Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

The boy, whom she held aloft in the air, commented on the possibility of her wards failing and she wondered if perhaps he had a death wish. Sure there were lots of things around camp that she wasn't good at but magic was not one of them. She wouldn't consider herself a cocky or arrogant person, but she knew where her strengths lay. Warding dreams wasn't particularly hard either, at least not for her. It was a mini version of the same magical system that protected camp's borders.
Realization slammed into her like a freight train. Camp Jupiter's wards were malfunctioning randomly at different areas. Children from Trivia had been asked to monitor those wards on a regular basis now. It was possible that whatever magic force that was weakening the camp's wards could potentially affect her own.
She set the boy down, her thoughts running wild as he seemed to be gathering himself together. She realized that, perhaps, he possibly might not actually be responsible for last night's events. Which meant she owed him an apology. He suggested that she might have dropped her wards down by accident and she shook her head. "No. I wouldn't do that. They're not tied to my emotional state. They're based on the same binding the camp's wards have just in a smaller amount and triggered subconsciously and not physically." She didn't know if he knew anything about the camp's borders malfunctioning randomly but as he spoke about people not usually seeing him she felt a small tinge of heat creeping into her cheeks.
"I hadn't considered the wards could malfunction. They've never failed me, but that's not your fault. I'm sorry." There. That hadn't been too hard. Pity Camp Jupiter didn't have a card shop. She could use a 'sorry I undeservingly put your life at risk' one right about now. Aelin thought a little more about why she was able to see him. If that wasn't normal for him then what exactly did it mean? Were they being warned about something? Was there something they weren't seeing? She didn't know the answer to any of those questions. "Well, I don't know if you remember or not, but you weren't exactly front and center. It was more like you were an extra in the background of a movie." She gave a small half-smile at the memory. He hadn't been an active participant, which again could hold a whole host of meanings.
He spoke about his powers, confirming what she had seen of him in her dreams. He seemed to be truthful and she had no issues pressing him further on the matter. Their situation was, in all probability, a fluke. As he continued, talking about being in the middle of so many people's dreams she frowned slightly, her brows pressing together, "Sorry. That sounds awful. Can you not make yourself stay inside your own dream?" A small bit of curiosity edged into her. She wondered if it would be possible to make a charm that would allow him to stay inside of his own head. She didn't know if there was anything like that out there though. Plus things tended to get iffy when it came to dealing with godly gifts. She could try to help him to only bind him to his dream world forever or something equally awful.
The boy spoke up again and she listened in silence as she contemplated his offer. On one hand, allowing someone to manipulate something that she was already manipulating seemed like it was just begging for something bad to happen. On the other hand, if her wards failed her again, she had no desire to see the things that she had witnessed last night. Plus, she had more than likely scared him enough to guarantee that he wouldn't harm or scare her on purpose so really she didn't have much to lose. "Would that require me to lower all of my wards or could you work around them?"
Aelin nodded along as he spoke. Practice was key. In every aspect of life, if someone really thought about it. Nathan mentioned he'd like to borrow the books and Aelin smiled, "Sure. No problem. I can drop them off at your barracks later." Her books were actually inside of the same building the she was walking in the direction of. It would be no issue to drop the books off later. She would have to pass by his barrack to get to hers later that night anyway.
She gave a small laugh when he mentioned not getting the centurions mad at you. That was definitely one of the first of many rules that someone needed to learn quick once arriving. Don't upset the Praetors. Don't sneak out of camp. Obey the centurions. Pledge your loyalty to Rome. It wasn't very hard to figure out what was expected of you. Sometimes knowing what you should do and actually following through with that knowledge were two very different things though. She, thankfully, had never upset her Centurion as much as Nathan was hinting at, but never say never.
Nathan confirmed that he was into fitness and Aelin made a soured face as he said it was important. She knew that. Truly she did, but as much as she knew theoretically that she needed to work out, she could never summon up the energy to do so. "I guess." She listened as he very kindly recommended that she find something she enjoyed doing and her head titled to the side in thought a moment before speaking again. "Hmm. I guess I could bring a book to read on the treadmill or something." She would much rather spend the time reading in the garden, but that was a start. Little baby steps that could add up.
