Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver’s cigarette was held in place perfectly between his lips while his dark eyes scanned the fridge for something worth snacking on. The moment he saw meat, his form disappeared behind the fridge door as he leaned forward into the fridge to pick out a good piece of chicken. While completely focused on the chicken, Oliver was oblivious to the angry spirit standing on the other side of the fridge door. The ghost stared at him for a few seconds, then shook its head with irritation before it began walking toward the kitchen drawers. The Ghost began slowly opening the drawers so as to not alert the son of Hades. First, it opened the top drawers and closed it, then it opened the second drawer and closed it a few seconds later as if it were searching for something. But just as the ghost opened the third drawer, it detected another presence enter the mess hall, so it stopped what it was doing and hid.[break][break]
Oliver remained blissfully oblivious to the strange activity of the specter that was in the kitchen with him, instead, he was focused on the drumstick he had managed to pick out of the fridge. The son of Hades leaned on the fridge door to keep it open while using his left hand to pull the cigarette away from his lips. Once the cigarette was out of the way, he began to devour the chicken drumstick he held in his right hand. The chicken was quite cold, but he was alright with that, mostly because he was too lazy to use a microwave at this hour. But while Oliver enjoyed his cold chicken, the room suddenly began feeling cold. At first, Oliver assumed the sudden chill he felt was because he had been standing in front of the fridge for too long, but when he began seeing his own breath each time he exhaled, he knew something was wrong.[break][break]
The more he tried to ignore it, the more the temperature in the room dropped, until Oliver was convinced that a change in room temperature that was this sudden and rapid could never be a naturally occurring phenomenon. Just as he was about to investigate this change in temperature, Oliver heard a voice telling him to step away from the fridge with his hands up. In response, he offered a single chuckle. The person giving these orders was on the other side of the fridge door, so Oliver and the stranger couldn’t see each other as of yet, but she certainly sounded pissed off. A part of him thought it was one of those roman centurions or something. So, Oliver initially thought about using his umbrakinesis to hide and sneak out right past her, or simply shadow traveling back to his bed. [break][break]
But he eventually decided against doing those things because it seemed unnecessary. He figured he’d get into very little trouble for sneaking out at night and stealing food. So, he decided to get to know the stranger while he was still hidden behind the large fridge door, and Since the woman on the other side of the fridge door had told him to step away with his hands up, like she was some sort of police officer. Oliver figured a little cops and robbers roleplay was in order. ”Hey officer. I have a hostage behind this door with me….Unless you let me leave here with this drumstick I’ll kill the hostage alright?” he smirked playfully before taking another bite from the drumstick in his right hand, while the cigarette in his left hand continued burning. ” I’m warning you.. hungry demigods are cranky as f*ck. I’ll really kill this hostage, officer.”[break][break]
Oliver was obviously joking, just to see how irritable the stranger on the other side of the fridge door was. Then out of nowhere, he heard the loud sound of the door to the mess hall being slammed shut and locked. Since Oliver was still behind the fridge door he couldn’t see who had closed the door, so he assumed the woman in the mess hall with him had slammed the door and locked it. The door being slammed like that caused him to finally come out from behind the fridge door with a drumstick in one hand and a burning cigarette in the other. He had a nonchalant expression on his face as he finally set eyes on the beautiful woman in there with him. A smile would have made its way onto his face upon seeing her, but it didn’t because he noticed the ice spear in her hand.[break][break]
” okay, I admit it was a bad joke. But don’t you think slamming the door and making a weapon is a bit much?” he said the last part while signaling at her ice spear.

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver maintained eye contact with the daughter of Dionysus as she got down on one knee and held his hand between both of hers. The son of Hades could occasionally see the madness flare-up in her eyes, which made her cornflower blue eyes look even more lively and attractive to him. The moment Dani knelt on one knee, almost every pedestrian around them stopped in their tracks and looked at the two demigods with interest. The wide uncontrollable grin on Dani’s face amused Oliver and caused a small smirk to make its way onto his features as well. While the two demigods used their eyes and grins to communicate how funny they thought their little façade was, the rest of the crowd saw them smirk and grin at each other and assumed it was out of excitement or desire. This caused more people to join the crowd that was observing the two demigods.[break][break]
The moment Dani began her proposal the crowd moved even closer until the two demigods were encircled by a large crowd of curious mortals. But Oliver hadn’t paid them any mind, he was too busy internally laughing at the overly dramatic tone in Dani’s voice as she delivered the proposal. He had never heard her speak like that before, and he was currently doing everything he could to restrain himself from bursting out into laughter. Luckily, the crowd seemed utterly enthralled by her dramatic acting. The moment Dani paused mid-sentence for dramatic effect, Oliver could almost feel the crowd holding their breath in suspense. Then, when she finally uttered the word “husband”, a chorus of “aaaaaawws” echoed from every direction while some members of the crowd began to comment on how cute it was.[break][break]
A slight chuckle escaped Oliver’s lips after hearing the crowd’s aaawws, then he placed his free hand over his chest and put on a surprised facial expression so he could play off his chuckle as part of being surprised. When she discreetly whispered to Oliver to inform him that saying no wasn’t an option, he laughed a little but quickly regained his composure. Then, the members of the audience quickly stopped their conversations about how cute the proposal was, the crowd fell silent in anticipation of the dark-haired demigod’s answer. Oliver looked at the daughter of Dionysus and decided to take a page from her acting book. He gave a brief silence to raise the suspense until people in the audience began hollering ” Yes!.... say yes.[break][break]
However, Just before the son of Hades could give an answer, Dani suddenly stood up and reached for him. One of her hands ran through his dark hair and the other rested on the side of his face as she began to enthusiastically kiss him. At that moment, the world around Oliver faded away and all he focused on was the familiar feeling of her soft lips dancing with his. The moment the kiss began, his eyes closed, and his hands instinctively reached out and tightly groped Dani’s butt. Then, he pulled her in while kissing her back with the same level of enthusiasm and passion he felt from her. As their kiss deepened, Oliver groped her behind with an even firmer grip. He could feel the darkness within him embracing her madness, which caused every shadow around them to darken, it also caused a light beside them to flicker on and off momentarily before both demigods pulled away from the kiss.[break][break]
The son of Hades could hear the loud hollering, clapping, and whistling of the crowd around them, but when he opened his eyes after pulling away from the kiss, the only thing he looked at was Dani. He could see her madness staring back at him through those cornflower blue eyes, and he could feel that alluring chaotic energy seeping through her pores. So, he smiled at both Dani and the madness hiding behind her eyes. It was odd that the darkness she usually tried so hard to suppress was part of what had drawn him to her in the first place. As he calmed down from their kiss, the shadows around them returned to their natural light shade of black, and his darkness stopped interfering with the light beside them.[break][break]
Oliver began getting back into character. His hands still rested on her behind as he began to give an answer to her proposal. ” Well, That wasn’t a fair proposal. How’s a man supposed to say no after a kiss like that?” he spoke with a calm smirk on his face while removing his hands from her butt, then he continued. ” Yes, I’d be honored to call you... my wife. Now, how about we get you a ring, then get some drinks to celebrate? “ he leaned in to kiss her on the forehead. Then he held her hand and began leading her through the crowd that had encircled them, so they could make their way to the jewelry store. while they walked at a calm pace he looked at her curiously, "I assume the guy takes the girl's last name if she proposed right? just know, I'm not taking your last name if its something generic like Smith... Oliver smith doesn't quite have the same ring to it." Oliver used this as an opportunity to understand more about modern culture and find out what his new fake fiance's last name was.

