Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

No matter how many times Nathan had gone onto a wrestling mat or walked out into the Ludus to fight another camper, he was nervous. It wasn’t from a lack of confidence, more the tension that builds up in one before battle. He could only imagine he would be like this in a real live war. However, as it was he was entering a non-lethal contest of hand-to-hand combat skill. Nathan many people had their own ways of dealing with the build up tension they felt. Some whistled, some had a pet with them. Personally he stretched. So far it seemed to work, because his whole body felt supple and limber right now.
Meadow comment broke his meditative revere, causing him to glance down at where she sat. “Don’t know…never seen him fight before” he said simply. He wasn’t about to judge someone on how they looked, if he hadn’t seen them fight before. That was just stupid… His eyes turned to the son of Mars she was talking about. “Yeah…he’ll be a tough opponent- it something that bred into him and his siblings. Problem is, it makes him overconfident and that’s where he’ll make mistakes”. And Nathan would take advantage of it in a second. Failing that…Nathan would just do his best to wear the guy down with his superior stamina and hopefully, pick the guy apart. That was the plan anyway…
Meadow wasn’t wrong. Both the fighters competing at that moment were good. Nether was showing signs of exhaustion or injury and both were exploiting the others’ weaknesses. One was definitely not a striker, but he was certainly good at tackling. He already was applying a nasty looking submission hold on his opponent who wasn’t making it easy for him. “Yeah they are…good match I gotta say” Nathan admitted as he watched it all going down. ”Oh thanks for the vote of confidence Star Fish” he chuckled. Having a laugh was also a good way to relieve tension too. “Let’s not decide the match before it even starts, huh? Besides…I am pretty sure I can take him. Just take a little smart thinking on my part”. Yes it would- a son of a god of war was going to be a big challenge to a son of a god of wine….

Nathan didn't just train himself when he came here. He also trained others- or rather as the case was that day, another. In Fourth Cohorts barracks was a smaller kid who was being constantly picked on for being so small. Nathan had noticed this and it didn't sit right with him. No sir- it did not. He also knew he couldn't do much about this. For one thing, it was a Forth Cohort matter and by rights the older kids should have stop it- or at least their Centurion should have. Being a Roman was hard- even brutal at times and the kid had to learn to toughen up if he was to survive. Also if he did intervene, the kid would just get it worse when he wasn't around. That would not do at all...
Therefore, he had to do something about it in secret. And he did. One day during a field exercise Third and Fourth Cohort were both on, Nathan had spoken to the kid in private. Not an easy thing to do- for one thing Nathan towered over the kid, was older than him, which naturally made him a little scary to smaller kid. Nathan's smile and what he had to say eventually won the kid over. He liked the idea of being taught to wrestle, so he could hold his own in his barrack room. Yes, he was smaller than Nathan, but there were a couple of other kids that Nathan coached closer to his size. It wasn't easy for the kid- but he took the bumps and bruises in his stride. What was more, he made a couple of friends. Nathan heard the other day that a couple of them had cornered one of the barrack bullies and threatened to stick a ferret down his leg if he messed with Max again. He wasn't sure if that was going to work, but at least he knew that Max had a couple of little buddies watching his back.
Nathan had just finished teaching Max a couple of new holds and throws, letting him practice on him, and was heading back to his barracks, when he noticed someone. It was a girl he hadn't seen around camp before. Was she one of the newly arrived Greeks? He didn't k"now. It seemed like he was lost in here and had no idea what she was to. Not everyone he knew in camp worked out. That was fine. Some people had no need to. But often someone would come in here to work out and not know what the first thing to do was. On occasions it often fell to one of the regulars in there to help them, if one of the trainers weren't around. "Hey...you ah, lost or are you just looking for someone?" the son of Bacchus asked, hoping he could help her.

It wasn't even a question- Nathan was entering the Hand to Hand event at the Camp Olympics. As soon as the Camp Olympics events were announced, he was pretty sure at least a dozen pair of eyes (at least) swiveled in his direction. Nathan knew he wold have to sign up for it, since everyone knew that it was 'his event' at that sort of thing. Ever since he was twelve years old, he had a natural gift/talent as a wrestler- in Greco-Roman style wrestling (of course). Whenever he could he practiced with other Roman campers in the Palestrae in Camp Jupiter with other campers. In fact he had even started training some of the smaller younger ones as well. That was cool. Nathan enjoyed seeing them getting better at it as they trained more and more, well as gain more confidence in themselves.
