest. "Hi…don't mind me. I'm just going to move over here okay? Your home is very lovely." She took one step forward and one of the massive animals shrieked, causing her to freeze and cover her ears. "Okay. No problem. I can stay very still if you guys promise to do the same." Taking her hands off of her ears and holding them up to show she was un-armed, she gave the birds an awkward smile and she tried looking around for an exit or anyone or anything that could possibly help.
The boy gave her a quick and charming reply and she inclined her head slightly with a bright grin. He was nice to be with. He was clearly someone who knew his way around sweet nothings and she knew she was probably dealing with Camp Jupiter's biggest flirt but she couldn't find it in her to move from him. He was funny and although she had never been the kind of girl who fell for charming words, they did make a grin stay on her lips.
He waved away the idea of enemies and she was again, pleased as could be that she had chosen him for her fake boyfriend. A soft sigh left her lips as she smiled, "I knew I picked a good one. My pretend boyfriend radar is functioning flawlessly." She pretended to brush a bit of dust off of her shoulders. "Almost as flawless as you clearly are." She was grinning brightly, the words had come out light and with clear humor, rolling with the easiness that had been going back and forth between them.
He spoke further, insinuating that she had no enemies and she laughed, "I think you'd be surprised. It turns out that my special brand of humor isn't exactly one a lot of people understand." Half of the time people thought that she was making fun of them and then the other half of the time they seemed to think of her as too immature or childish and both of those tended to end with someone disliking her. "As flattering and fitting as your knight in shining armor offer is, I think I'd keep you much too busy."
Isaak held his elbow out to her and she slipped her arm in the crook. Another smooth set of lines came out of his lips and Avery laughed lightly. He wasn't lying about being charming. It was a thousand wonders that he wasn't constantly surrounded by a gaggle of girls. "Hmm. I just might. Though, I couldn't promise of course." She gave an exaggerated look of self-importance before she replied, "I clearly have a reputation as a heartbreaker to keep up." She held the look for just a moment more before slipping back into her playful grin. She was obviously not, in any way, shape, nor form a heartbreaker. Avery could count on one hand the number of romantic relationships that she had. Not to mention the fact that they had made their acquaintance from her needing a pretend one.
She and Isaak began walking in step and she was utterly thankful that he hadn't paused at her slight slip. He bowed to her and she did a curtsy in response while keeping her arm linked in his. He then asked for her last name and Avery inclined her head to him, "Barringer."
She walked in step with him. Her eyes glancing forward, moving here and there as they passed the barracks and mess hall. Their camp was so much larger than Camp Half-Blood. She didn't know how long it would take for her to familiarize herself with the vastness of it all, but it wouldn’t be a short time. She was hopeless with directions. "So, which cohort do you belong to? That's how you guys sort yourselves right?" She looked over curiously at him. It seemed like an odd way to be grouped but who was she to judge?
NOTES ; They already exchanged names so I figured he could be asking about her last name lol
Avery found herself returning the Roman boy's grin. She was pleasantly pleased that he wasn't at all what some of the other kids in her camp had made them out to be. Not that he was the all-encompassing representative of his camp or anything like that. He was nice though and was actually helping her, which was more than she could say of a few of her own camp-mates. Affirming the belief that people were people and could not be sorted and made to fit into pre-affixed boxes.
Avery commented about the poetry and she found herself grinning yet again as he commented about the Roman tendency to avoid poetry. When he mentioned that it was more of a Greek thing she laughed lightly before replying, "Ah, touché. You have me there. Hmmm." She tapped her finger against her chin in thought for a moment before her eyes widened as the idea came to her. "A statue then!" She turned to him, "Show me your best warrior pose. Go on, I know you have one." She was beaming of course, a bright smile on her lips as she watched him. So far he had seem to roll with her randomness and humor, she hoped he wouldn't disappoint, though she knew that some people weren't as comfortable as she was when it came to making a fool of themselves. Not that she expected a silly pose. He could pull out something serious of course, but somehow she didn't see that one happening.
