Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Welcome to our site! We are so glad you are here my friend. Pull up a seat, set your weapons down and let's chat. We are a non-canon, percy jackson RP site based in Camp Jupiter. Both Greek and Roman demigods allowed. Legacies are limited. We have a very small word requirement for posting and we're pretty relaxed around here. We like drama but not the RL kind so keep this place nice and friendly. If you've got questions don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome campers and legionnaires alike to Camp Jupiter's first ever Olympic Games. Full of blood, passion, and extraordinary feats of athletic endeavor, this event is sure to have something for everyone. We ask that you look over each event's description before volunteering a sacrifice tribute competitor. Glory and honor await those who are brave enough to compete. Remember, audentes Fortuna iuvat, audentes Fortuna adiuvat, Fortuna audaces iuvat.

CHARIOT RACING
You'll feel as if you're right back in the Hippodrome. Widely recognized as both the most popular sport as well as one of the most dangerous in the Olympic Games. Coincidence? We think not. Chariots will have one driver who will be pulled by a team of four horses. The race will consist of seven laps and will total 8.4 kilometers. Standard boring equine only. Chariots may be constructed with help and adorned with parentage colors or symbols. There are no limitations nor rules regarding the diabolical construction of the chariots.
+
ARCHERY
One of the oldest sports to be featured in the Olympic Games. Guaranteed to always hit its mark in the hearts of its fans. Archers will be presented with various shaped and sized targets at ranges from 100 to an impressive 400 yards away. The Praetors would like to take this moment to remind Legionnaires that using Probatio members as target practice is still forbidden. Godly-gifted archery equipment not allowed. Points shall be awarded for every shot, the archer with the highest points secures the top spot.
+
SPEAR THROWING
The mortals throw javelins, we throw spears. Athletes shall begin the event with a short 400 meter run until they reach the designated area where they will throw their spear that is resting on the ground before them. The farthest shot that sticks clearly and cleanly will win. Spears may not be godly-gifted nor cursed. All spears will first be examined by chaperones before permitted for use.
+
FOOT RACE
Have a collection of Nikes? (And no, we do not mean children of the goddess. And if so, please see the Praetors) then this is the sport for you! The Stadion race will require runners to race the entire length of the stadium. The race will begin at the start of a trumpet blow with running blocks to prevent any false starts. Just a reminder, godly-gifted equipment, footwear nor clothing is not permitted and yes, underwear does count Mercury cabin.
+
COMBAT - HAND TO HAND
A combination of boxing and wrestling with barely any restrictions, this is the wild, no-holds barred center of the Olympic Games. Magnificently simple but deliciously deadly, you may do pretty much anything you can imagine to incapacitate your opponent. The only restrictions being that no weaponry is allowed, no gouging nor biting is permitted. Crying is permissible but highly discouraged.
+
COMBAT - WITH WEAPONS
Slightly less barbaric but no less deadly, this sport is similar to hand-to-hand combat but participants are permitted to use an arsenal at their disposal. There are no limitations nor restrictions. The first person to incapacitate their opponent or elicit a concession wins. There are no time limits nor breaks allotted. Medics have also asked for participants to keep the amputations to a minimum.
+
NOMINATIONS
You can have as many characters participate and RP in as many games as you like.
Only one character per member per Game can be nominated to win that game. Volunteer your tribute Nominate your character/s using the below code.
For fairness, only one character per member can win during the Games.
Once a member’s character has won, the rest of the characters nominated by that member no longer count to win other Games.
NOT SURE HOW THE GAMES WORK? ADDITIONAL INFO CAN BE FOUND IN THE EVENT FAQ.
+
CODE (remove the *, copy and paste for multiple games)
[code]GAME: @tag ( membername )[/*code]
+
OTHER ROLES
You can have characters participate and RP within the Games and outside the competitions as well.
Volunteers, referees, and healers cannot be nominated to win a Game - they're too busy helping out to actually compete!
There can be more than one referee per game; any number of healers; and all sorts of volunteers. Volunteers can be for during the Games as well as during the other events.