On thing about the event did trouble Nathan though... "They might as well called it what it really is" he lamented in his head as he warmed up for his first match of the event. "It should be called the 'Pankration' event" he thought. Not that it really mattered to Nathan. He just didn't like the idea of being kicked in the head is all. Well...you live and learn. Life with out awkward challenges was a boring life. Besides- get kicked in the head (or anywhere else) and you learn real fast not to get kicked again. The match going on in front of him had been going a long time- longer than he expected it to. The two fighters were pretty good and Nathan was not opposed to going up against either of them, regardless of whichever one won the match. Rolling his shoulders to loosen up and moved about to warm up- his match was up next and he wanted to be ready. The kid he was up against was a Nemesis kid and Nathan knew these kids always had a good sense of balance- it would be hard to take this kid off balance in their match. So Nathan really had to reach deep into his 'bag of tricks' and come up with a strategy to deal with that.
"Oh really?" the son of Bacchus said raising his eyebrows at what he was just told, "I guess you can't judge a book by its cover". There were a few of his siblings who weren't as into parting as he was (strangely enough). They were content with enjoying music and just chilling out by themselves, as opposed to partying with others. That was fine- everyone was different.
To Nathan's mind Aurora was warming up to the idea of the party. He had no idea how long it would work for- someone people get bored after a while. Question was: how long could he keep her interested? Even more- why should it be his job? He pondered that thought as he took a sip of his grape juice. Because he actually liked her. She was pretty- there was doubt about it, and he wanted to get to know her better. As a representative of the Greek kids coming into camp, she was doing a pretty good job of getting him to take a positive view on them. As it was, she was doing a good job of making a friend among the Romans with Nathan... "Just stating the truth..." he smiled from behind his goblet.
Passing her the glass of punch, he said "Hope so...not that I was the one that made it". In all honestly he had no idea who made the punch actually, but figured it was one of his siblings, not his barrack mates. "Good to know..." he said with a smile, 'If you have any problems or anyone causes you any problems- let me know" he advised. One level Nathan was saying that to be friendly, on another he felt he said it because he felt that if anyone messed with Aurora around here, he would...displeased. He couldn't figure the reason for it. Which was weird. He knew why he felt the way about everything. That was the reason he didn't notice how close he and Aurora were standing since he handed her the drink.

Well...when all was said and done, it was NOT a Centurion sitting there. If there was, he might have got a response from this stranger, that was suspicion to say the least. Sure...he was a son of Bacchus and therefore it was expected that he might just be here. It was a place related to his father, so he obviously would be here sooner or later.
It was entirely possible that Stella had indeed seen Nathan around camp. As a son of Bacchus, it was emtirely possible he would have been at (or more accurately responsible for) a party that they both many have been at. Also, it was possible that she may have seen him heading past her barracks to his own- he was pretty tall and there were few guys as athletically muscled as him. For his part, he might well have seen her as well around camp...
"A good place to relax and chill out..." he said with a smile. Nathan knew a few campers came here to relax and chill out for whatever reason. It was a nice place to not only hide secret grapevines, but also to chill out- by oneself or with someone else. On occasion he had sneaked in there with a pretty girl and made out with them. However today was not one of those days as he wandered over the fountain and filled his water jug.

“Ah…” Nathan nodded sagely. From what he had been told and what he had learned off the few Greek kids he knew and what he had been told, they had both reasons to and not to, party. Dionysus kids didn’t need a reason- that was their nature, like their Roman counterparts. Others it wasn’t too easy to read. Maybe that was the way it was it was supposed to be- people/demigods were different. “Totally understand” the son of Bacchus said, “Different kids have different ways of partying. FYI- NEVER party with Pluto kids- oh…Hades kid, they are soooo depressing” he warned her.
Who knew how Nathan would react to a girl he liked. Some were friendly to him and others he wanted to bed. When all was said and done, he was a party boy son of Bacchus, not a son of Cupid or Eros. End of the day, he was all about everyone enjoying the party he was at- this being one of those times.
