Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Avery gave her half-brother a quite exaggerated suspicious look as he began to defend his suggestion that she was older. She had her doubts but honestly didn't care enough about the matter to argue it. As he wrapped up his defense, she gave him a big grin, touching her hand to her heart in a gesture of appreciation. "Aw. That's so sweet. I've always wanted to be someone's acquiesced burden." The grin remained on her face as she watched the structured chaos going on. She had no actual interest in the, perhaps, shady dealings of the boy but it was all amusing to watch.
"Sorry to disappoint you. Maybe I can ask one of those Centurions over there, I'm sure they'd be happy to help." She gave him a teasing grin. She of course would never willingly betray her brother's extra-curricular activities, but it was fun to jest. Her warning was met with a grin and a smile that was everything but innocent as Erik began speaking. He truly did have a certain way with words. She was absolutely beaming, enjoying his little profession of innocence. She grinned, "Whatever would we do without you and your self-less commitment to keeping the fun alive?"
Avery followed his gaze, watching as the Romans ended up with their underwear over their heads. She stifled a giggle. She hated to laugh at anyone's expense of course, but things had been so serious lately. It was nice feeling like she was back at home again. Surrounded by her prank-loving siblings, the challenge of her day deciding which activity to participate in. She missed those days, they hadn't realized how lucky they had all had it.
He sat down next to her and Avery watched him, listening with a grin as he spoke about their beloved chariot. As he mentioned taking them next year she made a face, "I hope we won't be here next year. I don't know if I could even survive a year here. Though I'm sure you're fitting in perfectly?" She asked with a mischievous tone, if today's activities were any indication she imagined he'd be tossed out of camp by the end of the week. Another thought came to her and she shrugged, "Maybe we can host the Olympics on our turf. Show them there's more to life than training." She couldn't actually picture the stern Romans at Camp Half-Blood or rather, what had been the camp.
Avery was enjoying the Olympics. It was hard not to. There were so much going on, so many things to watch and see and do. It was like being in a demigod's version of Disneyworld. That was, of course, unless you were participating in the events which she most definitely was not. She knew her limits much better than that thank you very much. She had no interest in fighting for glory, though the promise of a delicious dessert was a little harder to pass up. Still, she would take her chances on getting a meager after dinner snack if it meant she didn't have to get knocked around a fighting ring.
So she had spent the day mainly bouncing around from one event to another. Cheering teams on during the chariot races and the spear throwing events. She didn't like watching the hand-to-hand combat all that much, too much blood for her liking. Though the combat with weapons wasn't too hard to stomach. Most of those rounds ended without too much spilled blood, which seemed odd to her but she wasn't complaining. She had been on her way to the next event when a familiar voice called her over. Avery gave a grin as she made her way to her half-brother who, in perfect Hermes form, had created his own gambling ring at the Olympics. On Roman soil nonetheless.
She nudged him with her elbow playfully. "Big sis? We're the same age." She watched him as he shuffled and moved around money quicker than she could follow. She shook her head, a soft laugh coming out of her lips, "Can't help you there. I grew up on the outside yo." She gave a randomly generic sign that was supposed to mimic a street gang with a purse of her lips before laughing. "You know our cabin leader is right around the corner right? I don't think even you could get out of explaining all of this away." She watched as more money came, some leaving. She gave an amused sigh before sitting down on the ground, leaning back on her hands while she watched him. "Didn't feel like competing yourself? I thought for sure you and some of our other siblings would have a decked out chariot."
Avery knew that the moment one of her siblings began arguing with a Roman camper from Mars that she should have left. She knew it. She had felt it. She never was very good around confrontations or arguing. She hated yelling matches and fights were the worst. She truly knew that she should have left, but she hadn't wanted to leave her half-sibling. So she had stood by awkwardly, in the pathways in front of the barracks, trying to make both sides laugh or at the very least calm down which hadn't worked. So she had basically been useless as the two began arguing about who would win or who was better than whom, she honestly hadn't been paying much attention until she heard her name.
"Avery can beat you. Swords."
Avery shook her head, a nervous laugh coming out of her lips, "Oh, no. no. no. He's kidding." The Mars camper glared at her while Avery shook her head again. "No really. I can't. I'm...allergic." The camper sized her up and her sibling began talking again. Avery resisted the urge to shake him. "I've never held a sword in my life. Honestly." She shrugged off the notion as her sibling tried urging her forward. Avery slipped out of his grasp and began walking backwards, an apologetic look on her face, "I'm actually meeting someone. My boyfriend actually. He's SUPER protective. So...no sword fighting today." Her sibling gave her a skeptical look which matched the narrowed eyes that the Romans had and Avery wasn't sure if she was supposed to feel offended or not. The Roman took a step towards her and Avery glanced around, "Oh see. There he is."
She pointed to the first male person that her eyes fell upon and did a small victory dance in her head as the other Roman boy paused. "Yep. Got to go, but maybe next time." She turned quickly on her heel and closed the distance between herself and the boy, wrapping her arm in the crook of his, "I know you don't know me, but I need a pretend boyfriend right now and if you'll just walk with me around this corner I promise I'll leave you alone." The words came out quickly and she hoped he'd play along with the charade. Avery glanced over her shoulder, seeing if they bought the ruse.
