Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

You didn't need to ask twice if you asked Nathan (or any other of the Bacchus kids) if he thought it was a good idea for Third Cohort to organize a party in their barracks... Nathan was pretty much slap-bang right in the center of it, organizing and selecting a guest list of people from outside of Third Cohort to invite. What use was a party if the same old faces kept turning up? And new faces, there were. Greek faces- some of them rumored to be kids of Dionysus, who was rumored to be the Greek version of Bacchus. To date Nathan had never meet one and it would be pretty accurate he wanted to meet one. A couple of Apollo kids in his barracks started the idea and it was only expected that they would organize the music and the dance floor (made by clearing away some of the beds in the barrackroom). For his part, Nathan organized the acquisition of the necessary food and liquid refreshments for the event. Needless to say, all of his barrck-mates were involved and in secret, had spent days preparing for the event in mind.
To avoid detection by their Centurion, the members of the Third Cohort planned the party to start after 11pm at night. Shuttering the windows to prevent the ambient candle light from leaking out in a manner that would draw undue attention by their Centurion or his little 'toadie' snitches, the party was eventually in swing by the time the appointed hour arrived. Soft music seemed to meld with the dark ambient light of the small candles dotted around the room. Nathan was wearing his cleanest jeans with his favorite Chuck Taylor basketball boots on his feet. Around his wrist he wore a twisted wrist band of grapevines, so that all knew to whom he belonged and who he was. Even though it felt just a hint sacrilegious, he wore a mock set of gold laurel wreaths around his head, upon a crown of wavy jet blck hai that matched his toffee brown eyes. So far the party seemed to be kicking off well...
Aurora wasn't even sure why she was here. Maybe it was the tiresome nagging of her half siblings to go out and do something. Her arrival here at camp Jupiter had not been easy for her. Back at Camp Half Blood she refused to break the heart of someone who meant too much to her. Though it seemed after everything the inability to give up that he was gone hurt more. Though she often wore a smile on her face is was only a mask to the pain she felt beneath it.
She was not planning on going but here she was at the barracks of the third cohort. She was dressed in a nice pair of jeans and a simple purple blouse. Her hair was braided over her shoulder carefully. Though she wore no jewelry and little makeup, her natural gift of beauty shown through. A soft smile played on her lips as she found herself standing off to the side. She wasn't exactly sure where to start. Her siblings that had brought her urged her to talk and flirt with some of the guys. Aurora wasn't so sure about that.
She knew little to none of the Romans, most weren't exactly the fondest of the Greeks. For some the feeling was mutual. Aurora didn't mind the Romans. Though their ways definitely were different than their own. To the Romans the Greeks were nothing more than refugees ruining their way of life. In a sense they were but they had no where else to go. To be outside any barrier of safety would certainly mean death for groups of demigods would simply attract monster after monster.
So here she was trying her luck. If she was lucky maybe she could find a friend, anything to take her mind off her deepest fears.

Nathan was enjoying himself. The music and the ambient light complimented each other nicely as he wandered around. A good number had turned up that night, stealing through the darkness to Third Cohort's barracks. Some of them thought it was fun to slip out under the noses of their Centurions and have some fun. They chatted and laughed about this nocturnal hi-jinks and declared they ought to do that more in future. It intrigued him that so many of the recently arrived Greek kids had turned up in answer to the invitations sent out to them. He wasn't sure who their godly parents were- not would he even try and guess...looks could be deceptive. Strolling about in his role as one of the hosts of the party, he sipped his goblet of grape juice. "One day it will be wine" he thought to himself as he sipped it. Never mind...grape juice would suffice for now and it was nice and cool on his palate. Here and there he saw faces that he did recognize and on occasion he stopped to talk. One or two of his female admirers also made a point of saying hello to him, touching his arm or his chest admiringly
It did not escape his attention that there was someone who didn't seem to be entering into the spirit of things. Considering the atmosphere of the place, the girl didn't seem to be giving off a 'positive partying' vibe. Well maybe she just didn't know anyone. He was anyone. With that thought in mind, he made his way over to where she was. "Hi...I don't think I have seen you around before" Nathan said as he took a sip from his goblet, "You one of the Greek kids?" he asked.

Aurora watched as others moved about having a good time. Of course she had many reasons for not enjoying herself. Between everything on her mind and everyone practically being strangers. If she had been in a better mood she wouldn't have minded going and mingling. Though she was aware of how many Romans felt towards them. Even in a party situation it was hard to tell who was alright with Greeks and who wasn't. She in no way wanted to cause a scene.