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver was pitching an idea that would have them both acquainted with the gallows should they fail, assuming outlaws were still hung once proven guilty in the modern world. But the idea of potentially being caught and executed didn’t bother the son of Hades in the slightest, he had stopped thinking of himself as a “living human” years ago anyway. Oliver had long grouped himself in with the walking dead because he had become devoid of all earthly connections, and because he primarily existed to entertain himself and satiate his cravings, like a zombie that only existed to find sustenance and feed. He had no cause greater than himself to serve, no code of honor to abide, no heroic quest to pursue, and he was glad to be free of such burdens. Oliver was content leaving burdensome ideals like that to the children of Zeus or Ares. He preferred living for nothing but his own entertainment because living like a zombie was blissful, unrestrained, and quite fun. [break][break]
But while Oliver was unphased by the potential risks of his plan, he didn’t know if the daughter of Dionysus would be equally willing to risk being hung or enduring whatever manner of execution society utilized to rid itself of outlaws in the world of today. So, when he heard a rather confused and surprised “What” slip out of her lips, he assumed she was backing out, which was okay. He wouldn’t have held it against her in the slightest if she had decided to back out. But then, just as he was about to ditch the idea of having her help with this idea, he was pleasantly surprised when he saw a smile make its way onto her features the more he explained his plan to her. Shortly after he had finished explaining, Dani burst out into a peal of loud and hearty laughter. For a second or two the son of Hades was confused, but he was glad she hadn’t called him crazy yet.[break][break]
He was unsure if she was backing out or not, but when the blonde demigod stopped laughing and began fluttering her eyelashes flirtatiously and pouting her soft pink lips, Oliver assumed those were signs that she was potentially interested in his crazy little heist. But it wasn’t until Dani spoke that he was one hundred percent sure she was definitely in. Her statement about his version of a proposal had honestly taken him by surprise and managed to make him burst out laughing. For once, Oliver wasn’t the cool and composed guy who occasionally smirked from the shadows. She had actually surprised him enough with her craziness to get an honest laugh out of him. It took a few seconds for him to gather his composure before he grinned at her and began speaking again. ” Pardon my forwardness. We certainly have to start this off the right way. Allow me to fix my error.” Oliver still had her hand in his and he was about to kneel down and propose to her on the spot, then he suddenly felt her hand tug at his when she began to walk.[break][break]
He followed her to wherever she was pulling him without resistance, and when the gentle tug of her hand on his had stopped, he knew they had reached their destination. They stopped on a crowded street, where the constant purr and roar of vehicles was more audible, a street where more pedestrians walked beside them and the scent of piss seemed to disappear. The lights of the city shone on them much better from this location, and the multicolored lights from signs around them created an interesting collage of colors in her already bright blue eyes when Oliver looked into them. So, he pulled her in just a bit closer to him while listening to her ask if he would propose to her, or if Oliver preferred it the other way around. In response, the dark-haired demigod arched an eyebrow out of surprise. He had no idea it had become a social norm for both males and females to propose if they wished. This was yet another pleasant surprise from the twenty-first century.[break][break]
A woman proposing in the eighteenth century was unheard of. No man or woman had ever seen or heard of it happening, so when Dani offered to propose, it became quite obvious to Oliver which option he’d go with. There was no way he was refusing the chance to see a woman propose. He had no idea what it looked like or if women did it differently, but he was keen on finding out since he was always open to new experiences. So, he grinned at her, then another chuckle came out of him as he thought about how random a false engagement was. ” there is no way in Tartarus I’m passing up the chance to see something that would have been impossible in my time. So, could you do the honors?” he looked at his future fake-fiancée and winked at her while he prepared himself to play the part of a young man on the cusp of being engaged. He hadn’t done much acting before, but he was sure he’d be decent at improvising. Especially when he had such a good leading lady as his costar.

[attr="class","scroll"] The son of hades tossed and turned in his bed with discomfort as the voices of dead Greek campers combined into a vengeful cacophony in his dreams. ” I didn’t do it okay!?…. F*ck off” he cursed at the ghosts that haunted his dreams, but that didn’t deter them in the slightest. A few of the campers that had died in the camp half-blood fire were angrily holding him down against his will. Dozens of charred and skeletal hands grabbed him from every angle and choked or scratched him until Oliver finally woke up in a cold sweat. His breathing was elevated, and he was beyond pissed at this point. ” another f*cking nightmare.” his words left his lips with a sigh while he slipped out of his bed silently. Once he was out of bed, he knelt down next to his bed and reached under it to pull out his pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Then he proceeded to sneak out of his cabin.[break][break]
Once he was outside, Oliver paused to think about his nightmare while enjoying the cool night breeze. He inhaled and exhaled the fresh air while looking around a bit to make sure the coast was clear. When he was sure no one was around, he pulled one cigarette from the box and placed it between his lips, and lit it. This wasn’t the first nightmare he had had, and they seemed to be getting worse each night. What annoyed him the most is that these nightmares were being caused by a stupid misunderstanding. Some of the Greeks at camp half-blood had often seen Oliver sneaking out at night for a smoke when he couldn’t sleep, Which was quite often. so when the camp burnt down some of the dead campers automatically assumed he was responsible for their deaths. As a result, some of the dead Greeks often haunted his dreams in search of revenge or an apology, or whatever the heck they wanted.[break][break]
Oliver deeply inhaled the nicotine from his cigarette and exhaled into the night sky while calmly walking toward the mess hall to clear his mind. He knew he wasn’t responsible for the fire, and no matter how many times he told them, the dumb specters didn’t understand him. In all honesty, Oliver was surprised that ghosts could even communicate with him. Despite his heritage, the dark-haired demigod had close to no necromancy powers. His specialty was darkness. From as early as he could remember he had always had a close relationship with the darkness. It healed his wounds, gave him transportation, and did his bidding without question or complaint. The shadows naturally loved his presence and they were all he needed. The only time Oliver could control the dead was when he was in the underworld, so he didn’t understand how these demigod ghosts were communicating to him, or how in Tartarus they had even found him here.[break][break]
He shook that thought out of his head and calmly took another drag of his cigarette as he walked. Although he had calmed down considerably, he was still annoyed at the idea of losing sleep over something he didn’t even do. The son of Hades was guilty of many things, and being a sadistic jerk was definitely on that long list of sins, but even he wouldn’t barbeque his fellow Greek demigods. Well, at least not without a very good reason.[break][break]
After a minute or two of walking, he had finally reached the Mess hall, as expected it was obviously locked. So, he pointed at the door and the shadow of his finger took on the shape of a key that fits perfectly into the lock. After solidifying his shadow, he used the shadow key to unlock the Mess hall. Oliver nonchalantly strolled into the Mess hall while taking another drag from his cigarette, he headed directly for the kitchen and didn’t bother turning on the lights since his night vision was enough to see his surroundings clearly. The dark-haired demigod began rummaging through the fridge in the dark, while completely oblivious to the ghost that was angrily hovering over him. The malicious spirit looked around at its surroundings and began plotting its revenge on Oliver while he blissfully stole food from the fridge. The door to the Mess hall had been left wide open because Oliver knew that if someone with authority walked in, he would simply use the shadows to conceal his presence.