Avery had just gotten the helmet on when she turned to face him, their eyes meeting at the most perfectly arranged time. Hers caught in the act of being mischievous and his in surprise at said random act. He began laughing, a genuine and honest deep laugh that caused her to grin in return. The grin spreading into a full once again beaming smile as he all but doubled over with laughter. A pleased feeling came over her as she watched him recuperate. She liked making people laugh. Her camp wasn't the easiest when it came to her antics and making them smile. It was nice being around someone who seemed to at least get her humor.
Avery moved her attention back to the weapons that he had arranged for her, moving down the list as she sprayed and wiped until the grime was off of them. She fell into step with him, following behind his organization and pick-up as she cleaned. When he spoke about marching and drills Avery gave a small grimace. She couldn't imagine doing that every single morning, day in and day out. He glanced over, assuring her that she would get used to it and she nodded, the action causing the helmet to dip lower than she intended. Avery balanced the cleaning supplies as she righted the large thing before replying with a bit of positivity. "Rome wasn't built in a day right?" She gave a small grin before turning back to her work.
It would be hard. There was no question about that, but there wasn't another alternative. This is what her new camp required and although she was going to fail, quite possibly in every aspect until she left the place, she would at least try to do what they demanded of her. It was the least she could do and she didn't mind putting in the work. She wasn't necessarily lazy, she was just utterly uncoordinated and the clear opposite of strong. So it would take time and patience which she just to happened to have in abundance.
He gave her his name, "Nice to meet you." Avery nodded, again forgetting that the helmet was on her head. Righting it once more, she turned back to her task. "So where are you from?" The whole job was much quicker with his help. What could possibly have taken her hours upon hours, he had accomplished in mere minutes. Not that her job was done. Still, he had cut her task at least in half already and he had been pleasant company, she couldn't have asked for more.
He mentioned her wearing her newly acquired headpiece into a war game and she gave a small chuckle, "Is that like your version of capture the flag?" She asked, glancing over at him. Not that it truly mattered. She wasn't exactly the person that her camp relied on. Though, she had never donned a cool looking helmet during her games so who knew what possibilities this new one brought.
Avery nodded, pleased that her magnificent lineage also caused recognition in the other girl. She was slightly concerned that perhaps the other girl might not have known of her incredible genealogy but thankfully she did, so all was well. Avery moved her hand in a way that acknowledged the other girl, like two noblewomen recognizing the other. The other girl then looked her up and down, shaking her head and Avery thought that was quite rude. Sure she could have dressed more fitting but she hadn't known she would be battling royalty. She would have dressed better for such an occasion. "Sure. I suppose. If you are so…inclined as well and what have you. Though I admit, I am far behind your magnificents." Did that make sense? She thought so.
The other girl looked positively in her element as she faced Avery. She spoke boldly of wielding a knife and Avery giggled, "Please don't kill me." It was a fair sentiment. She surely meant it. She wasn't of sound mind enough to beg the other girl to take it easy on her. To relay that she was perhaps not entirely in her senses, but alas all she could offer was the giggly plea. The other girl commented about her own prowess and Avery stopped, raising the helmet off her head just a bit so she could smile appreciatively, "I don't know man. Not me but like…I could totally give you some practice?" She shrugged, the helmet rattling back down against her head. She moved to the nearest weapon's hold. Realizing that she didn't have a weapon at all in her hands. "What…uh." Her eyes scanned the wall. "What do you recommend?"
The girl swayed in place, or perhaps Avery was the one who was swaying. She couldn't be certain. The girl moved forward and Avery was then completely certain that she had made a grave mistake. The girl grabbed a weapon off the wall and twirled it in her hands as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Avery could only watch as the blade spun around faster than her eyes could track. The girl then began to list off her lineage and Avery felt her brain physically begin to get fuzzy trying to follow the long list of words that sounded super important. Avery bowed, "Nice to meet you Iseult, daughter of the Bellona and master champion of Rome." Avery straightened up, putting a hand to her heart. "I am Avery Barringer. Daughter of a marine biologist and also Mercury and with the Greeks of the….Greek Barracks." She bowed again, slightly stumbling forward.
