Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

She couldn't stand all the people. The games and the welcome feast were fine - she loved the crowd, the energy, the competitiveness. She had looked forward to this day for a while; it was something fun and different and she could lose herself in the chaos. Granted, she didn't actually take part in any of the games because she didn't actually want to get beat up by every Roman from every cohort, and Dani wasn't stupid enough not to realise she wouldn't be able to hold up very well against them, anyway. The only reason she had survived the last War Games was because she'd used her madness on unsuspecting legionnaires who'd assumed she was just a damsel in distress. Use of powers against others wasn't allowed in five of the games, meaning she'd have to rely on her physical prowess, and Dani didn't have a lot of that.
But still she had enjoyed, flitting from one arena to the next, eyeing up boys and flirting with anyone who caught her eye. She laughed at jokes and got into a few bets just for the sheer fun of it, the whole time sprinkling a bit of her madness wherever she went. It wasn't as though she could control it very well, anyway, and it, too, was feeling alive at all the demigods who were far too invested in their search for glory than to realise it had seeped in between their pores and flooded their blood.
Now, though, was the part of the day she had looked forward to the least. Dani didn't want to acknowledge death. She didn't want to think of all they had lost, because it reminded her of what she had lost. The daughter of Dionysus would gladly throw herself off a cliff just to escape those memories, and she had done marginally well for the last few years - and now, she would need to stare it in the face and light up lanterns about it? No, thank you. It was all well and good to pay tribute to the demigods who'd been lost in the fire, but what about her losses? What about the mortals whose lives had been taken just by association with her? When did anyone else care about them?
No, Dani wanted to have no part in it. And so it was that she hid in the woods, having stolen a bottle of Roman alcohol that had been served at dinner. She would take whatever punishment came her way - and she was sure it would be inevitable and brutal - but Dani needed to not be sober tonight. She needed to be out of her thinking brain. The first few lanterns floated up and Dani could see them from where she sat on the ground, staring up at the sky. She lifted the bottle to her lips and prayed for the oblivion, the lights of the lanterns dancing in her eyes as she fought not to remember.
Elise had never been one for crowds, too many people around tended to make her feel like she was suffocating, and these welcome events had certainly felt suffocating. It'd be rude not to take part in some of the festivities the Romans had graciously, or more likely begrudgingly, organized for the Greek campers. The daughter of Hephaestus had made herself rather scarce compared to her compatriots, sitting far away from anyone else while she watched the weapon combat event, making an effort to find a quiet corner during the welcome feast. Anything she could do to avoid other people.
Although she would have rather gone back to the empty barracks after a long day of avoiding people, Quill supposed she was obligated to attend the Lantern Festival, even if she hadn't known many of the campers who hadn't made it across the country personally--she hadn't really known anyone from camp personally, really. A feeling of guilt settled in the pit of her stomach, everyone else was here because they had lost someone, and she hadn't taken the time to know those that were lost. The teen was sat far away from anyone else, watching the lanterns from a distance, it wasn't as though she could adequately share in the grief of her fellow campers. The flames reminded her of the ones she could make and she idly wondered if that was how they had lit these lanterns, another demigod who could conjure flames from nothing.
Seeing the abundance of lanterns floating in the air, Elise knew there were several campers lost when camp fell, and not being able to name one of them was upsetting. She tried to distract herself with the mechanics behind the lanterns instead, which got boring quickly seeing as they worked on the same principle as hot air balloons. The demigod felt awful for thinking it, but this event wasn't interesting enough to keep her focused on anything happening, she needed to do...anything else. The redhead pushed up from the spot on the ground she had been sitting on, brushing off any dirt from the back of her jeans as she wandered around the area, searching for something that wasn't tinged with the death of those they had lost that she couldn't remember.
As Quill looked around for an escape, a wooded area caught her eye, it reminded her of the woods back at Camp Half-Blood, where she'd frequently escape to when she couldn't work on a project instead. The woods were always good for getting away from other people, usually a bit too dangerous with the monster presence for most to find solace among the trees. With her firecrackers on her wrists, however, the daughter of Hephaestus always felt prepared for conflicts that may arise. As she had expected, the woods were mostly deserted, or so she thought until she almost quite literally stumbled into another person who had been sitting on the ground.
The demigod wasn't the best at faces, but she was sure she had seen this girl's enough to know she was Greek. Not wanting to interrupt the moment the other demigod was having with a bottle of something that must have tasted quite good, Elise settled for leaning on a tree instead. "So you gonna share, or keep all the good stuff to yourself?" she asked with a smirk, perhaps it hadn't been the right question to ask, but it'd be a lie if Quill said she didn't want any.

There was a crackle of twigs as someone approached, but Dani didn't look up. It didn't matter who caught her out here, be they Roman and centurion or Greek and cabin leader. It didn't matter if they sympathised or not, if they wanted to scold her or not. None of them or anything else mattered, because Dani was doing the one thing she had always strived to never do: slip into the darkness in her mind and allow the madness to take over. It was a combination of the emotions brought about by the f*cking lanterns, only made worse by the alcohol working through her veins. This was what happened to people who hadn't had a sip of it in months: tolerance lower than any reasonable, workable amount, that was what.
It was through the haze of darkness that Dani heard a female voice ask her if she was going to keep the bottle to herself. A part of her wanted to throw the middle finger up and wave them away, bring their own demons or escape plans somewhere else and not anywhere near the daughter of Dionysus. If everyone was using tonight to pay tribute to their fallen, well then Dani would like to be left alone with her own, even though she was hardly going to be paying tribute to anyone. Drink herself into a stupor was far more likely in the cards for her tonight.