His toffee brown eyes followed Aurora’s fingers when she ran them through her dark hair calmly. On a certain level he thought he might like her to run her fingers through his dense wavy raven black hair. Nathan would admit it- he liked making out with pretty girls- Aurora certainly being one of them in his opinion. However right now he just wanted a pretty girl he had just meet, enjoy her time at a party that MAYBE, she wasn’t initially enjoying. More than once Nathan had been wrong about his first time impressions of people.
So what gave Aurora away as a daughter of Aurora? Nathan had to think about that for a split second. Oh Hades- he was a son of Bacchus…everyone thought he was a part-boy, so why deny it? “The fact you are really pretty…” he answered. Well it was true. At least from Nathan’s point of view. She was really pretty and he liked being around her. In truth he had no idea if Aphrodite kids were the same as Venus kids. Come to think about it, he had no idea if he was the same as Dionysus kids.
‘Oh my Lord…” he thought to himself, “she had really, really pretty eyes”. Nathan was drawn to her pretty eyes that seemed to hold him in a trance like state. “Fruit punch it is” he said reaching for the serving spoon in the bowl. "Good choice…I hear we used fresh mint leaves in it”. Truth be told, he hadn’t been party to the prep of the fruit punch, but he was aware of what was in it. That said, he had no idea if the punch had been spiked by some child of Mercury. Whatever the truth of the matter, Nathan wanted Aurora to enjoy herself that night.
Handing her the drink he had poured for her, he asked “So…how have you found Camp Jupiter so far?’. It was a legitimate question to ask her, since he did want her to enjoy her time in Camp Jupiter. If any girl was giving her the ‘evils’ for being with Nathan, he wasn’t noticing it. All his attention was directed towards Aurora and Aurora alone. He took yet another sip from his goblet of grape juice.

“Sure thing- thanks…” the son of Bacchus smiled when told that Aelin would drop the books off to his barracks later. It was a good thing that Roman campers did things to help each other. Maybe it was just his opinion, but often Centurions tended to browbeat and harangue new campers a little too much. Sometimes it seemed much more effective for older, more experienced legionnaires to mentor new legionnaires. Certainly he had done that himself. In his barracks, he often took it upon himself to inspect a new kid’s equipment was in order before going on parade. On the training field it was often Nathan who taught kids on how to build field fortifications. Sometimes he was astounded how many kid didn’t know how to use a shovel without breaking the handle. Maybe that was the sign that he might make a good Centurion in the future. Whatever the future held for him, some of the younger campers looked up to him if not with awe, than with respect…kind of.
“It’s a start…” Nathan said when Aelin suggested she bring a book to use on the treadmill, “Certainly it would stop you getting too bored on the treadmill at least and help you to pass the time- maybe even forget how much time you are spending working out” he suggested. Working out wasn’t for everyone. Nathan knew that and knew that not every Roman camper would be on the battlefield in a war. There would be Actuarius who made the food they ate, Medicus who would be fixing up the wounded, whilst the Agrimensor decided where the forts were to be built. Obvious he would in the front lines, but that didn’t mean everyone had to be.
Nathan chuckled. “Don’t worry- you will do something wrong sooner or later” he said. “Centurions will always find something to bust you on if they want or they think you need to learn some lesson. Best to take it—get it over with and move on”. Truth be told Nathan had his fair share of punishment details that he had endured and then just got on with his life…until the next time he did something irk his Centurion. Now days it wasn’t so often- either he was becoming more disciplined and ‘getting with the program’ or he was just more crafty about what he got up to…or maybe the Centurions were just turning a blind eye and hoping he would ‘self-discipline’ himself.
“Alright then…” he said when told that they had arrived at Aelin’s destination, “See you later” he said as he took his leave from her.

Oh yes…the Garden of Bacchus was an excellent place for one to meet secretly with someone who took one’s fancy. For the last hour he and a daughter of Venus had been making out in a more secluded part of the garden. There was…something about each other that had invigorated both of them. They had flirted with each other, as was their natures and arranged to meet in the Garden of Bacchus. In the shade of a tree with dropping branches, they had kissed and ignored the time that past whilst they attended to each other. Taking their time their hands explored each other’s bodies that lay beneath the clothing that they had on and did not take off (even though Nathan was pretty sure that she wanted his shirt off).