She righted herself, forcing the helmet to remain steady on her. It was much larger than she had anticipated, but it was also too cool to take off. The other girl radiated pure badassery, she could only hold tight to the helmet and hope that some of it rubbed off. "So. Want to spar?" She could think of a million things more logically sound than offering to spar with a Roman, but it seemed like a fun idea at the time. She then bounced on the balls of her feet, trying to warm up. "Should we like…rock, paper, scissors to see who charges first?"
Avery should have known better than to drink something that was handed to her by one of her siblings. She truly should have known better. But alas, she had been happy to partake in the revelry. Happy to enjoy a moment of happiness with all of her half siblings instead of the tense fighting that had been gripping the camp as of late. She hated all of the fighting. She hated all of the tense drama. It felt as if everyone was on the edge of war and just looking for an excuse to fight. So she had accepted the drink and drank it down.
A few moments later she then found herself absolutely giddy. There was a flush on her cheeks and a slight sway to her steps. Not that she cared. She didn't care about much at the moment. Excluding a very fancy Roman helmet that had begun calling her name. She had made her way out of the party, heading towards the fighting arena. Avery had found the helmet right off the bat, sliding it onto her head. She then grabbed a sword from the wall, giving her best impression of a roman warrior. Her beautiful masterpiece of fighting was cut short though as a clattering sound gave way near her. Avery jumped a good few feet to the side, being almost unable to see out the front of the helmet. She looked around for the voice of the person, holding her hand to steady the helmet as she spoke, giving her best intimidating voice before erupting into giggles, "You'reroman property."
Avery was grinning as she kissed the boy softly on his cheek. He was cute, and she could tell that he very much knew it. It was clear in the way he confidently smiled. The way he held himself. He wasn't too full of himself though. At least, she didn't think so just from her first impressions. She had dealt with plenty of vain demigods before and he didn't strike her as one.
She found herself trying to figure out his godly parent. Not that it mattered in any sense other than curiosity. Though, the she supposed it would be helpful to know if she was dealing with a half-sibling or not. Half-cousin? She wasn't sure exactly what kind of demigod family connection that would be between Greek and Roman demigods from the same but not exactly the same parent. It was enough to make a small headache form.
Avery smiled brightly, the boy giving a hair flip to keep his unruly locks out of his face. "Nice to meet you." She had then brought up the theatrics of breaking up and was genuinely surprised as he posed another option of an actual date. She wasn't exactly the most experienced person in the realm of dating. She had a few crushes that never went anywhere. She had even gone on a few dates, but boys tended to either find her personality too immature or annoying to go farther than those few dates.
She just wasn't the kind of girl who took things like normal people always seemed to. She didn't like being upset or sad. She didn't like to focus on the bad things that could happen or dwell on past mistakes. She liked being in the present and the now. She had a grin still on her face as she replied a little coyly, "I thought we were supposed to be enemies?"
He gave her another self-assured grin and she laughed lightly. "Are you always so charming or am I just catching you on a good day?" She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear while she waited on his response. Yes, if she had to wager a bet, she would bank on Aphrodite or rather, Venus. Though he could fit in well with Apollo too. He had rolled well enough with her little charade. Perhaps he was an actor in the making.
Avery peeked behind him one more time and once she was convinced that they were indeed gone she linked her arm back in his. "Can I get a glimpse of the gardens? I haven't seen anything that sounds so gorgeous since I've arrived. Not that your camp isn't beautiful of course." She made a slightly awkward face as she recovered, hoping he wouldn't take any offense to what she said.