[attr="class","scroll"] This woman never ceased to amaze him, the quip she had shared before they shadow traveled still lingered in his mind because the timing of her quip amused him quite a lot. In the face of potential death or being lost in unknown worlds, she looked completely calm, and she had the composure to make a joke instead of worrying about the millions of things that could have gone horribly wrong. This situation reminded him of the first day he met her when she decided to stick her finger in a mysterious black flame with little to no hesitation. Cleary the blonde demigod was the kind of person who walked into the unknown and said “honey I’m home” instead of fearing the unknown, and Oliver loved that about her. He had only known her for about an hour or so and he already knew she was the perfect partner in crime. Even now, as they stood in a random dimly lit alley in a foreign city, surrounded by strange sounds and even stranger smells she seemed completely unphased. Instead, she was excited and ready to explore their surroundings.[break][break]
Oliver calmly stood in place with his hands in his pockets and simply enjoyed watching the confidence in her step as she walked to the mouth of the alley, the blonde demigod was clearly in her element now. On the other hand, Oliver took his time to think and collect more information about the world around him before he made any moves or decisions. He knew they would need a good amount of money for comfortable accommodation, good food, some smokes, and some partying. So, he began reading every sign and flyer in his vicinity while slowly following Dani to the mouth of the alley in hopes of seeing some kind of opportunity to exploit. When Oliver reached the mouth of the alley and stood beside the daughter of Dionysus, one sign particularly caught his attention, and it was a sign that had the word “Jewelry” on it. Immediately his eyes darkened, and a small smile made its way onto his face as his mind cooked up a scheme.[break][break]
When Dani turned toward him with a newfound sparkle in her cornflower blue eyes, Oliver was surprised. He hadn’t seen her face light up like this before, but he definitely liked it. He enjoyed the way her eyes had come to life, and the grin on her soft pouty lips had almost cast a spell on the son of the underworld as he listened to her confirm that they were in the right place. the son of Hades was glad to hear that she had no problems with their current location since he knew he wouldn’t be able to shadow travel with her again for at least an hour or so. Surprisingly, shadow traveling for two was a lot harder than he had expected. ” I’m glad you like it here, I wouldn’t want to explore this place with anyone else.…..you trust me right?” he said the last part of his sentence while eyeing the jewelry shop beside the alley again with a wolfish grin on his face. Oliver had heard the saying “Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat” before, but for him to shadow travel right next to a jewelry shop while he was broke felt like Fortuna wasn’t just favoring him, She was actively trying to get him into bed at this point.[break][break]
After a brief pause, he continued speaking. ” Dani, I’d like you to help me pick out an engagement ring.”. The mere sentence sent an uncomfortable shiver down his spine, which was saying a lot since he had witnessed the worst forms of punishment in the underworld without batting an eyelash. So, for a mere statement to make him uncomfortable was an impressive achievement for the English language. The shiver that ran down his spine was a testament to how ridiculous certain mortal norms really were to him, or maybe it was a testament to his own selfishness. As soon as the discomfort faded he used his eyes to show her the jewelry store. [break][break]
” We can walk in there together and pretend like we are looking to buy an engagement ring in order to identify the most expensive ring they have in there. Immediately after we have identified a mark, we will make sure they see us return the ring in its rightful place and leave. I’ll handle the rest.” He looked into her eyes to try and read her face for any reactions to his plan because he completely understood that he was asking for a lot. ” I promise I won’t let anything happen to you. I would also understand if you aren’t up for this.” he spoke to her calmly while looking into her eyes and gently grabbing her hand. He brought her hand up to his lips and gently placed a kiss on it to assure her that he didn’t mean to put her under any sort of pressure. He was basically asking her to help him case a jewelry store which was something most people would have ever agreed to. So, he would understand if she wasn’t okay with this.[break][break]
Oliver had never really stolen much in his early life due to his family’s wealth. The only things he had ever stolen were alcohol from fancy events that his family hosted, and occasionally he would “borrow” his grandfather’s tobacco pipe without asking. So, he had little to no experience in doing things like this. Despite his lack of experience in thievery, he seemed as calm as usual and looked toward his companion to wait for her answer to his strange proposition.