That was when she noticed someone making their way over. She pushed strands of loose hair out of her face and put on a kind smile. The last thing she needed was to make someone question her foul mood. When he asked if she was a Greek she gave a nod. "Yeah...that obvious huh..." she said calmly. Her brown gaze looked over who stood before her with curiosity. Clearly a Roman but he seemed alright so far.
"I am Aurora..." she said kindly. She hadn't exactly expected anyone to come over to talk to her. She was sure there was plenty of people who wished to talk. She of course didn't mind it as it made coming to this whole worthwhile. Not that her siblings had given her much of a choice. At one point they even threatened to drag her all the way over her.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 229 Nathan Russo
Aside from the fact that she had probably never seen Nathan around Camp Half Blood and the way he was dressed up for the party, Aurora could easily guess that the boy that was talking to her was Roman. If not, the purple Camp Jupiter t-shirt he was wearing gave the game away. If they were in high school, she would not be faulted for figuring him for a stereotypical Jock. He was tall, tanned, with wavy raven black hair and toffee brown eyes that shone in the light of the room. Nathan looked like he had a toned muscled athlete's body, that radiated an aura of strength and stamina about him. His smile complimented his tanned complexion as he laughed playfully at her answer. "I figured as much since I have never seen you around before" he replied, "Not that I know everyone" Nathan admitted as he sipped his drink.
A smile and a nod was his response to Aurora giving her name. "Nice to meet you Aurora" he said, "I'm Nathan- one of your hosts at this party. Welcome to the Third Cohorts humble abode" the tall Roman boy introduced himself, spreading his well toned arms to encompass the room they were in. Clearly the kid had a sense of humor or was just good at small talk. Maybe not...he was actually talking to her and listening to her every world. His body language showed he as interested in what she had to say. Clearly he was well known around her as a couple of girls that she didn't know, glared at her when they saw Nathan was talking to some girl (probably a Greek) whom they did not know. Most likely they sw him as their territory and did not like others dominating Nathan's attention.

Aurora seemed to look him over as he stood now before her. She herself radiated beauty even if she was faking a smile. Her tanned skin clear of blemishes. Her brown hair perfectly braided over her shoulder. She carried the beauty of most Aphrodite kids. Though where most of her siblings purposely looked to break hearts she was not like that. She would much rather have a relationship that meant something and not some fling that would be tossed to the wind in an instant. It was the very thing that caused her much pain from the past.
Though from her expression she held no pain but just a gentle smile and her brown eyes soft with kindness. "Well then Nathan it is nice to meet you as well. Not entirely sure what Roman parties entail...maybe you can show me" she suggested to him kindly. There was a playfulness to her tone. Something about Nathan was different to her. Most likely being the way he treated her differently than most.
He was certainly a charmer but he also listened to her. Most just nodded and pretended to be listening. Or they just told how she should be rather than talking her through things. Many of the Greeks were going through this rough patch but that didn't mean it was the same for everyone. Her siblings pushing her the way they had certainly didn't help matters much.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 236 Nathan Russo
Oh yes. Nathan certainly picked up on how beautiful the Greek girl he had just meet was. Some might say that he was by nature a 'connoisseur' of pretty girls in camp. Certainly he was beginning to appreciate the Greek ones that were appearing in camp now days. They were a....novelty, that he was beginning to quietly appreciate. Lat thing he wanted was to tread on the toes of any aspiring son of Dionysus. Oh no- that would not do and would certainly ruin a fine party... Still- Nathan was enjoying the opportunity to 'bask' in the radiance of Aurora's innate beauty
The son of Bacchus spread his arms wide in answer to her question. "What you see here- people getting together to enjoy themselves, get to know each other and just chill out" he said. The party had pretty much started, so Aurora was among the first to arrive and had the power to influence aura of the event of she so chose to. If things went well, some of the Greek kids would get to meet their Roman opposites- or distant siblings, and hopefully feel more part of the place. For his part, Nathan wanted to just enjoy himself and let his hair down. If it happened that he ended up making out in some dim shadows with a pretty girl- all the better. Aurora's playfully tone was well received by the son of Bacchus who had pretty much appointed himself her personal host for the evening. It elicited a broad smile on his face in response.