Avery had rattled on, unaware that she had actually been rattling on. A little thing she tended to do. She didn't want to talk over anyone of course, but she had found that most people were not as extroverted as she was. So, it sometimes helped when she was the first to initiate conversation. Sometimes that made people relax and feel comfortable enough to respond and sometimes it made the people who didn't want to talk but who didn't exactly hate her presence relax enough to smile or laugh.
She had dragged the sword for giants as close as she could and the boy had laughed before moving towards her, easily picking up the thing. Avery grinned, "Well, someone ate their Wheaties this morning."
He commented that she would be a tank in no time and Avery laughed lightly, "Absolutely. The greatest warrior your camp has ever seen. There will be sonnets written about me." She still had a grin on her face as she picked up the nearest helmet. It was a big thing, and had a plume of red sticking out of it like the mane of a very fashionable horse that had gotten electrocuted or something. She ran her hands over the plume before putting the helmet on. It was as heavy as it was large, but using two hands she could maneuver it well enough to see properly out of it.
The boy guessed her punishment correctly and Avery tried to nod, the action with the helmet on not exactly working in her favor. "You got it. I didn't realize that you guys actually have to show up for the stuff you're assigned to. We always looked at our schedules like a list of suggestions." Avery picked up another small dagger looking thing and put it on a small hook on the wall. She had to admit that the more she wore the cool helmet, the cooler she felt.
He began speaking and Avery picked up the next smallest dagger, pretending to jump forward and use it against an invisible opponent. "Ha!" He very kindly offered to help and she gave him a grateful smile as she paused in her attempts at murdering a ghost, "Thank you. If you're sure you don't mind?"
She put the dagger up and moved towards the door where she had first come in, picking up a spray bottle and a clean folded towel. She walked over to where he was sorting and picking up weapons. She began with the spears first, spraying them down before beginning to wipe the dirt and grime off. "My name is Avery by the way."
With the spray bottle still in her hands she drew it like it was a gun in an old-timey western movie, spraying another spear down. "I get why you guys like these things." She twirled the bottle in her hands, ala western cowboy again. "I'd wear this bad boy everywhere if I were you."
Avery had always been the type who leapt without checking to see if there was a solid landing zone first. A trait that had surprisingly served her well. On the rare occasion when she had listened to her gut and it hadn't ended well, she had simply chalked it up to experience and moved on. As she slipped her hand around the boy's elbow, she waited to see if she would indeed fly or fall. She had whispered the plea and as if on cue, he turned into her knight in shining armor. Success! He gave her an easy smile, removing his arm from her grasp and wrapping it around her shoulders.
Avery tried very hard not to giggle at the sheer showmanship that he immediately jumped into action with. She leaned her head into his embrace with a grin, "Ah, my hero" just low enough for him and him alone to hear. The boy ushered her forward and away, causing a sigh of relief to come out of her lips. She thanked whatever gods that had been listening that he had been the one to answer her plea and not someone who might have shunned her. Though she supposed if she had been rejected she could perhaps play off a breakup. Fake crying with proper theatrics in the streets of Camp Jupiter seemed like a better alternative than facing a Roman with a sword.
They rounded the corner and the boy withdrew his arm from her, moving away respectfully. No sooner had he moved from her though, he suggested a kiss to cement the charade. Avery laughed lightly at the boldness, thinking that if she'd have to guess, he might be a son of Aphrodite. Or rather, Venus. He had charm to spare. "Deal." She leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before grinning brightly. "Thank you for playing along, I really do appreciate it. You saved me back there."
She peeked over his shoulder, pleased that she couldn't spot any of the campers from either side who had been pestering her. Putting her attention back to him, extending her hand out, "I'm Avery. Nice to meet you pretend boyfriend." She then put one hand in her pockets, the other tapping her chin in thought as she proposed a question to him. "So, was this an amicable breakup or did you shatter my heart into oblivion?" She said the last part with a hint of dramatics, placing her hand over her heart, head turning to the side, giving her best Oscar-winning performance.