[attr="class","scroll"] It had only been a few minutes since Oliver had reached their meeting spot. His hands were shoved in his pockets for warmth as he leaned his back against the large tree he had chosen, then he stared off into the distance. His dark hair swayed back and forth with the breeze, but he hardly noticed it because his mind was preoccupied with more important things, like planning the trip. A part of him wanted to see what had become of his home after all these years, but he quickly decided against it, some things were better off left alone. At least for the time being.[break][break]
Mostly because He didn’t want this trip to be about old memories, Oliver was more focused on learning about the outside world and having fun. So, he began thinking about other cities he had read about, cities that were preferably on the same continent he was on now. Because just like with any other mode of transport, the distance was a factor he had to consider when he shadow traveled. [break][break]
So, he finally decided on San Francisco. Although he had read a few things about it, he didn’t really know much about San Francisco. He hadn’t the slightest idea how it would look, but due to seeing it on a map a few times he had a very general idea about how far it was and its approximate direction from here. His train of thought was completely derailed when he heard the faint sound of rustling bushes disrupt the silence. When Oliver looked in the direction of the sound, the first thing he noticed was long curly blonde hair, the sight of Dani brought a small smile to his previously broody face without him even noticing it. Then there was a moment where both Demigods took each other in with their eyes, Oliver hardly noticed her looking at him since he was busy ogling her as well. He particularly liked her oversized jacket. The way it hung over her small frame looked cute.[break][break]
When she finally commented about being underdressed, he arched his eyebrow slightly with an amused expression. Sure, he didn’t know much about modern fashion, but to him her outfit looked good. ”really?.... Underdressed? You do know we aren’t going to a cotillion right?” he spoke with a teasing smirk. He had always disliked formal social gatherings and other events that nobles hosted out of boredom. He usually spent a few minutes dancing with a partner or two at the beginning of the event, then he’d disappear with a bottle of scotch or rum for the rest of the night. Back then he was in his early teens, so booze had to be stolen at parties where adults were too busy gossiping and bragging to notice. [break][break]
From the moment Dani had appeared, his eyes couldn’t leave her. When she stepped closer to Oliver, he pulled his hands out of his pockets and gently placed them on her hips. Without a word, Oliver calmly began pulling her body closer to his until their bodies were only a few inches away from being pressed against each other, then he finally spoke. ” I’m glad you came, Dani.” his voice was calm, his speech slow and effortless while his hands rested comfortably on her hips. Being this close to her made it easy to lean down and kiss her if he wanted to, but he chose not to. Not yet. It was still only four in the afternoon. They had a whole night ahead of them, so Oliver was in no rush at all. for the moment he just enjoyed holding her close and feeling the mysterious chaotic energy emanate from her like an alluring cologne. ” I hope you know a few fun places in San Francisco…. I haven’t been to a good party in three lifetimes. So don’t hold back any of the good places.” he spoke while looking at her playfully. He didn’t even know what a good party looked like these days, he hoped he had chosen a guide who was familiar with that sort of thing. [break][break]
After speaking he pulled her in even closer until their bodies were lightly pressed against each other. Although it seemed like he was being forward, Oliver had pulled her closer to make sure she didn’t slip out of his grip while they shadow traveled. Although Oliver had used that power plenty of times, he didn’t really understand how this ability worked or what happened while he traveled from one shadow to another. So, using it with someone else added a lot of unknown variables. ” alright, so I haven’t used this ability with another person before. So hold on tight I guess… if you slip away or something like that, I’ll come to look for you in the underworld.” he wasn’t even sure she’d end up there if she slipped away while they teleported from one place to another, it was all just speculation.[break][break]
Immediately after he had spoken, the shadow of the big tree he had been leaning on darkened and swallowed them both up. For a second they were surrounded by pure impenetrable darkness that even Oliver couldn’t see through. For just a second the entire world melted away and stopped existing as everything was dark and silent. Then a second later they were surrounded by the bright lights of a foreign environment. Oliver was no longer leaning on a tree but on a random building. His eyes quickly scanned the environment, but there was too much for his senses to take in all at once. His eyes were bombarded with more lights and people than he had ever seen before and the massive buildings that surrounded them almost blocked out the sky. He had read about things like these before but seeing them in person was completely different.[break][break]
Books didn’t do the world justice. Everything here moved, had lights, or made sounds and Oliver got lost in trying to take it all in. At that moment, he removed his hands from Dani’s hips. His eyes, nose, and ears did their best to take in everything around him, from the internal combustion engine vehicles to the weird dress codes and the architecture of the city. ”Dani… Are we in the right place?” he asked her while still looking around a bit confused. Instead of his confusion turning into anxiety, it had become curiosity.

[attr="class","scroll"] It had been exactly six days since Oliver’s run-in with the beautiful daughter of Dionysus, and today was the seventh. Oliver made his way to little Tiber in the afternoon, to meet her again as planned. Dani had been stuck on his mind the past few days but not for the reasons a normal person would expect. Sure, she looked amazing, but that wasn’t what made him think of her. No, it was her easy-going yet adventurous demeanor, the chaotic energy that literally seeped through her pores, and the darkness he could see in her eyes. Those were the things that made her linger in his mind. These things made her stand out from all the women he had met before and made her quite the unpredictable individual, which he enjoyed. During the past six days, Oliver had trained with his powers consistently in order to identify the reason for his power’s malfunctioning when he was with her last week, he really didn’t want to accidentally harm her and further any stereotypes about the children of hades that most campers already believed.[break][break]
Yet despite his consistent and meticulous training over the past few days, he identified no problems with his powers at all, in fact, the more he used them, the more his allegiance with the shadows grew stronger. He was confident that what had happened the other day would never happen again, so an easy-going aura emanated off of him as he made his way to their agreed rendezvous point. As the sunset, the shadows grew stronger and so did his power. The darker his surroundings became, the more his movements became effortless and smooth as if he was literally skating over the evening shadows on the floor instead of walking. The entire time, he couldn’t help but recall the look in her light blue eyes and her chaotic energy that made him homesick for the underworld. He didn’t understand how such intimidating features matched so well with her delicate face, but he didn’t really have to know.[break][break]
Today he wore a pair of black formal pants, a white long-sleeved shirt, and a black sweater on top of the shirt. He accentuated his outfit with a few chains made of pure silver that decoratively hung from the belt loops of his pants. He also wore a ring made of pure silver on each of his middle fingers and a third silver ring on his left pinky finger that had a skull on it. One of the benefits of having a father who ruled all that resided under the earth was the ample amounts of precious metals he had at his disposal. Oliver had always admired silver and platinum for reasons he himself couldn’t understand, gold and diamonds were never really his thing. He hated the color of gold and found diamonds far too flashy for his liking. But silver, silver was just perfect.[break][break]
Oliver wasn’t exactly the most up-to-date with the fashion of today, but he was able to easily transition from his Victorian-era formal wear to something more modern quite easily. He always had a few dark tones in his outfits and he always found ways to incorporate formal articles of clothing in his outfits out of habit. Most of his tastes in clothing were influenced heavily by his training as a young noble back in his day, but his affinity for jewelry was something he had adopted after a year of living with his father in the realm of the dead. His father had never shied away from using accessories, and that was something Oliver seemed to adopt the more time he spent around him.[break][break]
He arrived at little Tiber ten minutes before the time they had agreed on and made his way to the river where he had initially met her. Instead of sitting by the riverbank like last time, he leaned on a tall tree and enjoyed the feeling of being covered by the tree’s shadow. Oliver calmly listened to the soothing sounds of the river flowing while remembering how abruptly he had left her last time. Due to his past behavior, he didn’t know if she would come or not. He wouldn’t have blamed her if she decided not to come considering his skittish departure last week. So, he decided that if thirty minutes passed and she didn’t show up then, he’d take it as a no and continue on his own. His monthly pack had already been delivered so there was no reason anyone would notice that he wasn’t present at camp for at least a weekend.

[attr="class","THREAD1BLCONTENT"] Oliver had become silent while intently staring at the black flames around them. He had been willing the flames away for a few seconds, but they seemed completely uninterested in his wishes, which was weird. Usually, Oliver had a natural psychic link with the shadows around him. Shadows in his vicinity seemed to naturally bend to his wishes, they leaned toward him as he walked by and directly changed in response to his mood. These black flames on the other hand seemed completely indifferent to him. They didn’t mimic his cold and calm demeanor like most shadows under his influence did, instead they were wild and they seemed to lack direction as if they had been created and given no purpose or instruction by the being who made them.