Aelin looked over at him as he recalled his second year of training. She nodded along at the advice. She didn't plan on getting into trouble. She wasn't the sort, but the advice was still something she could use. "I haven't gotten into much trouble thankfully, but I appreciate the advice. Best not to take anything too seriously." When it came to the formation tip she tried to take a mental note of it and store it away. Though if she was honest, she wasn't exactly sure how she would manage doing that. In theory that was sound advice, but in practice she could barely hold the thing up, much less keep someone away with it. When he said to stick close to someone bigger she laughed. That was the kind of advice she could follow. As they finally made it to the building she nodded in reference, "Well, that's my stop." She turned back, a genuine smile on her lips, "Thanks for the company and good luck out there." She doubted he would need it, but it was worth saying anyway.
An embarrassed laugh came from Aelin's lips when he said he was impressed. She didn't find that personally impressive, especially not when it was matched against the abilities her cohort mates tended to have. Sure she could wield and bend the mist at will, but give her a sword and she was practically useless. She had no skills in weaponry or anything practical that the romans considered useful. "It takes a lot of practice. There are a few books I can loan you if you're interested? They helped me with the trickier variations."
Aelin nodded when he mentioned it was good to be on the centurion's good side. "True. With all of the Greeks coming in they might let a few things slide, lots of other things to worry about." She shrugged, thinking more on the subject. Her head tilting to the side just a bit before she added, "Although the extra pressure might make them more rigid about the rules. Guess it's better to not find out."
It was Aelin's turn to be impressed as he mentioned the fitness area. An area which she tended to avoid, second of course to the Ludus. "Into fitness huh?" There weren't too many Romans who weren't into some level of fitness or training, but she was always outside of that circle. "I've never been very good at working out. I always get bored." She gave a small laugh, a light shrug of her shoulders.
They began walking along and Aelin was thankful they hadn't passed anyone who outranked her. She didn't want to think about the punishment that was surely coming. She could lie of course and more than likely find some way out of the problem, but that wasn't her. She might not be Roman in the same aspect as the rest of the legionnaires. She couldn't defend it with sword or shield and she was rubbish in formation but she was Roman through and through when it came to honor. That and a bit of pride as well.
Nathan began walking with her, mentioning that he had been there five years. Aelin nodded, "Nice. I'm in my second." He mentioned making an impression on the drill field and she laughed lightly again, "Well Kudos to you. If I made an impression, it most definitely wouldn't be a good one. I'm terrible at it. I can never remember the formations." Or hold her sword and shield appropriately. Hence why she was always in the back of the line and rightfully so. "Any tips?"
Aelin tucked a strand of dark hair behind her ear, her smile turning sheepish before she replied, "I've been studying Latin since I was child so it's not really hard per say. It's just hard to keep my head in the class." She had, on a few occasions, wished that something had challenged her. She was sure once she got a few more years under her belt and the closer she got to serving her ten years, the more challenging it would become. As it stood however, it was all she could do to keep awake. Her teachers tended to see her lack of attention as a personal attack on their teaching, despite her assurance that it was the opposite, she tended to do a lot of PT.
Aelin laughed lightly when the boy began looking around for prowling centurions. She hadn't seen one yet so she assumed they were probably in the clear. She doubted they'd let the infraction go if they had been in the area. She had seen them post punishments for far less. "I think you're in the clear." Nathan made a joke about Latin and she looked over at him, a small grin on her lips, "Not your thing eh?" She couldn't blame him of course. Latin wasn’t exactly the easiest language to learn. Roman demigods seemed to take to it more naturally than mortals, but that didn't mean it was easy. She heard the Greeks naturally took to ancient Greek which of course made sense. She made a mental note to ask one of her Greek half-siblings if the Latin spells were harder to read or not.
Nathan agreed to walk with her and she nodded, a pleasant smile on her face before she began moving towards the Trivia building. The walkways were still clustered with people. Not as many bodies as there had been before, but much more than usual. The camp itself had almost doubled its normal camper number. Orange Camp Half-blood t-shirts filled the area and she wondered if they had their own schedules yet. She didn't know how well they'd take to Roman rules. Her heart ached for them, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't wary of them all. Aelin turned her attention back to Nathan. "So, how long have you been at camp? I think I've seen you around before. Maybe at the last war game?"
Aelin's eyebrows scrunched just a moment as the boy, who she was suspending by a single foot in the air, sassed her. As if she didn't know who he was and who his godly parentage was. As if she hadn't put two and two together already. Then she realized that he had misunderstood what she had meant by seeing him in her dreams. Heat immediately bloomed over her cheeks and she shook her head, "Oh gross. You wish. That's not what I meant."