All things come to an end- good things even more quicker. Eventually the moment came when he and the daughter of Venus had to part. He didn’t know if they would ever get together again. Who knew when Camp Jupiter would be attacked and he would be called to battle. Not the greatest fighter in camp (there were children of Mars who could set him on his gluteus maximus any day of the week), he was still one of the strongest in camp and had the muscles to prove it (another reason that the daughter of Venus had chosen to spend time with him). Still smiling blissfully for his encounter he wandered through the gardens. Were the birds always singing so sweetly and the flowers so colorful as they were today? Or was he still in a state of relaxed bliss from his meeting with the daughter of Venus? Whatever the truth, he was smiling as he walked along.
Therefore he was surprised to encounter someone else in the garden suddenly. That was the problem with shrubs- they hide people quite well until you walk around the side of them. Needless to say, he was surprised when he encountered someone he didn’t know sitting on a white stone bench. “Oh…hi” he said as he blinked out of his day dream of bliss.

Where better to be for a son of Bacchus, than the Garden of Bacchus?
Naturally that was where we find Nathan today. One of the great personality failings of Nathan was (among other things) his seemingly eternal desire to get hold of wine. To that end, it necessitated the use of a grapevine- something he was well acquainted with. This overriding desire interfered with his ambition to be an Aquilifer. More than once he had been collared by his Centurion for trying to grow a grapevine (just because they were a Centurion, didn’t mean they didn’t know what grapevines were for). So he had been secretly (as best as one could keep a secret in Camp Jupiter) growing a grapevine within the Garden of Bacchus (in the hope that he could invoke his father’s protection). So far the grapevine was growing as best it could for a plant that small.
Luckily for Nathan he had little else to do that day. His Centurion was pleased with the turn out for his Cohort’s barrack at the last inspection, so given him and his cohort some time off. Nathan had chosen to sneak off to his father’s garden to check up on the grapevine sapling that he had sequested there secretly.
He was pretty sure that no Centurion knew of his grapevine. If they didn’t know- sucks be to being them for not doing their job. To Nathan’s mind if you wanted to be a Centurion, you had to be as wily as the most work-shy legionnaire, since by right you had to know all the sly skiver’s tricks. Grapevines aside, there was much in the Garden of Bacchus he enjoyed. The flowers and shrubs that grew there seemed lush and lively- just like his father’s nature. Indeed, on occasion when he was there in the past he had noticed that it seemed the sort of place a child of Venus- or himself, could enjoy a sunny afternoon with someone they wanted to spend time with.
The grapevine would need water as well as the attention of the one who secretly planted it there months ago. It took more than careful weeding and kind words to make a grapevine grow strong and viral. True, he could have used the powers granted him by the virtue of being a son of Bacchus to make the grapevine grow strong, but Nathan wanted the grapevine to grow of its own accord. Some how it seemed natural to him. To that end he grabbed the water jug he left near to it and went to draw water from the fountain of Bacchus. Somehow it occurred to him that water drawn from there would have beneficial to the growth of the vine. Wandering to the fountain, the last thing he expected was to encounter someone else at the fountain. “Oh…” he said when he saw there was someone else there, “Hi…didn’t expect to see someone else here”. It was true- he hadn’t.

People needed their time to feel relaxed. It would be arrogant to expect everyone to arrive at a party- especially this one, all relaxed. Nathan figured that at least one person here was probably dreading the moment when a Centurion would kick the barrack’s door open and catch everyone in the act. Was this all worth risking? Nathan thought so. Sometimes a little excitement was what you needed to make life so much more exciting…
”Really?” Nathan asked cocking his head and taking a sip of his grape juice, “I thought you Greek guys partied the same as us- or even more”. Not everything he heard about the Greek kids was true it seemed. Oh yes, he knew about the past battles and skirmishes between the two camps, he had heard about since he was at Lupus House. But surely, not all of it was true? Aurora’s kind warm smile made him smile in turn- she was changing. Before she seemed to be stand-offish an not certain if she wanted to be here, now she was getting into the spirit of the party. That was good- Nathan wanted her to enjoy herself.