The energy he got from the flames didn’t feel like his own, so he was convinced that they weren’t his creation. Once he had made up his mind that these flames weren’t his, Oliver’s eyes began scanning the area for any other demigods. He had made up his mind on the fact that one of his siblings was playing a prank on him Or even worse, maybe his father was messing with him. Both scenarios were equally plausible, but the latter would definitely be worse since the gods had a much darker sense of humor than any mortal or demigod.
When Oliver heard Dani asking him to turn down the flames, his eyes shifted their focus toward her, he smirked lightly at the joke about getting her hotter. ” I wish I had thought of using flames to get you hotter….but sadly this is not my handy work. I think someone else is trying to get you all hot and bothered.” he spoke calmly before his eyes returned to scouring his surroundings for any spectators. Usually, he would have explained more, but he couldn’t at the moment since even he couldn’t understand the situation fully. His tone made it obvious that he didn’t take the flames seriously yet since he still assumed this was a prank by one of his siblings. For the most part, the flames seemed to ignore both of the demigods. They just continually burned intensely around them without making any further moves. However, When the blonde demigod reached out to probe the flames, they returned the favor.
One of the flames behaved like a tendril and reached out to Dani’s finger as slowly and cautiously as she did, then when her finger was close enough it suddenly reached out and wrapped itself around her finger like a boa constrictor trying to choke the life out of its prey. It tightened its grip while moving up her finger slowly as if it were trying to consume her. The black flame/tendril around her finger felt cold to the touch and the rest of the flames continued burning around them.
”oooh. Looks like someone likes you” Oliver commented with a small smirk on his face as he watched the flame turned tendril make its way up her finger and to her hand. However, his playful expression quickly became more serious when he noticed the black tendril begin to tighten its grip around her finger even more. When he noticed her finger beginning to change color due to the tight grip of the tendril wrapped around it, Oliver finally decided it was time to create some space between them, before his darkness hurt her in any way. ” alright, enough.” for the first time, his voice became stern and serious. The surrounding shadows of trees and animals seemed to cower and recoil in response to the sudden change in his demeanor, then the flames finally disappeared, and their shadows returned to normal. Although he was happy that the flames were gone, he realized that none of his siblings had revealed themselves even after he had spoken up. Which meant this was caused by something else, maybe he had more dark sh*t lurking in him than he thought. Or maybe, she was just a magnet for darkness. Either way, he needed to put some space between them until he figured out the cause of this malfunction in his powers.
Oliver reached down to pick up the book he had intended to read here, then he returned to his standing position and slipped his free hand into his pocket before turning to look at Dani. ” You’re probably the only person bold enough to stick your finger in a random fire. Or is it just bad survival instincts?” he chuckled just a bit while shaking his head in amusement. He wouldn’t have admitted it out loud, but her willingness to test out the unknown had impressed him. ” Anyway, I plan on leaving the camp at the end of the month, after collecting my monthly cigarette delivery. If you’re still interested, meet me here on Friday at four in the afternoon…. If you’re not interested, then Meeting you was still a pleasure.” he gave her a subtle bow, then he began walking away. Hopefully, the barracks would be peaceful enough for him to get a little reading done. .
[attr="class","scroll"] The closer Oliver got to this woman, the more powerful the aura he felt from her became. Her presence excited the darkness within him, and that excitement manifested itself in the physical world through their shadows. Both of their shadows had slowly become pitch black since he had moved closer to her. But of course, Oliver hadn’t noticed that at all, and why would he? His eyes were already content with looking at the blonde demigod and his mind was too focused on their conversation. So darkening shadows seemed rather inconsequential. Oliver looked and sounded quite disinterested and nonchalant while discussing the details of his time skip. But behind his indifferent facade, he actually felt a bit of discomfort whenever he discussed the topic since it inevitably resulted in memories of his loved one’s resurfacing. Luckily, the blonde demigod’s mouth fell open in surprise just in time to provide a bit of comic relief to the situation and put Oliver at ease. Watching her delicate features produce that surprised facial expression allowed him to smile in amusement and escape his thoughts so he could return to the present moment with her.[break][break]
In all fairness, her surprised expression was completely justified considering what he had just told her about himself. Oliver understood just how insane and whimsical his time-travel story sounded. Especially since he couldn’t provide any kind of physical evidence to substantiate his story. He knew that having conversations like this with people would earn him a padded cell and weekly visits from doctors who use words like cognitive and spectrum. But he didn’t really mind if she thought he was crazy. When she asked if he had spent time with ghosts and ghouls during his year in the underworld he released a single chuckle before nodding, ” yeah I did. surprisingly ,those ghosties are a livelier bunch than most of the Romans we have here….but they also taught me that Legends and losers inhabit the underworld as equals. ” the underworld had thoroughly forced several harsh lessons about reality into his head. One of them was to never judge a person by their social status.[break][break]
Oliver had learned the meaninglessness of earthly social status when his family, A noble family was found in the same spot in the underworld as ordinary house servants, gardeners, and other common people. Witnessing that, allowed him to understand that his successes and failures on earth wouldn’t mean sh*t in the long run. While this may have disheartened other people, it allowed him to focus on getting as much fun and pleasure out of life as possible while he could. ” the best we can do while we live is have fun and enjoy each other’s company. ” The last part of his statement carried a bit of a flirtatious tone to it. He couldn’t help but flirt just a little, it would have been impossible not to while looking into her big blue eyes from this range. His dark eyes slowly took in the cute freckles that decorated her face, her delicate button nose, and her full pouty lips. Oliver could feel the darkness within him reach out to something in her. Something remarkably similar to his own darkness.[break][break]
When he noticed her lean forward, he felt something push him forward as well until their faces were only a few inches apart. The darkness inside him was practically reaching out to her madness and could almost touch it. the moment she asked if he wanted her to show him around, he nodded just a little before he verbally responded. ” yeah, I’d like that.” after speaking he closed his eyes, then he closed the distance between them by leaning forward until their lips met. The moment Oliver felt her soft lips against his, something surged through his entire body, he began kissing her slowly while Their shadows combined to form a wide pitch-black circle on the ground beneath them. Without warning Black flames erupted from that dark circle and surrounded them both. Because they were both seated, the flames were tall enough to almost reach their shoulders.[break][break]
Even though they were surrounded by roaring black flames, no additional heat could be felt, so Oliver hadn’t noticed anything while kissing her. Then he slowly pulled away from the slow passionate kiss after a few seconds. His eyelids felt heavy when he tried to open his eyes again, and a small smile was plastered on his face until he looked around and saw black flames roaring viciously around them. The look of confusion on his face made it evident that he wasn’t responsible for this, or at least he didn’t think he was. He hadn’t seen his powers behave like this before, heck he didn’t even know if these were Hades flames, normal shadows, or something else entirely. All he knew is that he couldn’t feel any heat, despite how intensely these flames were burning. Maybe this is why the darkness in him had been reaching out for her so much. Maybe his darkness was like a flammable oil, and it detected something like a lighter living within her. All he knew was that they were dealing with forces that mortals couldn’t understand.[break][break]