But perhaps the madness had already taken over more of her brain than she'd anticipated, because Dani did nothing more or less than to pass the bottle over, before she rested her back leisurely and haphazardly against a tree trunk, her eyes never leaving the flying lanterns. A part of her soul was flying up with them, desperate to be free and to escape. The lowered barriers allowed a chilly breeze to sweep through the woods, but despite the cold numbing the tips of her fingers, Dani felt the hole in her chest was far colder than any other part of her body.
"The barriers are down," she murmured, as though to herself. An idea was trying to form in her brain, trying to tell her there could be so much fun that could happen with this fact. Another crackle reminded her that she had company, and Dani sat up again, bits of tree in her hair as she looked up at the person who had joined her. It was another Greek, Hephaestus cabin if she remembered correctly. A crazy thought entered her mind with that revelation. "Heph kid, right? Do you know who burned down camp?"
Considering she seemed to have interrupted what could only have been interpreted as a moment, Elise was surprised the other demigod actually passed the bottle over. The redhead glanced at the bottle, before taking a swig, it had Latin on the label meaning it certainly hadn't made the trip 2,000 miles across the country--she wasn't sure where in camp it had come from, but she wasn't going to question a free drink. Though the daughter of Hephaestus wouldn't call herself an alcoholic, she'd shared a few glasses of wine with her mother in New Rome since arriving at Camp Jupiter when they met for lunch. This wasn't nearly as high end as what her mother kept, from what she could tell, so it likely hadn't been swiped from anyone in the city.
Quill followed the other girl's lead and took a seat on the ground with her legs crossed before passing the bottle back, one drink was enough for now. The breeze that passed through the trees was unusual, considering Camp Jupiter's weather, much like Camp Half-Blood's, didn't change from a comfortable temperature often. The demigod was glad she had worn her leather jacket tonight, a welcome reprieve from the cold. If she was more comfortable with her powers she'd conjure a bit of fire to warm her hands, but uncontrolled fire in a wooded area led to wildfires, and Elise had learned enough about preventing those growing up as a California native, even if she was from the Bay area to know it was a bad idea.
The mechanic's thought process was interrupted by the other demigod mentioning that the barriers were down, not the smartest idea with roughly 400 demigods in one concentrated area--who knew what monsters were lurking on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel, looking for demigods to attack. She was suddenly very glad she had her bracelets with her to defend herself if needed. The other girl's comment was met with a snort, "No, I've got no idea." she admitted, "If it was one of my siblings though, they owe me for half my crap burning." the redhead added, she hadn't been expecting the other demigod to know her parentage, but she supposed she now needed to try and remember which cabin she was from.
"You're...from one of the cabins that starts with a D, not Demeter..." Elise trailed off as she picked at some leaves on the ground, the wine told her that she was likely Bacchus but that's not his Greek name, and of course her mother had taught her of the Roman pantheon as a child. "Oh!" she exclaimed, "Dionysus, that's his name." she elaborated her little eureka moment. "Sorry, I still can't remember half the Greek names for the gods." she apologized, she should know their names, considering her Greek heritage, and it probably sounded weird that she didn't know them, but she had years of Roman teachings that she'd been trying to unlearn at Camp Half-Blood.
As soon as the Heph girl told her she had no idea, Dani deflated, slumping back down against the tree, the rough bark merciless on her back despite the clothes she wore. Not that it mattered; the daughter of Dionysus was well on her way to getting drunk. It was one of the few small mercies she had of being half human. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to need so much alcohol to get even the littlest bit drunk. At least her human side allowed her to lose tolerance, and while she'd been salty about it at first, as the beginnings of oblivion flickered at the edges of her vision, Dani found herself marginally more thankful that she could get to the pass out stage faster.
Then again, perhaps that was only the madness in her soul letting her brain know it had taken over. Not that Dani doubted in the least that it would - it had been what she had been hoping for, after all. The daughter of Dionysus was just about to reach for the bottle when she looked down at her hand and found her fingers were already holding on to it. Strange, she didn't remember the exact moment when the girl had handed it back, but it didn't matter now. Tilting her head back and feeling her hair catch on the bark of the tree but not really feeling it, Dani poured more alcohol into her mouth, not caring that it burned down her throat and up her nose and activated her gag reflex. She was going to get through this as quickly as she could.
When she'd sculled as much as she believed she could, Dani straightened, lowering the bottle back to her side. She didn't know when it had happened, but her face was already wet from the tears she had inadvertently shed, partly from sheer desperation and hopelessness, partly from the burn of the alcohol as it warmed her insides. The blonde demigod wiped the back of her hand against her cheek, making a mess of the light make up and spreading dirt over her cheeks, but she was well past the point of caring. "Drink," she said, handing the bottle to the girl without looking at her, instead fixing her gaze back to the sky.
They were so far and so pretty and Dani spread her arms to the sides, tilting her body upwards as though she could lift off through nothing but her own willpower. Imagine if she had been a daughter of Zeus, able to just fly up into the sky through her own abilities. She could have struck that dammed monster with lightning and knocked him right off his smelly little monster socks. Maybe she wasn't close enough to the sky - it definitely didn't feel like it. How else was Zeus going to adopt her for his own, and turn back time, and teach her a whole new life? Before the bottle could even be offered back to her, Dani had snatched it back and it swung haphazardly from her loose fingers as she fought to stand, using the tree for balance. As the blood rushed from her head and she felt her body warm as the alcohol circulated even better throughout her limbs, she pointed a finger at the other girl in one last moment of lucidity. "Don't look for me." And with that, Dani stumbled off deeper into the forest, her soul calling out to the darkness and imploring it to take her whole.