Aurora had a laugh that sound like small ringing bells to Nathan. He liked the way she sounded when she laughed and her smile only complimented the reaction he had to her. Yes, she was attractive to his eye and he did want to spend more time with her at this party and get to know her better. Some kids in camp who knew him would say that by now he sound be trying to flirt with her, like he did with other girls he took a liking to. Again, the stereotype was further from the truth. Right now he was just concerned with making some who hadn’t seemed to be happy to be there, enjoy themselves that night. ”Daughter of Aphrodite…well, I should have guessed” he said approvingly. A little of his flirty side leak through there, before he got a handle of it and went back to being the good host of this party. Just for a second, he looked into her eyes as if to seek out the true person inside of Aurora. To his mind, her playful smirk suggested to him that there was a fun loving person inside of her, who was having problems getting to the surface.
”Sure thing…” he said when Aurora asked him to show her to the drinks table. More party goers had arrived since they started talking, so there were a few people milling around the floor as Nathan lead her across the barracks to the drinks table. The table had a selection of drinks- fruit punch, homemade lemon bottles, grape juice (obviously!) and orange juice. There were neat rows of glasses as well, ready to be used. Next to it was a table with snacks to accompany the drinks, if the party goers so wanted. “What would you like?” Nathan asked, offering to pour her a drink personally. It was the least he could do.

"Yeah..." Nathan agreed, "It does take a lot of practice. I mean, anything you want to be good at- or not totally suck at, take practice". He knew this was true because as a Roman demigod, he was constantly being drilled or made to practice this or that skill. Because of this, Nathan was pretty sure that in a actual fight, one Roman demigod could take three Greek kids any day of the week. Whether this was true, he wasn't in a hurry to find out. Aelin's offer seemed a good one and not one to be passed up on if he was smart enough. "I would like that" he nodded, "Anything to get my head around it all" the son of Bacchus said.
Greek kids in Camp Jupiter... Nathan was pretty much aware that some of the other Roman kids in camp did not like this. He had heard dark grumblings about them even in his own barracks room when they were all together. For his part, Nathan wasn't too sure what he felt about it all. On one hand he was a good Roman kid. That was not even in question, despite the fact he was like his father. Discipline and honor was almost literally woven into his DNA and they were values he lived by (even if it didn't seem that way sometimes). Greek kids were like that, they seemed a little...scatterbrained at times. That was probably totally unfair of him to think that, but he couldn't help being who he was. Then again- the Greek kids did make thing interesting around camp. "Noo...." he said in a long tone, "Getting the Centurions hacking mad at you is NOT the way to go, if you want to avoid getting in trouble with them". Nathan was pretty sure his Centurion had him on a choke-chain now days, waiting for him to step out of line even an inch, so they could give it a 'jerk' and being him back into line. It was amazing how effective extra pack drill was as a corrective teaching point...
Nathan had to chuckle at Aelin's understatement about him being into fitness. He was a virtual Adonis with a body covered in lean athletic muscles that made him look like a teenage gladiator at times. "Yeah...." he smiled, "I am. Pretty important if you are going to train as hard as we do or build field fortifications every time we go into the field". It also helped him be the success he was as a wrestler (in and out of camp) and was definitely a bonus when he was flirting with pretty girls and holding their attention for a long time. "Its something I like doing and am pretty good at' he said. "There you go- you're easily bored when you are working out" the son of Bacchus concluded. "I think if you found something you enjoyed doing and made it into a work out of some kind, you could probably enjoy working out" he said. Nathan wasn't sure if that was possible, but it seemed a pretty good idea to try out.
"Second year huh? I remember my second year here- spent a lot of it being the Centurion's chew-toy because I was screwing up all the time. Helped that I finally had an ambition that has kept me- most of the time, on the straight and narrow" he said. "All you can do is try and do your best- if you obsess about it more than that, you'll end up as crazy as a loon" the son of Bacchus advised. Being such, he was used to dealing with issues related to craziness. He thought for a moment on the question Aelin posed him. "Keep the other guy at long range with your pilum and if all else fails- stick close to someone bigger than you" he said at last.