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver ran a hand through his messy dark hair while listening to the blonde demigod enquire about his age and how he could be three centuries old. Honestly, he was as confused as her about the circumstances of his life and the forward leap in time he had unwillingly taken. He still remembered his last day in his own timeline and there hadn’t been any indication that his life would take such a weird turn. Oliver had awoken far earlier than what would be expected of a young noble on that day, he vividly remembered how the manor was filled with the scent of breakfast and the sounds of the house servants setting the table and boiling the bathwater. While waiting for the rest of his family to wake up he snuck into his grandfather’s study and used his grandfather’s tobacco pipe while playing the piano to entertain himself. He remembered the sun’s rays being reflected from their silver cutlery, and the soft music playing in the background as he enjoyed breakfast with his family. He even remembered the boring tutor that tried to teach him about politics and the new fencing instructor his family had hired on that day because he had surpassed his last fencing instructor in skill. Then when he finally went to sleep after a long day, he remembers waking up in the underworld three centuries later with no explanation.[break][break]
Obviously, he did all he could to return home or at least find out what had happened to him. Sadly, his father was quite cagey about the details. Whenever Oliver enquired, He was merely told that it was for his own good. But for some reason, he found it difficult to believe that existing in a world where everyone and everything he cared for had died and turned to dust ages ago. At some point during his year in the underworld he became aware that his family was somewhere there too, he stubbornly searched for them despite his father’s warnings. And when he finally found them in the underworld, he instantly regretted it, he wished he had never searched for them at all and did his best to forget the entire ordeal. He preferred to remember them as they lived.[break][break]
When Dani asked if he was a vampire or something, it allowed Oliver to escape his own thoughts and return to the present moment. He forced himself to chuckle and forget about what he had been thinking about before he spoke. ” To be honest with you, I have no idea what happened. I went to sleep on a regular night in May 1703 and then I woke up in the underworld. For that entire year I was in the underworld I was convinced I was dead. Despite being told otherwise…. Sometimes I still think I died centuries ago.” Oliver did his best to act and sound as nonchalant as usual while shrugging.[break][break]
The blonde demigod beside him clearly didn’t enjoy the joke about her age, or the pat on the head. The darkness he had felt in her built up and showed itself in her eyes and her facial expression, but more so in her eyes. Despite the fact that their eyes differed quite a lot in color, when he looked into her blue eyes Oliver saw a look that he often saw when he looked in the mirror. Then when she issued a verbal challenge, he smirked. A beautiful woman telling him to come closer, many men would have swan dived into that situation in a millisecond, But Oliver knew better. Based on what he had seen from her and her general aura, he knew that underestimating her would be a big mistake. Especially if she was as dangerous he assumed she was. But on the other hand, Oliver was never the type of person to shy away from a challenge. As a young man with nothing to lose but his own life, he welcomed risk and danger with little to no hesitation or concern for his life.[break][break]
Oliver calmly looked into her eyes for a second to distract her while using his umbrakinesis to gain control of her shadow, just as a little insurance policy in case she attacked him. Then he began moving closer to her. ”Fine. If you insist.” he spoke while moving closer. He didn’t know what she had planned or why she had issued the challenge, but he was about to find out the answer to both of those questions at the risk of his own physical wellbeing. [break][break] He was raised to be a gentleman, so he didn’t want to get too uncomfortably close to her. He got a bit closer than he had been before, when he attempted to guess her parentage but he refused to get any closer. He maintained a small smile to match her own challenging smirk then he continued speaking while half expecting her to punch the living Hades out of him because of how close he was. ” well, I haven’t been outside of camp.. ever. I intend to change that. But I need someone who is familiar with the world of today to guide me.”

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver slowly inhaled and savored what he knew would be the last drag of his cigarette, then he released the smoke from his lungs while looking at the little stub that remained. It had clearly been used up and had served him well. Once he was done with his cigarette his dark eyes began looking for a suitable place to dispose of his cigarette bud, then he suddenly focused on the river. Before he knew it, his fingers had formed a makeshift catapult and were prepared to launch the stub like a projectile. His left eye closed so he could aim properly, then without warning, he flicked the stub right into the river and smirked a little at his accurate shot. The moment his small projectile hit the surface of the water it released an audible hiss as its last embers fizzled out and it was carried away by the current of the river. Immediately after his little playful cigarette flick, his attention returned to the demigod that sat beside him.[break][break]
Luckily, Oliver had turned around just in time to see a smile grace her features and he took a second or two to enjoy her bright smile. On the outside, he looked as nonchalant and disinterested as usual. But internally, he could feel a part of him being warmed by the blonde demigod’s smile. The warm ember caused by her smile was equivalent to his cigarette stub he had thrown in the river. It lasted for a moment before it was quickly swallowed up by the river of darkness within him and fizzled out. Just like how his stub had fizzled out mere seconds ago. Oliver was slightly phased by the brief warmth her smile had caused in him, but he easily managed to push that thought out of his head for now. When she spoke about liking both of his ideas a small smirk made its way onto his face. Oliver’s troublemaking ways had made him feel like a porcupine in a petting zoo or a piranha amongst salmon. So, being acquainted with other piranha’s that swam these waters was definitely a step in the right direction for the dark-haired demigod.[break][break]
Her question about the origins of his smokes seemed like an innocent enough inquiry so he didn’t mind answering it. ” Once a month father sends a hellhound or a corpse to deliver a pack of smokes and a book. It seems like asking for a lot, but it's all I’ve ever asked him for in three centuries and some change, so I guess it balances out. ” although his father was a particularly difficult man to be around, he was still fair to some extent so Oliver was okay with him. He had never expected the god of the underworld to be nurturing in any way, so his father’s hands-off approach to parenting didn’t bother Oliver at all. He knew Hades cared for him and his siblings, he just showed it in much more subtle ways than most gods. Oliver was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the blonde demigod chuckle at his guess and reveal her parentage and her name.[break][break]
In response, Oliver chuckled at his own horrible guess before he responded. ” fracking I was way off on that one. Dionysus sounds like a really fun parent… please don’t tell me that means you have an immunity to alcohol. That would be more like a curse than a power.” he spoke then paused for a second to take a better look at her. ” Wait, disregard that question. You look too young to be drinking anyway kiddo” he commented teasingly while patting her head gently. He obviously didn’t intend to be mean; he was just playing with her again. In all honesty he didn't even know how old she was. Then he realized he hadn’t reciprocated the gesture of her introduction, so he quickly rectified that in order to avoid being considered rude. ” I am Oliver of house Belmont. But I prefer Olly” a slight hint of humanity entered his tone for just a second as he remembered his family and the simplicity of life in the Belmont manor. ” I have a question for you Dani, do you ever miss the world outside of the camp?”
