Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Sophie was dragging herself up the hill, Camp Jupiter turning into a stunning but slightly terrifying view below her. She wasn't sure how she felt about being ushered to yet another safe haven for demigods like her, after barely living at Camp Half-Blood for a year if even. It took time to adjust and now she had to get used to yet another place, another system, other people. It didn't bother her much but leaving her cabin behind, where she had collected so many herbs and potion ingredients, left a bitter aftertaste. She wondered if it still existed... or if it was burned and destroyed like most of it.
Fortunately, she had been one of the few that made it out first, mostly because there was no use for her to help protect camp and fight. She wasn't a fighter at all, although she could whack you on the head with a mop which would then result in her feeling bad about it. The struggle!
Doing what she did best, which was avoiding people and just being alone, she managed her way to the gardens, the one on the map named Garden of Bacchus. The daughter of Circe wasn't too familiar with all the lore, or in this case, history and family tree, barely remembering that Bacchus was the Roman version of the Greek god Dionysus. The garden was grand, beautiful, ethereal looking. It was much better than the boring strawberry fields they had back at home, even though Sophie loved the sweet smell of those.
Here, she was greeted by the sweet scent of various flowers. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy as she looked at them, unable to decide where to begin. There was an intention behind coming to the gardens. Sophie needed to start her new collection of potion ingredients and having the choice between either the garden or the forest, she chose the safer option. Heavily breathing the young girl sat down on one of the white stone benches, a matching pillar rising into the air on each side of it.
She needed a break first before being able to do anything at all, enjoying the solitude and the beautiful view.
Oh yes…the Garden of Bacchus was an excellent place for one to meet secretly with someone who took one’s fancy. For the last hour he and a daughter of Venus had been making out in a more secluded part of the garden. There was…something about each other that had invigorated both of them. They had flirted with each other, as was their natures and arranged to meet in the Garden of Bacchus. In the shade of a tree with dropping branches, they had kissed and ignored the time that past whilst they attended to each other. Taking their time their hands explored each other’s bodies that lay beneath the clothing that they had on and did not take off (even though Nathan was pretty sure that she wanted his shirt off).
All things come to an end- good things even more quicker. Eventually the moment came when he and the daughter of Venus had to part. He didn’t know if they would ever get together again. Who knew when Camp Jupiter would be attacked and he would be called to battle. Not the greatest fighter in camp (there were children of Mars who could set him on his gluteus maximus any day of the week), he was still one of the strongest in camp and had the muscles to prove it (another reason that the daughter of Venus had chosen to spend time with him). Still smiling blissfully for his encounter he wandered through the gardens. Were the birds always singing so sweetly and the flowers so colorful as they were today? Or was he still in a state of relaxed bliss from his meeting with the daughter of Venus? Whatever the truth, he was smiling as he walked along.
Therefore he was surprised to encounter someone else in the garden suddenly. That was the problem with shrubs- they hide people quite well until you walk around the side of them. Needless to say, he was surprised when he encountered someone he didn’t know sitting on a white stone bench. “Oh…hi” he said as he blinked out of his day dream of bliss.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Sophie Marigold marigold
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Sitting felt great. Sophie stretched her arms and legs, the hood of her sweater slipping down but it was fine as long as no one was around. The scar was an obscure one, horrible, ugly. And Sophie thought she didn’t deserve it. She had always been just a plain girl, not like her half-sisters or her stepmother. She had always been treated like she wasn’t anything special… not that she minded. It was fine. She was content with her appearance, her life. There was no need to be beautiful or pretty. She did not deserve this odd feature, screaming abnormality to everyone around her.
Holding out her hand she caught a ray of sunshine, flexing her slim fingers in the light and watching it curiously as it appeared and disappeared between her fingers. Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to practice magic, the kind her mother used. Not even those gifts Sophie had been granted. She was so normal unlike other demigods but yet special, despite not the kind of special she would ever have aspired to be.
With a sigh, the daughter of Circe stood, so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t realize someone else had approached. When the other camper spoke she let out a surprised shriek, pulling in her arms, before taking a step backward and tripping against the bench she had just sat on a moment ago. She plopped right back down on it. Upon realizing that she wasn’t wearing the hood she immediately turned away and slid up the hood of her sweater so it covered most of her face or at least the important part she didn’t want others to see.
Without turning back to the stranger she gave him an awkward wave with her hand. "Hi, umm… this isn’t private property, is it?" Sophie asked, sliding towards the opposite side of the bench and away from the demigod. "I didn’t mean to trespass. I’ll just leave again-" The brunette slowly crept further down the bench until she was sitting on the very edge of it.
Sitting on the bench was a girl that Nathan had never seen before. His first reaction was that she was one of the Greek kids that were now living in Camp Jupiter (through no fault of their own, as far as he was concerned).
It didn’t surprise him if that was true and she was just exploring this part of the camp. Certain he would be if he was a Greek kid who suddenly found himself dumped in Camp Jupiter. Whatever the truth of the matter, Nathan was of the opinion that she could not have chosen a more beautiful place in all of Camp Jupiter. He had himself spent hours in here just enjoying the ambient beauty of the place- by himself or with someone else.
The way she was holding out her hand, he took her as a possible daughter of Helios- whoever else but one of them would take such simple pleasure from the rays of the sun up above?
Needless to say, her reaction to him speaking to her caught him unawares…
Her banshee-like shriek of surprise and the way she stepped backwards abruptly, made him react by jumping back just as abruptly. Holy Cow- all he did was say hello and she just about had a fit. Needless to say, she scared the Hades out of the son of Bacchus, since it was the last thing he expected.
