[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
[ KINDHEARTED ] - Friendly, compassionate, kind, polite. That's Sophie's natural state, her common personality if you don't get on her bad side. Even then... it takes quite a lot to do just that. She likes to take care of those around her, those who need help, or those she thinks need help. She's 90% friendly or at least polite most of the time and only ever curses if someone pushes all those buttons.Messy people trigger her almost instantly though.[break][break]
[ CONSIDERATE ] - She's always careful not to cause inconveniences or hurt others, takes care of anyone and every one no matter who they are. She knows when to keep her distance or shut her mouth as she can be quite talkative, babbling on and on about potions and herbs.[break][break]
[ RESERVED ] - Sophie has always been on the shy side, her sisters being the loud and popular ones. She always preferred it that way, since she sees herself as not worthy enough of being paid much attention to. She likes the solitude in her cabin with all her herbs and potions where she can hide away.[break][break]
[ STUBBORN ] - Once Sophie has set herself a goal or anything the like, be it the tiniest desire to achieve something, she makes it a mission to fulfill it. She's utterly determined and won't back out of anything (an argument, a fight, etc.) and refuses simple defeat.[break][break]
[ LOW SELF-ESTEEM ] - Sophie was always being compared to her sisters who were born as beautiful as a flower with skin as smooth as a petal, hair like silk, and lips just the right shade of coral. And then there was Sophie: plain, skinny, dry hair and skin. Never really ugly, but never really pretty. Even though Sophie isn't too bad looking as others have told her she just can't see it and finds herself utterly boring and plain. It's difficult for her to feel confident in her looks and powers, or really, anything.[break][break]
[ IMPULSIVE ] - Although she most of the time feels immediate regret and guilt after acting impulsive and doing something wrong, especially whenever she gets someone else into an iffy situation, she can't help herself. But! She always tries to redeem herself even though it often ends up making situations even worse.[break][break]
[ CLEANING FREAK ] - If there's one thing Sophie hates it's: a mess. She has a great dislike towards messiness and chaos, always feeling the need to tidy up and clean wherever she is or who she is with.[break][break]
[ LIKES ] - hats, pastel blue, cooking, sewing, gathering herbs, cleaning[break][break]
[ DISLIKES ] - turnips, dirt, messy people, curses, revenge[break][break]

Tanner Marigold; father[break]
Fanny Marigold; step-mother[break]
Lettie Marigold; younger sister[break]
Martha Marigold; younger sister[break][break]
At camp since less than a year; CLAIMED[break][break]
Tanner Marigold has always been fascinated with herbs, plants, and the overall concept of using them for medicinal use. He owned an apothecary, a traditional one where he sold all kinds of ingredients for herbal medicine, on the coast of North Carolina. Little did he know that one day Circe herself would step into his store as the Sea of Monsters and her island, on which she lived and ran her spa, were located nearby. [break][break]
On the said day she visited his small store to buy ingredients for her potions. One visit turned into multiple as she was bewitched (ha) by Mr. Marigold. He was just as smitten by her as she was by him and even though Circe at one point was tempted to turn him into a guinea pig she didn't. It was his vast knowledge of plants and herbs that she found to be quite useful. Nine months later Sophie was sitting in front of his door in a basket filled with marigold flowers. [break][break]
During the months Circe had vanished back to her island Mr. Marigold had already found someone new, a young woman with hair as golden as the sun. A year later Lettie was born, two years later Martha followed, both inheriting the strikingly beautiful features of their mother. The same golden hair, the bright blue eyes, the rosy lips, and cheeks. They looked like perfectly crafted porcelain dolls. Sophie had inherited her father's dull brown/red hair, brown eyes, and plain features. She was always compared to her beautiful sisters no matter where they went. At school, at the park, whenever their neighbors visited for dinner.[break][break]
Sophie was able to live quite an ordinary life. She went to school like a normal kid, not receiving much attention from neither mortals nor monsters. Her sisters were always in the spotlight. For some reason, she never minded that much, even got used to it. Instead of being part of the school's drama club or soccer team, she preferred to stay with her dad and work at his apothecary.[break][break]