[break][break] His question would serve as a way of assessing her willingness to venture out of the camp’s borders and if she would potentially be a good guide for him in the outside world.

[attr="class","scroll"] Oliver paused to flick some ash off the tip of his cigarette, then he placed it between his lips and inhaled smoke once again. his cigarette balanced loosely between his lips as he watched her. He had noticed a brief look of discomfort make its way onto her gentle features when he handed her the cigarette box, and that look roused his curiosity. He knew his words couldn’t have been the source of her discomfort, because she didn’t seem like the type that cared for the words or opinions of others. At least That was his first impression of her, but maybe Oliver just wasn’t as good at reading people as he had initially assumed. He quickly shrugged off that thought when he saw the other demigod take the first drag from her cigarette. Oliver watched the blonde inhale deeply and close her eyes, a peaceful look momentarily made its way onto her face. A look that even made Oliver smirk a little, mostly because he knew exactly what she was feeling. ” it’s been a while, hasn’t it? You’re stronger than I am. I would have gone mad after a month or so. ”[break][break]
After speaking he looked back up at the clouds for a moment to think. Then once he was sure about his next statement he spoke. ” from next month onward, feel free to find me around camp whenever you need another cigarette.… or if you ever want to help me mess with the Romans a little.” he looked up at her and smiled a little while watching her sit down next to him. From the first moment he had seen her until now, her blue eyes always seemed pensive, she seemed to always have a lot on her mind for some reason. which was a stark contrast to Oliver’s own empty black eyes. He had no ties to this world at all anymore. Since he had nothing and no one to care for in this foreign world, there wasn’t much for him to think about, except finding ways to entertain himself while he existed. Maybe that was why some of the gods were such frackers, some of them probably just didn’t have any ties to this world and existed to entertain themselves. Like Oliver.[break][break]
Oliver had considered sneaking out of camp several times just to get a better understanding of what the world out there was really like, reading about it in books and hearing stories from other people just wasn’t enough anymore. He wanted to experience it himself. But he had never actually snuck out because he never had a guide from this era to help him navigate the confusing modern world. But maybe, with enough convincing the blonde demigod would help him out with that.[break][break]
Oliver was snapped out of his thoughts when she tossed his lighter back at him. He didn’t move to catch the lighter, instead, he continued laying on his back and allowed it to land on his chest. When she asked him a question he calmly nodded, ” well, I am a child of hades if that’s what you’re asking. However, I’m Not sure if that’s directly linked to my morbid nature since my siblings aren’t the same way… May I attempt to deduce your parentage?” he sat up straight and looked at her closely. A bit too closely, Oliver briefly invaded her personal space to get a good look at her. Then After a few seconds of taking in all her features, he finally spoke ” hmm, big blue eyes with a distant look in them like a sailor at sea, and you have an affinity for bodies of water like the river you were just in. I would guess you’re related to Poseidon. ”

When the blonde stood up, it quickly became easy to notice the absence of a floating corpse in the river. Not even a fish had been harmed by this woman, yet Oliver still felt a strange aura emanate from her. This blonde demigod gave off an aura that made him homesick for the underworld, and since it clearly wasn’t the aura of death, Oliver couldn’t tell what it was. Maybe it was related to her power, or maybe they might have been genetically related. The wild look in her eye, the messy hair and the fact that she was in the river with her bare feet definitely made it seem like she was strange enough to be a child of Hades too. Oliver was convinced that his father had hundreds of kids no one knew about somewhere out there, since Hades had managed to convince the other gods that Oliver was dead for more than three centuries. so, what would stop him from having more hidden offspring?[break][break]
When she finally spoke to him the first thing she did was call him morbid, which amused Oliver a little. He let out a subtle chuckle while sitting down beside the riverbank. Then he watched her scrunch her cute button nose before turning her back on him. ”I apologize, discussing something that is a normal and natural part of everyone’s life is strange and tremendously rude of me. ” Oliver spoke with his usual nonchalant tone which was nearly impossible to read. Then he paused for a second to take another drag of his cigarette and exhale the smoke before he continued speaking. ”its much healthier to completely ignore the concept of death and pretend it doesn’t exist, until it comes for you” Since she had her back turnt to him, Oliver decided to lay on his back and looked up at the clouds to avoid being accused of staring at her gluteus maximus, even though a part of him wanted to. While laying down, he used his book as a makeshift pillow then continued smoking.[break][break]
When she asked to bum a smoke off him, it took a second for Oliver to process the strange question. Luckily, the sentence had “a smoke” in it, which made the slang much easier to decipher. He didn’t feel like sharing this particular cigarette with anyone, so he reached into his pocket and pulled out a beat-up Marlboro box. Clearly, the box had been hidden in several uncomfortable places resulting in the external wear and tear, but luckily its contents hadn’t been squashed. Oliver gave the box a brief shake and felt two objects move around inside it. The first was a small gas lighter, the second object in the box was the last cigarette of the month, which meant he would have to wait for another delivery when the next month began. ”sure.” Oliver sat up straight and handed her the Marlboro box before returning to his previous position of laying on his back, then he took another drag from his cigarette while looking at the clouds. [break][break]
It was probably strange for a camper to have this kind of contraband, but he had managed to secure his supply line before even coming to camp. During his time in the realm of the dead, Oliver and his father had managed to get along due to their shared love of nicotine and literature. As a result of that connection, he had managed to convince his father to send him a pack of cigarettes and a new book once a month. It was the only thing Oliver had ever asked for, and it was probably the only thing he would ever get. So once each month, he would wait for one of his father’s minions, a hellhound, or even a walking corpse to deliver him a package with a new book and a box of smokes. These two necessities were all that kept him sane in this military camp he was always confined to. ” well since we've established that you aren't on a killing spree you may continue your impression of an eerie river spirit. I shall not bother you again.” he spoke while chuckling a little. in reality, she hadn't done anything strange, he just enjoyed messing with her a little.