It was certainly time to break the ice with the Greek now. "So...whose daughter are you?" he posed his question. He cocked his wreathed head and looked at her thoughtfully. "Hmmm...I guess not a daughter of Mars- you haven't tried to beat me up". That make him chuckle, since he was warming to this new game. "Can't be a Hades girl- you're way too much fun to be around" he concluded. He shook his head. "No- not a daughter of Aphrodite....too obvious a choice" he said.
Aurora had figured the only way she was going to feel better was to relax. This party and Nathans presence had given her that opportunity. The only way things were going to get better was for her to take her mind off things. Why not use the party as that distraction she needed? Surely standing around in the corner wasn't going to get her anywhere. Plus it had been a while since she had been to a party. Probably months prior to the attack on camp. It was also a good chance to see how Romans partied.
She buried the pain far beneath her kind and warm playful smile. "Well it has definitely been a long time since I have been to a party" she told him calmly. Her demeanor was very different to that of earlier when she had just arrived. Though she couldn't help but laugh lightly as he seemingly tried to guess her godly parent. Certainly her beauty screamed daughter of Aphrodite. Though his first few guesses certainly had her amused. "Sometimes its the obvious choices that are right.." she said to him with a playful smirk.
"Maybe you can show me to the drink table" she suggested to him gently. She didn't care who stared or glared at them. Sometimes all a person needed to feel better was someone who cared enough to make them forget what had troubled them. So far Nathan had managed to not only push her to speak but he had her smiling and laughing. Something she had not done in a while.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 261 Nathan Russo
People needed their time to feel relaxed. It would be arrogant to expect everyone to arrive at a party- especially this one, all relaxed. Nathan figured that at least one person here was probably dreading the moment when a Centurion would kick the barrack’s door open and catch everyone in the act. Was this all worth risking? Nathan thought so. Sometimes a little excitement was what you needed to make life so much more exciting…
”Really?” Nathan asked cocking his head and taking a sip of his grape juice, “I thought you Greek guys partied the same as us- or even more”. Not everything he heard about the Greek kids was true it seemed. Oh yes, he knew about the past battles and skirmishes between the two camps, he had heard about since he was at Lupus House. But surely, not all of it was true? Aurora’s kind warm smile made him smile in turn- she was changing. Before she seemed to be stand-offish an not certain if she wanted to be here, now she was getting into the spirit of the party. That was good- Nathan wanted her to enjoy herself.
Aurora had a laugh that sound like small ringing bells to Nathan. He liked the way she sounded when she laughed and her smile only complimented the reaction he had to her. Yes, she was attractive to his eye and he did want to spend more time with her at this party and get to know her better. Some kids in camp who knew him would say that by now he sound be trying to flirt with her, like he did with other girls he took a liking to. Again, the stereotype was further from the truth. Right now he was just concerned with making some who hadn’t seemed to be happy to be there, enjoy themselves that night. ”Daughter of Aphrodite…well, I should have guessed” he said approvingly. A little of his flirty side leak through there, before he got a handle of it and went back to being the good host of this party. Just for a second, he looked into her eyes as if to seek out the true person inside of Aurora. To his mind, her playful smirk suggested to him that there was a fun loving person inside of her, who was having problems getting to the surface.
”Sure thing…” he said when Aurora asked him to show her to the drinks table. More party goers had arrived since they started talking, so there were a few people milling around the floor as Nathan lead her across the barracks to the drinks table. The table had a selection of drinks- fruit punch, homemade lemon bottles, grape juice (obviously!) and orange juice. There were neat rows of glasses as well, ready to be used. Next to it was a table with snacks to accompany the drinks, if the party goers so wanted. “What would you like?” Nathan asked, offering to pour her a drink personally. It was the least he could do.

Aurora couldn't help but let out a soft laugh as he spoke. "I never said we didn't only that it had been a while. And everyone throws different parties" she pointed out with a smile. Her brown eyes gleamed with a new found calm and enjoyment. She certainly hadn't intended to enjoy this party or even stay. Now she definitely intended to stay for some time.
She would run her fingers through her dark hair calmly. Nathan seemed to be a great person to be around. His smile and calm demeanor just helped her relax even more. "Well what gave that away?" she asked playfully. Maybe she just enjoyed for once not being nagged at by someone. He was the nicest someone has been to her since her arrival here.