+
CODE (remove the *, fill in as many or as few as you like)
How long does the event go for? Three weeks. Nominations for the Games close on May 15, 2021, at some point in the late evening EST. Threads can be completed before the end of the event, or up to one week after.
Can we have characters participate in all three events? Of course! The more the merrier.
Do we have to finish a thread in one event before we can start one with the same character in the next event? Nope, feel free to start threads every which way. If you'd like to do them in order, you can do that, too.
Is there a minimum word or thread count? No, but please remember this is a limited time event when considering word count.
How do we title our event threads? Add [EVENT] to the end of your thread title or as a subtitle.
NOMINATION & PARTICIPATION IN THE GAMES
What's the difference between nominating and participating in the Games? Nominating: signing up a character for the chance to win in a Game. Participating: posting and threading.
Can I nominate characters for the Games but not thread them? A member must have at least 5 posts in the Games board, by any character or combination of characters, to be allowed to nominate. A member who fulfills this requirement can nominate characters in as many Games as they like. A member who has not fulfilled this requirement by close of event will have all nominated characters automatically disqualified.
I want to nominate characters for all the Games, do I have to thread all of them? No, you just need a minimum of 5 posts total in the Games board to be allowed to have any number of nominations.
Does a character need to be nominated to participate? No, any and all characters can participate (RP in threads). Nominating is not mandatory to participate in the Games.
I only have one character, can I nominate them for all the Games? Yes.
Can I nominate Character1 for three Games and Character2 for the other three Games? The same character can be entered to win in multiple Games, as long as that member only signs up one character per Game.
Who decides who will win the Games? The Praetors Winners will be chosen from the nominations, decided by dice roll.
When will the winners be chosen? Nominations close May 15, 2021 in the evening EST. Winners will be drawn at this time.
IN-CHARACTER THREADING IN THE GAMES
Can I thread my character/s participating in the Games with other people? Yes.
Can I thread my character/s participating in the Games with characters who aren't nominated? Yes.
Can I thread winning a round in a Game? The Games will be a tier system IC, so yes you can thread winning against another character. This does not count as, or towards, actually winning the Game. (We recommend using a dice or coin generator to decide who wins in a thread.)
Can I NPC other participants in a thread? Within reason.
Are demigods allowed to use godly powers and divine gifts in the Games? Demigods are not allowed to use gifts to get them a leg up, or powers to sabotage others, in five of the Games. For example, a son of Poseidon cannot waterbend to knock out their opponent in a foot race, and an Apollo kid can't use a divine bow that never misses a shot in archery. Sole exception: Chariot racing. Everyone can go wild. The only thing not allowed in chariot racing is magical equines; normal horses only.
Can children of Mercury / Hermes use superspeed in the foot race? Children of Mercury / Hermes (and any other parentage with this power) are allowed to use superspeed in the foot race as this is not sabotaging other participants - that's a hint if your character doesn't have this ;]
What sort of weapons are allowed in one-on-one combat? Standard Camp Jupiter-issued weapons only.
What sort of powers are allowed in hand-to-hand combat? Nothing that sabotages their opponent, ie umbrakinesis or pyrokinesis.
Ave, demigod! You've made it past Lupa and her harsh training and found your way to Camp Jupiter. Your next halt should be the claims. After that, you might want to check out plotters or simply hit others up via dm to get started! If you have any questions or need help around camp don't be shy or scared to ask your praetors.[break][break]
This site is AU so while we follow Riordan and Greek mythology as closely as possible, some details or situations may be changed or removed as part of site canon.

GODLY PARENTS
We do not allow children of primordials, titans, giants, or deified mortals/demigods. No exceptions.
The following list is just an example of deities that do not work on the site.
For a full list of titans please refer to the Riordian Wiki. There are a few exceptions starting with the third generation. Please ask admins if the one you would like as a godly parent is acceptable.
Admins will accept obscure minor gods as long as the history makes sense (e.g. how their immortal parent met their mortal parent).
Every member is allowed to have a maximum of two children of the Big Three. However, it must be one Greek demigod and one Roman demigod. Also please pay attention to the current creation limits of the Big Three (check the stats below!)
We currently have a Big Three limit of 5 per cabin. Once the limit is reached all future applications won't get accepted until space opens up or the limits will be updated.