It was there that she started learning about her dad's craft, his love, his hobby, and his work. He would tell her the story about her mother, and Sophie had known for a while that Fanny wasn't her real mother, although the two of them got along well nevertheless. Her dad's work became hers in no time. After school Sophie found herself in the back of the store, mushing together all sorts of ingredients. One day, a book suddenly appeared out of nowhere, as if someone had put it there on purpose. It didn't look like much at first. A herbal medicine guide, about how to brew teas mostly. Mostly.[break][break]
Sophie attempted one of the more difficult and complex recipes at some point after school while her dad was out to run errands when things went a bit... haywire. The tea started shifting colors, sparkled, smelt oddly sweet to her but it looked... alright? Forgetting about it she set it aside only to return with two pigeons frantically flying around the room and her sisters screaming at them. They told Sophie their boyfriends had both tasted the drink and turned into pigeons. Of course, it sounded ridiculous, but when they went to get help, Circe herself appeared. Laughing at the situation.[break][break]
She reversed the spell, turning the boys back into boys, and wiped the memories of Sophie's sisters upon their return. Circe decided to have a little talk with her daughter over regular tea, explaining just the bare minimum about her heritage. She invited her over to liveor work with her at the spa, but of course, Sophie declined, not wanting to leave her dad. Shortly after he passed away after a fatal accident. Fanny Marigold decided to keep the store but only Sophie really worked there, having plans to take it over once she was old enough. Everything seemed to be fine... as fine as it could be that is; when one evening a woman appeared at the store after Sophie had closed already.[break][break]
Sophie told her they were closed and that the woman should come back the next day but the woman didn't budge. Instead, she started mocking Sophie, told her things that made no sense - even after knowing her own mother. She didn't remember much from that night because only a few minutes after the woman had entered the store, Sophie fainted and upon waking up she was alone. The woman was gone but she left her mark, a scar, horrible and ugly, on Sophie's left side of the face. The first time she looked into the mirror and saw herself she only heard herself scream, muttering and praying that this wasn't real. She tried scrubbing it off of her face until the right side was just as red as the scar.[break][break]
One day later Circe appeared, angry and furious. Not at her daughter but at the woman who had dared to put a curse on her - Trivia. Circe didn't say why which Sophie found more than unfair. Her mother only told her she had to leave to camp and find a way to break the curse by herself. There was nothing she could do for her. Circe only gave her a necklace, a golden thread with a ruby crystal shard. Nothing... that could help at all.[break][break]
Begrudgingly, she took it and made the quick trip to Long Island where she found camp with the help of her mother's guide. Although she wasn't the weirdest one of the bunch, she still felt as if she didn't really fit in, hiding her face under a hoodie or a hat most of the time. Fortunately, the cabin she was given was empty. Just when she had made herself somewhat comfortable, Camp Half-Blood was burned to ashes and she was fleeing to another camp, on the other side of the country.[break]

[ EXTREMELY LIMITED MYSTIOKINESIS ] - As a daughter of Circe Sophie has limited abilities to do magic. She can see and sense magic around her but wielding it is mostly done by using potions.[break][break]
[ POTIONS ] - Sophie has a vast knowledge of all sorts of herbs and magic ingredients used to brew potions. Inherited by her mother this is her favorite hobby, as you could say, and she can be found scurrying through the woods and random places to find what she needs. Potions, however, can be as tricky as regular magic, although much easier to work with as the books containing information are easier to find. It's sometimes a bit difficult to get the right amount of ingredients right and oftentimes Sophie's potions end up exploding all over the place.[break][break]
[ TRIVIA'S CURSE ] - Being stuck in a battle between two powerful witches, Sophie was cursed by Trivia in revenge for Circe having cursed her son. She stripped all the beauty away to make her mother pay. Sophie was given a scar, a mix of burns and scorches, that covers half of her face which only fades at night. Despite looking young her body could be compared to that of an old woman. She tires easily and quickly, especially when training. Sophie cannot talk or tell anyone about the curse, if she tries her lips won't move and not even a single word will slip out.[break]
