[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Avery is one of those people who what you see is what you get. She tends to wear her emotions on her sleeve, and when she is happy she is clearly happy. When she is sad or mad it's blatantly clear as well. She does not safeguard her emotions or feelings, choosing to care and love for others without worry or pause whether it's asked for or not. She tends to always keep a positive outlook on everything. She is a very hard person to make angry, she can quite easily overlook a lot of rudeness and anger from others without it bothering her in the slightest. Though, if someone hurts her family she has an angry side that is best left alone. She is an empathetic person and is very caring even towards complete strangers. She's eager to make friends and will do her best to get strangers to open up to her. She enjoys singing and can usually be found humming or singing out a tune while cleaning around the cabin. She favors the arts and crafts and camaraderie side of camp instead of the harsh training side. She hates training and will go to whatever lengths necessary to avoid doing it. She does like to rough house with her siblings occasionally though and loves them with her whole heart. She is very loyal, and would go to the ends of the earth to help those who she loves.[break]

Catherine Vitalis was a single mother raising her demigod child Zephyr the best way that she knew how. The woman had known who the boy's father was and exactly what he was. The boy's childhood confirming it all with striking clarity. Around the time that the boy was seven, he was getting into trouble more and more frequently. It was also around this time that Catherine met a human man named Jaymes Barringer who worked in the Marine Biology department at Boston University. He was an avid ancient Greek history buff, handsome, and kind to everyone he met. Avery's mother had been working at the University as a translator and the two hit it off immediately. The courtship and marriage happened in a mere one year's time and before the ink was dry on the marriage certificate, Catherine was pregnant with Avery.
She had thought that the child was James's. Everyone thought the child was his. Avery was a happy baby, a trait that would carry on throughout her childhood and beyond. Her mother couldn't ignore the things that had surrounded her son. The people who wanted to harm him. The unexplained things that happened. Avery was completely different.
[break][break]Avery rarely got upset. She didn't seem to see things that weren't there. Looking back now, one could say it was more than likely due to the fact that Avery rarely sat still long enough. Or perhaps that she never cared to look for scary things around her to notice the things that were always lurking. She didn't see the bad things both mortal and non did in the world. She was bubbly and bright. She liked meeting new people and ceaselessly wanted to spend as much time as possible with her older brother who was away more often than not. On the whole, she had a very shielded life. Until she turned 15. [break][break]
Avery had gone with her father to check out a collection of swords that he had purchased from a fellow collector online. They had pulled up to the residence and her father and the stranger immediately began speaking. Avery had kept her hands in her pockets as she walked along the table that held beautiful blades, a strange urge to hold one suddenly gripping her. She had moved to it, her fingers touching the blade that was practically begging for her to pick it up. She had turned to ask her dad if he knew anything about it when the woman who he had been talking to changed into something from a nightmare. [break][break]The creature had been a harpy in disguise, hoping to make a meal of the demigod. Avery's father had ran towards her but the creature grabbed him with deadly talons, causing him to yell out in pain before she shoved him out of her way where he ceased to move again. Avery screamed, her hands moving immediately to shield her face from the creature. Instead of cowering like she had planned to do, her arm reacted instantly, her muscles extending the blade forward to the creature. She was much too slow to actually hit it, but it had been enough for the creature to retreat. Circling her, Avery held her shaking arm out, the blade pointing at the monster. The harpy dived again and Avery blocked the outstretched talon that had been meant for her face immediately. The creature hissed in pain as the blade made contact. Again the creature lunged and again Avery blocked the blow as natural as she was breathing. She didn't know why or how she knew what to do, but didn't have time to think about it. The creature shrieked and Avery had began shaking so badly that she dropped the weapon, the monster lunging for her. Avery closed her eyes, but the blow never came. [break][break]
Avery opened her eyes and before her stood not the creature, but a figure in an ethereal glow. He dusted off his suit, presumably from the dead creature dust that had landed, and told her who he was. Avery had ran to the man who she had called father for her entire life but he was no longer in the land of the living. One snap of Hermes's fingers and Avery and her father were both back in their family home. Her mother had screamed before she began crying, Avery with tears that matched hers. Hermes told Catherine that Avery was his child. That he had deceived her one night and the man who she had thought she had made another life form with was not actually Avery's father. He told her what she already knew, where to send the girl. Numbly Avery held out her hand as Hermes put a silver bracelet in the palm of her hand. As she closed her fist around it, the bracelet turned into the sword that she had wielded. Catherine never was the same. Her mother sent her away immediately, calling her brother to take her to camp. [break][break]
Along the way Zephyr told her all that he could of the camp and what her life would look like now. She mourned her father and forever would, but she also knew he would want her to live her life. To be the girl who he had known, who he had raised. Despite her godly parentage. She was claimed upon entry at camp and though she wrote to her mother weekly, the woman told her not to visit and after a year the letters to her stopped coming altogether. So Avery turned camp into her new home and that was that. She had been at camp for four years before it was destroyed. Her brother hadn't been there and she hadn't been able to reach him so on she went to the Roman camp.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]POWERS, SKILLS & WEAPONS
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Avery's main power is swordsmanship. She has a superhuman natural ability to wield a blade. The reflexes and moves come up instinctively. She can almost sense what her opponent is about to do, her body reacting accordingly as if it was created exactly and solely for that purpose. On the rare side when she's been forced to handle the blade she has won. Every time. The downside is that she refuses to use it. She quite literally would rather someone pummel her into the ground than actually use her gift. At all. [break][break]
Her minor power is transfiguration. Which sounds very impressive, but alas, it is not. She can't exactly turn something into something else at will. She sometimes can't even turn something else into another something else with lots of practice and concentration. No, that would be too easy. This power seems to happen randomly and at the will of the power itself. She could be touching her brother's hat and it might accidentally turn pink. She could be holding a flower and it might turn to a rock. It happens on occasions that are very few and far between and when it does she quite literally has no control over it.