“Umm- no…its public property here” he informed the girl as she yanked her hood over her head. “Anyone can come here if they want. Sorry if I freaked you out…its kinda peaceful here and I didn’t expect anyone to be here” Nathan said by way of an apology and an explanation of the garden’s nature.
The strange girl seemed a little freaked out by what happened as well. “No- you don’t have to go. Not unless you want to” he assured Sophie. Slowly he stepped towards the bench that she was sitting on and sat down at the very opposite edge of the bench. “I don’t mind sharing this place- the Garden of Bacchus with others…it’s kinda of a place dedicated to my dad” the son of Bacchus said, smiling up at the sun. “I take it you must be one of the new Greek kids around here- haven’t seen you around before. Least…I don’t think I have” he said.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] The motion of pulling her hood up as quick as she could resulted in her dark curls hanging all over her face. She blew one up before reaching out with one hand, the other holding on tight to the brim of the fabric and securing it in place. Her slim fingers brushed over the curls, carefully tugging them behind her ears and into the hood of the sweater.
Sophie didn’t mean to shriek yet she couldn’t help it because she was simply surprised by the other demigod appearing out of nowhere… or at least that’s what she had thought since she was so preoccupied with admiring the garden and the warmth of the sun. Remaining at the edge of the bench she turned her upper body halfway around, peeking out from under the hood to look at the guy. "Sorry," she mumbled, a short apology for the unholy noise she must have made since she realized he looked surprised as well.
A nervous chuckle escaped her rose-tinted lips, her fingers restlessly fidgeting with the hood. "That makes two of us then," she replied to him when he told her that he didn’t expect anyone to be at the gardens. She didn’t either hence the confusion and surprise. But at least she didn’t feel bad anymore about having seemingly broken into private property. Of course, it made sense that this wasn’t. It was simply part of the Roman camp. She figured that perhaps it was the same as the strawberry fields back at Camp Half-Blood. Not to mention how difficult it would be to keep it private with a bunch of demigods running around.
"I-" she started and paused, biting her lower lip as she tried to decide whether or not she wanted to leave. Perhaps she could stay, the hoodie hopefully hiding all her insecurities for now. "I would like to stay if you don’t mind me lingering around. I just wanted to look at all the plants and herbs that grow here." The brunette listened to him explain about the gardens and that it was sort of a place dedicated to his father. "So you’re a son of Dio- I mean Bacchus? Is it?" she wondered, her brain scrambling to get the mythologies and pantheons right. Sophie was still kind of new, only having arrived at camp a year ago or even less. She didn’t even remember, having lost track of time, especially since the attack happened.
Sophie made sure to not turn around fully. Instead, she only ever looked at him through the fingers that held up the hood in place. Even if he couldn’t see it, be it because he wasn’t even paying attention to her whatsoever, she nodded at his comment about her being Greek. "Yeah… uh- my mom is Circe. But don’t worry. I don’t have a habit of turning men into guinea pigs." A small smile played on her lips, the thought of all the campers she had managed to scare away only using her mother's name popping up in her head.
The girl at the opposite edge of the bench who squealed at when he spoke to her, seemed to be unusually interested in her hoodie...weird.
Not uber-creepy weird, just unusual. Not that Nathan made a habit of noticing stuff like that. It was just something he noticed and took note of. “That’s okay…” he said with a small- if embarrassed smile, “I was kind of surprized too…didn’t expect to see anyone here”. In Nathan’s experience it was rare for two campers to be in the same spot in the gardens at the same time. Sure…there were probably a few campers dotted around the gardens, but they had little idea where the others were (if they even knew they were even there). Small wonder that he was surprized to find Sophie there.
Even though the girl was still fiddling with her hoodie, at least she was able to chuckle at what happened. “Yes it does” he agreed, “Of course we are probably not the only ones here today”. Nathan wasn’t sure if there were any other campers in the gardens that day. That said, even if he did have any idea how many there were- he had no idea where they were. Especially those Hermes kids…they were sneaky.
Sophie’s attempt to say something, made the son of Bacchus cocked his head to the side, partially to hear what she had to say, partially at his confusion at why she stopped saying what she was going to say.
Hearing what she wanted to say, the Bacchus kid smiled his warmest smile. Of course he wanted her to stay longer. He wanted anyone who came here to enjoy their stay in the garden and feel safe there. “Sure- stay as long as you want. That is one of the reasons we have this place. So people can enjoy it freely” he said. Party boy he might be, Nathan loved being here at least a couple of times a week. It wasn’t just because he was there to tend his secret grapevine or to make out with a pretty girl, it was also because the place made him feel good. It was a place dedicated to his father and in its own way, being here Nathan was able to commune with his father, even if a little bit.
“Oh yes…the plants and herds are really nice here- especially in spring. Flowers are just so much more beautiful and the herbs are just that more fragrant” Nathan waved lyrically as he went into a brief revere about the past times he had been there.
Nathan chuckled. Like he hadn’t tongue-tripped over the dichotomy of Greek and Roman gods and goddesses himself. “Yeah- Dionysus/Bacchus…same guy,- just a different party outfit” he agreed. “But yeah- I am a son of Bacchus” the young demigod from Third Cohort verified.
Okay…mentioning the possibility of turning a guy into a guinea pig, was not a good way to get friendly with hedonistic sons of Bacchus who (unfortunately for him) had the habit of flirting. Truth be known, Nathan didn’t know whom Circe was, or even who their Roman version was. All he did know was that he didn’t think he would like to be a small furry squeaking animal running around a cage, twitching his nose and munching on lettuce all day (not that he had a problem with eating lettuces mind you). “That’s…good to know. I’ll make a point of not getting on your bad side” he said with a smile that wasn’t too confident.