Though she would let him lead the way to the drink table. She scanned the table of drinks and snack. She turned her brown gaze back to him. "I'll take some fruit punch.." she told him with a warm smile. She didn't mind the others who seemed to be arriving. Nathan now had her full attention. Aurora had always been a fun loving person but since coming here things had changed.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 201 Nathan Russo
“Ah…” Nathan nodded sagely. From what he had been told and what he had learned off the few Greek kids he knew and what he had been told, they had both reasons to and not to, party. Dionysus kids didn’t need a reason- that was their nature, like their Roman counterparts. Others it wasn’t too easy to read. Maybe that was the way it was it was supposed to be- people/demigods were different. “Totally understand” the son of Bacchus said, “Different kids have different ways of partying. FYI- NEVER party with Pluto kids- oh…Hades kid, they are soooo depressing” he warned her.
Who knew how Nathan would react to a girl he liked. Some were friendly to him and others he wanted to bed. When all was said and done, he was a party boy son of Bacchus, not a son of Cupid or Eros. End of the day, he was all about everyone enjoying the party he was at- this being one of those times.
His toffee brown eyes followed Aurora’s fingers when she ran them through her dark hair calmly. On a certain level he thought he might like her to run her fingers through his dense wavy raven black hair. Nathan would admit it- he liked making out with pretty girls- Aurora certainly being one of them in his opinion. However right now he just wanted a pretty girl he had just meet, enjoy her time at a party that MAYBE, she wasn’t initially enjoying. More than once Nathan had been wrong about his first time impressions of people.
So what gave Aurora away as a daughter of Aurora? Nathan had to think about that for a split second. Oh Hades- he was a son of Bacchus…everyone thought he was a part-boy, so why deny it? “The fact you are really pretty…” he answered. Well it was true. At least from Nathan’s point of view. She was really pretty and he liked being around her. In truth he had no idea if Aphrodite kids were the same as Venus kids. Come to think about it, he had no idea if he was the same as Dionysus kids.
‘Oh my Lord…” he thought to himself, “she had really, really pretty eyes”. Nathan was drawn to her pretty eyes that seemed to hold him in a trance like state. “Fruit punch it is” he said reaching for the serving spoon in the bowl. "Good choice…I hear we used fresh mint leaves in it”. Truth be told, he hadn’t been party to the prep of the fruit punch, but he was aware of what was in it. That said, he had no idea if the punch had been spiked by some child of Mercury. Whatever the truth of the matter, Nathan wanted Aurora to enjoy herself that night.
Handing her the drink he had poured for her, he asked “So…how have you found Camp Jupiter so far?’. It was a legitimate question to ask her, since he did want her to enjoy her time in Camp Jupiter. If any girl was giving her the ‘evils’ for being with Nathan, he wasn’t noticing it. All his attention was directed towards Aurora and Aurora alone. He took yet another sip from his goblet of grape juice.

Though camp Jupiter was different than camp Half Blood she did find the similarities and differences between herself and her half siblings interesting. They were both alike and different. Camp Jupiter was more military based. Meanwhile she doubted many of her own half siblings had really wielded a blade themselves. Sometimes differences mad them unique though sometimes it caused trouble. "Yes indeed we do. Though I doubt all children of Hades or Pluto are depressing. I know one who actually likes to party" she responded with a smile. A book could never be judged by its cover.
Aurora had no doubt warmed up to this party, specifically warmed up to Nathan. She had met few Romans that didn't give her a glare or treat her different. Nathan seemed chill enough if not charming. Maybe she could even make some friends. Certainly someone could always use friends, this was no different. Aurora had been through a lot since the destruction but that didn't mean she had to keep hiding from it all.
"Well thank you.." she said to him with a smile. A light blush creeping into her cheeks. Her brown eyes had a soft and gentle look to them. One that masked the pain that was buried deep within. Nathan seemed to bring out the side in her many hadn't seen in a while. A side to her that was fun loving and outgoing. Maybe it was his charming smile or his kind gaze that brought it out in her. She certainly wasn't complaining about it.
"Well mint or no mint it still looks great" she said as she took the glass from him gently. She took a sip of it and smiled once more. "Definitely as great as it looks" she added. When he asked what she thought about the camp it took a moment for her to gather her thoughts. "Well it certainly is different. I can't say it has been to bad. A lot more structure than what I am used to but one could certainly get used to it" she said to him. She held back the fact some weren't as welcoming as he seemed to be.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 361 Nathan Russo
"Oh really?" the son of Bacchus said raising his eyebrows at what he was just told, "I guess you can't judge a book by its cover". There were a few of his siblings who weren't as into parting as he was (strangely enough). They were content with enjoying music and just chilling out by themselves, as opposed to partying with others. That was fine- everyone was different.