Oh yes. Nathan certainly picked up on how beautiful the Greek girl he had just meet was. Some might say that he was by nature a 'connoisseur' of pretty girls in camp. Certainly he was beginning to appreciate the Greek ones that were appearing in camp now days. They were a....novelty, that he was beginning to quietly appreciate. Lat thing he wanted was to tread on the toes of any aspiring son of Dionysus. Oh no- that would not do and would certainly ruin a fine party... Still- Nathan was enjoying the opportunity to 'bask' in the radiance of Aurora's innate beauty
The son of Bacchus spread his arms wide in answer to her question. "What you see here- people getting together to enjoy themselves, get to know each other and just chill out" he said. The party had pretty much started, so Aurora was among the first to arrive and had the power to influence aura of the event of she so chose to. If things went well, some of the Greek kids would get to meet their Roman opposites- or distant siblings, and hopefully feel more part of the place. For his part, Nathan wanted to just enjoy himself and let his hair down. If it happened that he ended up making out in some dim shadows with a pretty girl- all the better. Aurora's playfully tone was well received by the son of Bacchus who had pretty much appointed himself her personal host for the evening. It elicited a broad smile on his face in response.
It was certainly time to break the ice with the Greek now. "So...whose daughter are you?" he posed his question. He cocked his wreathed head and looked at her thoughtfully. "Hmmm...I guess not a daughter of Mars- you haven't tried to beat me up". That make him chuckle, since he was warming to this new game. "Can't be a Hades girl- you're way too much fun to be around" he concluded. He shook his head. "No- not a daughter of Aphrodite....too obvious a choice" he said.
Breathing through his mouth slowly as he thrust the weighted bar above his head and then returned it in sequence, Nathan racked his brains for a polite and dipomatic response to what Joan stated. She wasn't exactly one of the people he would want to be stuck in a lift with, but then again she certainly wasn't the Devil incarnate- you had to be fair about that. "You're not the first person I would expect to be here" he admitted, hoping that he came across as being diplomatic. "Actually...I am surprised by who I DO see turning up here" the son of Bacchus stated. That was the truth. He had seen sons of Venus turn up here to work out so as to look 'nice', even if some (but not all) of their sisters found the idea of working out and getting all sweaty 'icky'. Some kids he saw in here were there to get stronger, bigger, stay in shape or work off pent up energy. Okay...Nathan had to smile a little at what Joan said about all the girls loving to see him outside working out. Truth be told, he knew only some of the girls did. Most would be away on the other side of camp or doing other things. But certainly the ones that did, certainly loved to (discretely) lifting the heavier building materials that were needed for building field fortifications. A lot of the time they hoped he would strip off his t-shirt when he was doing that, so they could look at the muscles he had. Even if he didn't, they still had enough imagine to guess what might be under his t-shirt, that framed the Y-shaped physique he had. Well tough luck for them- he usually worked out inside and that was the way it was going to remain. "Yeah..." he said slowly with a smile, "I think they do as I recall". As much of a flirt he was, Nathan was not opposed to being coy about it. The fact he flirted with the prettier girls around camp, wasn't a camp secret. Nathan just chose to keep a leash on it. Point in fact, Joan licking the salt off her lips after what she said about working out outside. If he had been facing her when she said that, Nathan would have interpreted it as a opening to make a flirty remark. As it was he didn't, so he saved himself from the sharp edge of Joan's tongued when she told him what he thought about his attempt to flirt with her.
Luckily Nathan was just finishing his set and easing the weights to the ground when Joan said what she did about Bacchus kids. "Oh my God!" he chuckled playfully, 'Do I seem like that much of a stereotype?" he asked. Stepping away from the weighted bar, he rolled his shoulders to prevent the build up of lactic acid in his muscles. The smile on his face was almost as broad as the width of his shoulders as he stretched his arm across his chest as well. "We don't all get drunk as a rule. First of all, who needed the hangover the next day and secondly, we prefer to have fun at parties- not get wasted". Of course he could have added they were all too young to get access to alcohol, but figured that truth would fly with Joan. Oh this was just too much! Nathan laughed playfully at this ultimate (as far as he was concerned) of stereotypes about his brothers and sister. "I should be so lucky that I could do that!" he laughed, "A lot of people think we can, but we can't- least...I can't" he said. Maybe it was a power he was yet to develop still. Or maybe he concentrated too much of the grapevine and not enough on the end product... "Girls like the way I look- so that was reason enough for me to work out like I do" he said. That, was certainly the truth. Hmmm...'throwing parties I am not invited to'. Was that a root cause for her being so prickly sometimes? Nathan had to wonder about that... "You don't always have to be invited...you can just turn up to them if you wanted" he answered as he cricked his neck with his hands.