[attr="class","scroll"] Although Oliver had spent four years in the twenty-first century, he still understood very little about it. Mostly because his time in this era was either spent in a secluded camp for demigods or the underworld. Both places probably weren’t the most accurate representations of the current state of the world today but that was all the young Demigod had as a reference. The scientific and social breakthroughs that humanity had made over the years made Oliver feel like he was living in a fictional novel for children. Flying vehicles, carriages that pulled themselves without horses, and many other whimsical things had been invented while Oliver was in stasis. Even the way humans interacted with each other had drastically changed and it all seemed like too much. So, Oliver’s father had spent a year with him in the underworld in an attempt to allow Oliver to read up on the modern world and adjust before being sent back to earth. But once he had returned to earth, Oliver often found himself yearning to go back to the underworld. Things there made more sense, there was a clear chain of command and a simple order to things that put the young Demigod at ease.[break][break]
Despite the confusing nature of this world, literature slowly allowed him to piece things together. A bit of history one month, a bit of science the next, some sociology here, and a bit of philosophy slowly allowed the young demigod to understand the teens around him and the state of the planet. Today he intended to catch up on science, so Oliver had a copy of Stephen Hawking’s "a brief history of time" clutched in his left hand. A lit cigarette slowly burnt between his lips as he strolled through the forest in search of a peaceful reading spot. Preferably somewhere with a large tree to provide shade, somewhere quiet and safe from the constant chaos of the other demigods. The further he walked, the more the silence of the forest took over.[break][break]
Oliver took a drag from the cigarette he had balanced between his lips as his pace slowed down. Then he calmly released a small cloud of smoke while allowing his completely black eyes to scan the foliage for a comfortable place to have a seat and read. All he could hear now was the occasional chirping of birds and the continuous sound of a nearby river flowing. So, Oliver followed the sound of the water hoping that he’d find a large tree to sit under near the riverbank. But as he walked closer and closer to the river, he felt something strange in the air. He couldn’t really explain it, but he had felt a similar aura in certain parts of the underworld. He took yet another drag of his cigarette and released a puff of smoke as the strange aura in the air grew even stronger the more he walked.[break][break]
“Ahh the river of Phlegethon” Oliver spoke to himself nonchalantly as he finally remembered what part of the underworld, he had felt this strange aura in. Something beyond the river gave off massive amounts of the same unsettling energy he was feeling now. Sadly, his father had never allowed him anywhere near that river while living with him in the realm of the dead. So, Oliver was more than curious about what was giving off this kind of aura in the realm of the living. He followed the sound of the river, as well as the strange energy in the air until he found the source of both. At the epicenter of the strange energy in the air, Oliver found a woman with curly blonde hair dressed in a sundress.[break][break]
Since Oliver had felt this feeling in the realm of the dead before, he initially assumed the woman was drowning someone in the river. He approached from behind her and all he could see from that angle was that she was crouching near the river with her hands in it, so the assumption that someone was being drowned was the only one that made sense. The woman’s golden locks seemed a bit unkempt as strands of hair escaped a loose ponytail. When Oliver stepped closer he accidentally stepped on a twig, which caused it to crack and alert the woman of his presence. When she looked back, he decided to talk since he had already been detected. ”Pleased to make your acquaintance. just make sure you bury whoever your drowning with some food or alcohol. The underworld has long and dreary queues for newcomers. Having a snack would really help .” He spoke bluntly and nonchalantly before taking another long drag from his cigarette and releasing smoke into the air. His British accent was as thick and audible as ever. [break][break] He had been around enough death to become somewhat desensitized to it at this point so even if his guess was right and this woman was indeed drowning someone, it wouldn’t have bothered Oliver in the slightest. But this odd energy in the air on the other hand was definitely something Oliver was still curious about, he could feel his thoughts become just a bit louder than usual.

It is perhaps why Oliver never sticks to one particular woman, enjoying the chase more than the catch and cutting ties thereafter. Translated over to a fight, Oliver likes to make his opponent suffer and takes great gratification in making them die in humiliation. To some extent Oliver is able to play this off as a lighthearted foible, but underneath the man's charismatic mask is the soul of a cruel young man who doesn't mind throwing honor aside if it gets him the win.[break][break]

[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Oliver’s story starts in England during the 18th century. His mother was a young and beautiful lady from a noble house. As with all high-born young ladies, many men competed for her attention, most did so out of love and adoration of her beauty, but others coveted her family’s wealth. For many years men had tried to gain her attention and had failed, until a dark, handsome, and mysterious stranger came into town. The man was clearly not British, he was foreign, and he seemed to be very well-traveled. He managed to successfully court her thanks to his vast knowledge about the world, his vast collection of books and art from foreign lands, and the exciting stories he had accumulated from his travels.[break][break]
This man was much more interesting than the men that had perused her for her entire life, so eventually she fell in love with him. Despite her family’s warnings against it she eventually had this man’s child. Unaware that this man was the Greek god Hades. After nine months, a healthy baby boy was born and was given the name Oliver. By then Hades had disappeared but it didn’t matter, Oliver had been lucky enough to be born into a noble family that was able to provide the best education for a young lord of his stature back in the 18th century.[break][break]
He was groomed for excellence for most of his childhood. But when he turned 16, The Greek gods became aware of a prophecy that involved Oliver. It was said that the young demigod would grow to become a powerful noble and he would use his family’s wealth along with his godly powers to overpower the royal family and take over 18th century England. It was prophesied that during Oliver's rule, there would be wars and bloodshed, not just among mortals but also among demigods. Countless souls would line up to cross the river Styx and the underworld would overflow with the souls of mortals and the offspring of the gods. So, the gods decided to prevent this prophecy from becoming a reality by having Oliver killed. Upon hearing this, Hades asked to carry out the deed himself.[break][break]
Luckily, Hades was incapable of killing his son. Hearing the prophecy about Oliver made Hades feel like it would be a shame to kill his son and waste all of his potential. So instead of killing him, Hades kept Oliver in stasis in the underworld until the timeline for his predicted rule over England had passed. As a result, the royal family continued to rule over England until the modern-day and the predicted wars and bloodshed among humans and Demigods never came to be. Now that the timeline of the prophecy had passed Hades figured it would be safe for his son to go back to the mortal world. So he dropped off an unconscious Oliver at Camp. Initially, it was very difficult for Oliver to adjust to the new world because it was so different from the world he had spent his childhood in. But he eventually adapted. However, he still hasn't lost his original accent and the habits that were instilled in him as a child by his noble family.[break][break]
Hades claimed Oliver as his offspring and although Oliver was young when he first arrived at Camp. His intelligence and his quick developing powers made him a force to be dealt with. Currently, Oliver is 21. Most of the teachers at camp are still a bit wary about Oliver and so are some of the gods. Even though the timeline for his dark prophecy has come and gone, they still believe that he might one day rise to power and fulfill his dark destiny.[break][break]
UMBRAKINESIS : Oliver specializes in Umbrakinesis which means he can generate and manipulate shadows in many creative ways, such as using shadows to conceal his presence, using shadows to create solid constructs for combat and other purposes. Oliver also becomes stronger in dark places and possesses the ability to shadow travel. Which is instantaneously teleporting from one shadow to another. Although extremely useful, shadow travel does tire him out considerably and is used sparingly. [break][break]
Swordsmanship: In 18th century England, swordsmanship wasn't a choice it was an essential part of a young noble's education so Oliver is quite an exceptional swordsman and would have been one whether he enjoyed the practice or not. Luckily he does.[break][break] Hellfire Manipulation: Oliver has the ability to summon and manipulate flames from the underworld. Due to their mystical nature, these flames cannot be put out through conventional means and will burn through most ordinary materials with ease. Oliver doesn't particularly like using his hellfire because it can be quite difficult to put out once it starts burning. He also finds it difficult to manipulate.