To Nathan's mind Aurora was warming up to the idea of the party. He had no idea how long it would work for- someone people get bored after a while. Question was: how long could he keep her interested? Even more- why should it be his job? He pondered that thought as he took a sip of his grape juice. Because he actually liked her. She was pretty- there was doubt about it, and he wanted to get to know her better. As a representative of the Greek kids coming into camp, she was doing a pretty good job of getting him to take a positive view on them. As it was, she was doing a good job of making a friend among the Romans with Nathan... "Just stating the truth..." he smiled from behind his goblet.
Passing her the glass of punch, he said "Hope so...not that I was the one that made it". In all honestly he had no idea who made the punch actually, but figured it was one of his siblings, not his barrack mates. "Good to know..." he said with a smile, 'If you have any problems or anyone causes you any problems- let me know" he advised. One level Nathan was saying that to be friendly, on another he felt he said it because he felt that if anyone messed with Aurora around here, he would...displeased. He couldn't figure the reason for it. Which was weird. He knew why he felt the way about everything. That was the reason he didn't notice how close he and Aurora were standing since he handed her the drink.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) @user
Aurora offered a soft smile. "She really isn't that bad maybe you'll meet her at some point. I know she arrived here with a handful of others" she said to him. Though the minute she said the words a pang of sadness washed over her. She didn't let the emotion show past her smile. With a soft deep breath she pushed all the feelings and bad thoughts away again.
Certainly Nathan had proved to not only be a great host but an interesting person. For a Roman it was certainly not that bad of an experience. Some of them like Nathan were really nice. Of course there were the few that hated them. Nathan definitely seemed like the type of person she could see herself being friends with. He was outgoing and kind. She smiled at his comment. "I guess I have my mothers gifts of beauty to thank for that" she told him.
Aurora took another sip of her punch and look at him kindly. She herself had not realized how close they had gotten. "Well I will certainly do well to keep that in mind then" she said with a warm and playful smile. Nathan caused a side of her that she had locked away since leaving Camp Half Blood. A more fun loving and outgoing side of her. Before now she had no real reason to be happy. Friends and those she cared about were missing. Yet Nathan seemed to help her get past the pain and push it all aside.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Nathan Russo
Nathan gave a combination of a shrug and nod. Truth of the matter was that there had been boodles of Greek kids coming into camp of late and for one, he had not even meet half of them. They had their own issues to deal with- just surviving the retreat across country to Camp Jupiter, whereas he had been busy with his own duties and training as part of his cohort. Small wonder he had not encountered the daughter of Hades in question.
He was paying close attention to Aurora to make sure she was enjoying herself here that night, so he noticed the slightly sad tone in her voice, searching her eyes to find out the truth behind her words. To his mind he saw that she was trying to enjoy herself, even if the matter at hand was rearing its head. Best to leave it be. So he said, “I am sure I will” with a smile and took a sip from his goblet.
“That you do…” he said with a smile by way of a compliment or subtle attempt at flirting with Aurora (which he wasn’t quite sure because he was enjoying the conversation). “Pretty much surprised some other guy wasn’t talking to you already by now. Guess you needed to feel like it was time to smile” he suggested (now he was flirting). “Good idea to take your time…no need to rush- night’s still young” the son of Bacchus said looking down into her eyes. Actually, it was starting to get towards the late part of the night, but he saw no reason to give up a good flirting banter on that account.
A small gracious bow was made by the son of Bacchus. “All part of the service of making you feel welcome” he said. “Be kind of rude if someone was making trouble for you and totally unforgivable if I let it happen and didn’t do anything about it”. This was his Roman sense of honor coming through now. To his mind, a guest at one of his parties that he was responsible who was made to feel uncomfortable was an insult to his honor. He could not let anyone do that to a guest and get away with it and not step up and answer that insult. As it was (as far as he knew), no one had been rude to Aurora tonight and he aimed to make sure it stayed that way.
It was true that Nathan (consciously or sub-consciously) was trying to help Aurora push past any pain inside of her. That was what Nathan often did with people. He helped talk people through their problems at parties. Maybe he didn’t even know he was using his father’s gift that allowed him to cause or cure insanity. Not that Aurora was insane- far from it. However there were things- memories even, that were weighing heavily upon her. All Nathan was doing was using the ‘strength’ of his nature to help lift some of the weight off her. As it was, it seemed to be working because she was smiling.