Avery had missed her training class. To be fair, she hadn't known that she was required to actually go. In Camp Half-Blood the classes were more of a voluntary thing. There was no set strict curriculum or schedule that demanded participation. She spent most of her days helping new campers adjust, making art or sometimes if she was feeling especially lucky, creating crafts. She helped in the pegasus stables and in general she simply followed whatever whim she had that day. It was a system that she had not appreciated. She hadn’t realized how much that she had truly taken for granted. Here they were not only given a strict schedule and expected to follow it, but they were also punished if they didn't follow through. A fact that she was learning first-hand today.
She was assigned to clean the weapons in the Armory. A task that she hadn't really thought too much of. It didn't seem like a terribly awful thing to be assigned with. On the way to where she was instructed that it was, she began envisioning helmets all lined up in a row, one quick spray of Lysol and she'd be done. Perhaps she'd have to do a bit of sweeping? She could do that, she assured herself as she walked into the building. Two girls in purple shirts gave her an odd look as they walked past and she shrugged as if to say, 'I know, me being here is weird right?' At least in this case common ground wasn't too hard to find.
Avery walked towards the door marked Equipment and stopped as she opened it. To call it a mess would have been a disservice to all messes that had previously come forward. This place looked as if a tornado had come through. Then an earthquake. Perhaps after that some children tossed around a few things before another tornado came through. Did they truly use all of this equipment every day? She wondered to herself. She took a deep breath before shaking off the shock, tilting her head to the left and right as she murmured to herself, "Okay. You can do this." She gave a curt nod and decided to jump right in, grabbing the spears first.
There were about fifteen on the floor and she could just barely get them all in her arms, baby-stepping with them in tow to where their space was marked on the wall. She was within a foot of the area when she looked down and noticed that all fifteen had turned to Camp Half-Blood orange. Avery's eyes widened as she moved to immediately put them against the wall and out of her grasp, the spears of course sliding and slipping back into a large, bright orange pile on the floor. Panic had just struck as she heard the equipment door opening. Avery turned, red-cheeked to face the door, her foot trying to kick the bright orange sticks out of sight as she called out, "Uhm sorry. Scheduled maintenance. Please come back later."
Avery wasn't exactly fitting in seamlessly in this new camp. She smiled a lot, which ironically enough was frowned upon. She had no issues walking up to strangers and introducing herself, which was apparently an odd thing here. She avoided training like the plague, which seemed to be their favorite thing in all of the world to do. She wasn't exactly finding it easy to figure out, but she didn't mind the learning process. It was something new. She missed her old camp of course. Nothing and nowhere could ever replace that but being in a new place had its own unique advantages. There was something nice about the pure newness of it all. So she had continued to be herself and let the chips fall as they may.
Today had been a nice one so far. She had managed to sit out for an entire training session without having to pick up one thing. The key to that had been to ask lots and lots of questions. She didn't know whether the instructor was flattered by them or genuinely thought that she had never handled a bow and arrow in her life. She was fine with either one. She had nothing to prove. Despite having been around bows and arrows for five years she had genuine questions as to what they had instructed her to do. They stood differently than Camp Half-Blood campers did. The arrows were shaped oddly. The targets were completely different. It hadn't been a hard reach to find the questions. They had served their purpose though and she happily went on to her next assignment without having to fire one, her next assignment being lunch.
The brunette daughter of Hermes walked in, giving a smile to a passing Roman girl who looked at her in return as if she had three heads. Avery didn't mind of course. Inside she went, stopping only briefly to glance around to where the Greek kids sat. Her eyes scanned over the few who she saw before landing on a familiar blonde. Avery smiled brightly before making her way to Scarlett, sitting down across from her. "Mind if I join you?"