Since the gods' appearances are very fluid and can change to their liking, it is not mandatory to base your character's ethnicity off of the available artwork. We suggest sticking with their mortal parent when it comes to their appearance.
+
LEGACIES
When it comes to legacies we will keep them very restricted so check over the claims before you make a whole app designed around it. If you're unsure about your character's general idea or powers please don't hesitate to contact a member of staff! We'll gladly help you.
We only accept demigod legacies, no mortal ones.
We do not accept legacies of the Big Three ( Jupiter/Zeus, Neptune/Poseidon, Hades/Pluto ).
Legacies are allowed to inherit one power from their godly ancestor, however, this ability has to be immensely watered down and cannot be stronger than their godly parent's powers.
+
CLAIMING
They may know about their godly parents and even meet them prior to camp. However, claiming a demigod only happens at camp, a camper will not be "officially" claimed by their godly parent until they arrive at camp.
Upon further reflecting and researching into both Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood archival records, we have uncovered new evidence to verify the claiming procedures of demigods from minor gods and goddesses. On August 18th 2009 an unclaimed demigod, who shall remain unnamed in all due respect, was stricken from this side of Gaia. There had been no fealty with lineage and therefore no proper way to mourn or assist with burial rights. All who had known the unnamed demigod protested with outrage at the sheer heartless act of the unclaiming. It was thereby decreed henceforth that all demigod children whether from minor gods or goddesses to any of the main alike would all be claimed fully.
+
POWERS
Superman is not a thing people. Make your characters with flaws and boundaries. It's not reasonable (or fun) to role play with a character who is the strongest, fastest, and overall best of the best. It's just not a thing and we won't allow it.
We differentiate between major and minor abilities. E.g. Electrokinesis, Hydrokinesis, Mystiokinesis, Charmspeak are all major powers. Control over clothes and make-up, alchemy, shadow travel are considered minor powers.
Children of the Big Three are allowed to have up to 2 major powers and 1 minor power. Children of all other gods are allowed to have 1 major power and 1 minor.
E.g. a child of Aphrodite/Venus may have the ability Charmspeak as major power and the ability to control clothes, make-up, and jewelry as minor ability, or,
a child of Hades/Pluto may have the abilities Necromancy and Geokinesis as major powers as well as Shadow Travel as minor power.
Please refer to the Riordian Wiki for all abilities available. If there is a particular one you don't see on the list don't hesitate to ask staff and we will check if it's possible or not.
+
UNIQUE CHARACTERS
Unique characters are welcomed with minor gods as parents, however, do not try to make them overly complicated. There is no need for them to be some powerhouse, these are young demigods, not gods. They won’t be super-powered, they are still learning.
Admins reserve the right to deny a power if we feel this doesn’t make sense for the character/parentage, i.e. a child of Khione being able to melt rather than freeze something.
We don’t want to hamper creativity but we also can’t have Zeus himself running around camp. If the admins ask you to change something it’s for a reason, if you can’t accept that then this may not be the site for you.
+
HUNTERS OF ARTEMIS
We only have one group of hunters on the site. This group will be made of female Greek demigods, Roman demigods, nymphs, mortals, etc. They do not differentiate between Artemis/Diana but see her as the same goddess.
While they used to have been able to use the Artemis Cabin to stay at Camp Half-Blood, they don't have a cohort to stay at at Camp Jupiter. They will most likely make use of their own tents etc. to build a small lodge within camp grounds.
+
LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
Every member is allowed to have one leadership position per account when you begin. (e.g. Centurion, Cabin Leader if the spot is available).
You may apply for a second leadership position once you have made 60 posts (with any character, post count can be added together if you have multiple characters) and at least two active threads.
Leadership positions cannot be challenged or fought for. It is a first come first serve basis.
Please be active with those characters. If you haven't posted for 1 month without absence note we will remove your character from their position to open up the spot for someone more active.

Ave, demigod! Over the next month, all new threads created may be attacked by the Fates at any time, unless specified in the subheader. All random events will be based on prompts from the randomizer. Please refer to the event guide #2 for further and more detailed information about your character's possible fate.