Avery turned to her half-sibling with an amused grin on her face as she listened to him speaking. As he said that Legionnaires were not smart, Avery's mouth dropped open in shock. He had said the sentiment quite loudly, where any Roman walking by could have heard and she very much did not want to save him from a fight today. Plus she didn't agree with it of course. She nudged him again, "Hey, be nice. I've met some really nice Romans. I don't think they're as bad as what everyone thinks." Which was true. She had met a very nice girl who had shown her around the place and then a very sweet boy who had actually helped her during cleaning duty. Sure there were also a few who looked at her like nothing would please them more than to smash her face in, but so far that hadn't happened. So she remained judgement free, ever the optimist.
Avery was grinning until the conversation moved to swords. "Nope. No. No. No." She said it with a laugh, listening on as he continued to hatch a plan that seemed utterly destined to explode in their faces. She put on a face of consideration, tapping her finger to her chin as she listened. As he concluded she nodded, trying to muster as serious a face as she could, "Ah yes. That master plan. I remember it well now." She raised an eyebrow, "I believe the agreed upon terms were 60/40 respectively correct?" It was a gamble to joke with anyone from the Hermes cabin about things like this. There was truly never any way of knowing if they were kidding or not. She felt at least in this scenario however that she could trust Erik not to get them all thrown out or imprisoned. Did Camp Jupiter have a prison? She decided she didn't want to find out.
Erik, out of the blue, began asking about her dating someone and she laid back on the soft grass, laughing. She wasn't exactly experienced in that particular arena. That on top of the fact that she had currently been forced to relocate her home of four years, dating wasn't exactly on top of her to-do list. Of course if she had set her eyes on someone, no one from her cabin would ever hear word of it from her. They were a mischievous lot to begin with, when it came to teasing one another about their dating life, nothing nor anyone was safe. "Not at all. I think you have me confused with someone else." The giggling had shifted to an amused grin as she looked over at him, shielding the sun from her eyes as she spoke. "Why do you ask? Is there someone special you want to talk about? I promise I won't tell." She held up her pinky.
Avery was trying to think very quickly on her feet. She could pretend that the orange had been commissioned by Camp Jupiter to promote unity, though that could backfire horribly. She could also go the route of acting completely shocked as to why they were orange, though she wasn't a very good actress. As someone opened the door, she decided to abandon all hope and simply face punishment.
A very large and clearly Roman boy stepped into the space and Avery's eyes widened, looking very much like a deer caught in headlights. Her mouth parted slightly as she expected him to begin shouting at her or perhaps drag her to their Praetors to face punishment. Instead, thankfully, he began laughing.
Avery remained still, almost not believing that he was genuinely laughing. As her senses registered that he indeed was laughing in humor and not in a yay I get to murder a Greek way she gave a relieved smile. He looked around and asked if she needed a hand and Avery shook her head, gesturing as if that was a crazy thought, "Whaaaat. Nah, I clearly have this all under control. Very in my element right now."
She grinned, moving forward to get the spear from his hand. He brought up the color of the spears and she was quick to reply, "I honestly didn't mean to. This isn't some weird attempt at rebelling or something. Sometimes I just change things and I can't really control it and I can't un-do whatever happens and I was holding them and it just kind of…happened." She gave an awkward shrug not sure if he was going to believe her. She couldn't blame him of course. And it didn't help that she couldn't replicate the action to prove it.
He moved forward, picking up the spears and she pursed her lips a moment before replying, "Thank you but you really don't have to help. I know what I'm about to say makes the situation much more suspect, but I'm actually being punished." She moved to pick up one of the larger swords that was taking up space. She couldn't lift it though, giving up after a small grunt. Instead she picked up the hilt as best as she could, all but dragging the heavy sword in a half squatting position as she moved backwards, struggling with it "Come on sword, aaaaalmost there." She got the sword at least out of the way from the middle of the room, giving a celebratory first pump with her arm and hand. A big grin on her face as she turned to him, "See? I can totally do this. I'm gonna have muscles for days." She gave an obligatory flex of her non-existent muscles.