"Ooh I know! Let's start a band!" Cue rapping "My name is Avery and I'm Greek yo Got the coolest cabin that you've ever seen befo Y'all should check our killer moves and just maybe we can beef up your hella lacking navy"
Avery is one of those people who what you see is what you get. She tends to wear her emotions on her sleeve, and when she is happy she is clearly happy. When she is sad or mad it's blatantly clear as well. She does not safeguard her emotions or feelings, choosing to care and love for others without worry or pause whether it's asked for or not. She tends to always keep a positive outlook on everything. She is a very hard person to make angry, she can quite easily overlook a lot of rudeness and anger from others without it bothering her in the slightest. Though, if someone hurts her family she has an angry side that is best left alone. She is an empathetic person and is very caring even towards complete strangers. She's eager to make friends and will do her best to get strangers to open up to her. She enjoys singing and can usually be found humming or singing out a tune while cleaning around the cabin. She favors the arts and crafts and camaraderie side of camp instead of the harsh training side. She hates training and will go to whatever lengths necessary to avoid doing it. She does like to rough house with her siblings occasionally though and loves them with her whole heart. She is very loyal, and would go to the ends of the earth to help those who she loves.[break]

Mother - Catherine (Vitalis) Barringer [break] Biological Father - Hermes [break] Adopted Father - Jaymes Barringer [break] Brother - Zephyr Vitalis Claimed. Has attended camp for 4 years[break] [break]
Catherine Vitalis was a single mother raising her demigod child Zephyr the best way that she knew how. The woman had known who the boy's father was and exactly what he was. The boy's childhood confirming it all with striking clarity. Around the time that the boy was seven, he was getting into trouble more and more frequently. It was also around this time that Catherine met a human man named Jaymes Barringer who worked in the Marine Biology department at Boston University. He was an avid ancient Greek history buff, handsome, and kind to everyone he met. Avery's mother had been working at the University as a translator and the two hit it off immediately. The courtship and marriage happened in a mere one year's time and before the ink was dry on the marriage certificate, Catherine was pregnant with Avery. She had thought that the child was James's. Everyone thought the child was his. Avery was a happy baby, a trait that would carry on throughout her childhood and beyond. Her mother couldn't ignore the things that had surrounded her son. The people who wanted to harm him. The unexplained things that happened. Avery was completely different. [break][break]Avery rarely got upset. She didn't seem to see things that weren't there. Looking back now, one could say it was more than likely due to the fact that Avery rarely sat still long enough. Or perhaps that she never cared to look for scary things around her to notice the things that were always lurking. She didn't see the bad things both mortal and non did in the world. She was bubbly and bright. She liked meeting new people and ceaselessly wanted to spend as much time as possible with her older brother who was away more often than not. On the whole, she had a very shielded life. Until she turned 15. [break][break] Avery had gone with her father to check out a collection of swords that he had purchased from a fellow collector online. They had pulled up to the residence and her father and the stranger immediately began speaking. Avery had kept her hands in her pockets as she walked along the table that held beautiful blades, a strange urge to hold one suddenly gripping her. She had moved to it, her fingers touching the blade that was practically begging for her to pick it up. She had turned to ask her dad if he knew anything about it when the woman who he had been talking to changed into something from a nightmare. [break][break]The creature had been a harpy in disguise, hoping to make a meal of the demigod. Avery's father had ran towards her but the creature grabbed him with deadly talons, causing him to yell out in pain before she shoved him out of her way where he ceased to move again. Avery screamed, her hands moving immediately to shield her face from the creature. Instead of cowering like she had planned to do, her arm reacted instantly, her muscles extending the blade forward to the creature. She was much too slow to actually hit it, but it had been enough for the creature to retreat. Circling her, Avery held her shaking arm out, the blade pointing at the monster. The harpy dived again and Avery blocked the outstretched talon that had been meant for her face immediately. The creature hissed in pain as the blade made contact. Again the creature lunged and again Avery blocked the blow as natural as she was breathing. She didn't know why or how she knew what to do, but didn't have time to think about it. The creature shrieked and Avery had began shaking so badly that she dropped the weapon, the monster lunging for her. Avery closed her eyes, but the blow never came. [break][break] Avery opened her eyes and before her stood not the creature, but a figure in an ethereal glow. He dusted off his suit, presumably from the dead creature dust that had landed, and told her who he was. Avery had ran to the man who she had called father for her entire life but he was no longer in the land of the living. One snap of Hermes's fingers and Avery and her father were both back in their family home. Her mother had screamed before she began crying, Avery with tears that matched hers. Hermes told Catherine that Avery was his child. That he had deceived her one night and the man who she had thought she had made another life form with was not actually Avery's father. He told her what she already knew, where to send the girl. Numbly Avery held out her hand as Hermes put a silver bracelet in the palm of her hand. As she closed her fist around it, the bracelet turned into the sword that she had wielded. Catherine never was the same. Her mother sent her away immediately, calling her brother to take her to camp. [break][break] Along the way Zephyr told her all that he could of the camp and what her life would look like now. She mourned her father and forever would, but she also knew he would want her to live her life. To be the girl who he had known, who he had raised. Despite her godly parentage. She was claimed upon entry at camp and though she wrote to her mother weekly, the woman told her not to visit and after a year the letters to her stopped coming altogether. So Avery turned camp into her new home and that was that. She had been at camp for four years before it was destroyed. Her brother hadn't been there and she hadn't been able to reach him so on she went to the Roman camp.
Avery's main power is swordsmanship. She has a superhuman natural ability to wield a blade. The reflexes and moves come up instinctively. She can almost sense what her opponent is about to do, her body reacting accordingly as if it was created exactly and solely for that purpose. On the rare side when she's been forced to handle the blade she has won. Every time. The downside is that she refuses to use it. She quite literally would rather someone pummel her into the ground than actually use her gift. At all. [break][break]
Her minor power is transfiguration. Which sounds very impressive, but alas, it is not. She can't exactly turn something into something else at will. She sometimes can't even turn something else into another something else with lots of practice and concentration. No, that would be too easy. This power seems to happen randomly and at the will of the power itself. She could be touching her brother's hat and it might accidentally turn pink. She could be holding a flower and it might turn to a rock. It happens on occasions that are very few and far between and when it does she quite literally has no control over it. [break]
[weapons] She has a delicate silver bracelet that she's had a small Boston University charm placed on that turns into a celestial bronze sword when placed and held in the middle of her palm.