An impressed look crossed Nathan's face when he was informed that Adein didn't find learning Latin hard. "I'm impressed" he admitted, "I can speak it okay, but there is times that it seems like I need a little more work". That said, he did have to nod. 'Yeah...I find it hard too to keep my head in class as well" the son of Bacchus agreed. Many a time when he was in class, he found him distracted. It could be a warm day with the sun shining down and he would be thinking about being in a vineyard, working it. Other times, it was something much closer to hand- like a pretty girl that he wanted to flirt with. Or he was thinking about some jerk who had been messing with barrack mates to the point that a fight between them and him was in the offering.
Oh yes- Centurions could come down hard if you stepped out of line or did something to irk them. Most of the time it was flirting with girls or getting into brawls that got him into trouble. Nathan often got the impression that they were more disappointed, than angry with him when they dished out a punishment for him. He was a good legionnaire, who was never late for parade, had almost spotless gear and was a reasonably good fighter. Maybe even good enough to become a Centurion himself or a Aquilar one day. Nathan laughed when told that they were pretty much in the clear. "Good to know- kinda want to be on the Centurion's good side now days" he admitted. A hissing sigh escaped from between Nathan's teeth at Adein's question. "Not really..." he admitted, "I am tend to be better in the Palestrae than in the classroom". Looking at him, it was evidently true.
The arrival of the Greek kids from Camp Half Blood had not gone unnoticed by Nathan. Their bright orange t-shirts were pretty obvious and contrasted with the purple ones that the Camp Jupiter kids wore. Personally he hadn't meet many of them or even got to know them well. He had learned a little about them from what he overhead from their conversations in the meet or from what he saw of them. In the past he had the opportunity to spar with one or two of them. Individually they were pretty good- certainly better than him he had found a few times. However when it came to fighting as a group...he was disappointed. They seemed to value fighting as individuals and not in an organized group like the Romans did. On occasion he wondered to himself if that was the reason that Camp Half Blood fell... "Mmmm....about four or five years" he replied as they walked along. "Probably have" he said with a chuckle, "I have made a bit f an impression on the drill ground in the past". At the last war game, his cohort made a good impression against other cohorts that they were put up against. With Nathan in the front rank, he could hit an opposing testudo formation like a Quarterback.

Aside from the fact that she had probably never seen Nathan around Camp Half Blood and the way he was dressed up for the party, Aurora could easily guess that the boy that was talking to her was Roman. If not, the purple Camp Jupiter t-shirt he was wearing gave the game away. If they were in high school, she would not be faulted for figuring him for a stereotypical Jock. He was tall, tanned, with wavy raven black hair and toffee brown eyes that shone in the light of the room. Nathan looked like he had a toned muscled athlete's body, that radiated an aura of strength and stamina about him. His smile complimented his tanned complexion as he laughed playfully at her answer. "I figured as much since I have never seen you around before" he replied, "Not that I know everyone" Nathan admitted as he sipped his drink.
A smile and a nod was his response to Aurora giving her name. "Nice to meet you Aurora" he said, "I'm Nathan- one of your hosts at this party. Welcome to the Third Cohorts humble abode" the tall Roman boy introduced himself, spreading his well toned arms to encompass the room they were in. Clearly the kid had a sense of humor or was just good at small talk. Maybe not...he was actually talking to her and listening to her every world. His body language showed he as interested in what she had to say. Clearly he was well known around her as a couple of girls that she didn't know, glared at her when they saw Nathan was talking to some girl (probably a Greek) whom they did not know. Most likely they sw him as their territory and did not like others dominating Nathan's attention.