Suddenly it all must have clicked for him however as he pointed his finger at her. He seemed to be in shock that she had seen him and she wondered if perhaps she had held him suspended too long. She managed an eye-roll while still keeping him held aloft. "Yes. Of course I saw you. I told you…my mother is Trivia. I've been warding my dreams since I was child."
She asked why her, expecting a clear reason. Perhaps he was bored? Maybe it was a challenge? Maybe he was going in alphabetical order? She was not expecting him to give her a quizzical look, as if she was a science experiment gone wrong. He began mumbling through reasons, none of them one that he sounded the least bit sure of. She wasn't sure if she should believe him or not, though it would explain why he had been so caught off guard by her retaliation. She was edging towards letting him down softly when he mentioned that he merely watched it. Aelin's eyebrows rose, "You just watched?! My dreams are not your own personal Netflix."
She was half-tempted to raise his height up a good foot or two, but he asked her to set him down, complaining that he was going to pass out. "Fine. But don't try anything." She couldn't remember how skilled with weapons he was, but she hoped her display would at least make him think twice about retaliating. Aelin begrudgingly raised her hand, letting him slowly come back down to the ground. She didn't even drop him for the last three inches like she had been tempted to do. She waited for him to get himself together before she spoke. "I can count on one hand the number of nightmares that I've had in my entire life and you're actually suggesting that the first time I have one at camp, and see your face in it, it was some sort of fluke?" She hoped he was going to offer more than that in his defense.
Normally, Aelin wasn’t prone to anger. Normally, it took a lot to make her upset. Everyone had their buttons though, and hers was her father. The one mortal she had in her life that meant anything. The only one who meant everything. She watched him, still not entirely convinced that he wasn't simply trying to talk his way out of it all. "What are your gifts?" She asked curiously. Gifts could be telling. He could lie, again, of course but she could always find out for herself. If that happened, he'd have a whole lot more than being suspended in the air to worry about.
She replied to his implication with a shrug. "I'd say a child of Trivia is the best case scenario to have something like this. I can't imagine the special kind of torture that one of the Mars kids could inflict with it." She made a face that made it very clear that she was not interested in anything that option offered. She didn't mind the Mars kids, but there was no denying that when it came to certain things, they were not her favorite people to deal with. She tended to stay as far away as possible when it had anything to do with fighting or training.
Nathan asked what class she was late to and she replied with a sigh, "Latin. I don't mind it, it's just a little boring." She had been reciting Latin since she was a child. Most of the spells that she had practiced and perfected were all in the language. Now while she sat in class it was hard for her to concentrate. Most of the time she ended up daydreaming. Had she not been so prepared to answer questions when the teacher called on her, she knew she would have gotten a ton of PT.
The boy tossed the apple that he had been chewing on over his head and Aelin gave a small laugh with a shake of her head, "Don't let the centurions catch you doing that. They'll have to cleaning the tile for weeks." Aelin shifted the weight of her backpack as she listened to him mention his next class. She hated marching. It was hands-down her second least favorite thing at camp. She made a sour face, "I'd rather have Latin." She laughed softly. "Although, it is nice when we have new people. Our instructor is usually a little lighter on the expectations."
She glanced at the clock hanging in front of the barracks and nodded towards the direction of the marching ring. "I'm going that way if you want to walk together?" She gave a half-grin, "Maybe it'll give me a little bit of cover from my centurion if I'm spotted." The Trivia storage room was on the way to the marching ring and she wouldn't mind having a little bit of company.
The boy asked her if she personally thought it was safe and she found herself grinning, absolutely amused at the level of fear in his words. "That depends on who's wielding it." She knew that didn't answer his question, but it was a perfectly logical response. Sure, it would effect anyone who touched the contents, there were certain people though who could easily manipulate the serum. Children of certain gods or goddesses who could magnify or negate the serum entirely. Even among her own siblings there would be variants in the ways the serum worked and functioned.
She had never had to directly use the contents of the vial, not in its purest form like the bottle was in now, but she had used it in various spells before. It was an ingredient needed for certain spells that the camp applied to their borders monthly.
The boy gingerly handed it over, in an apparent need to get rid of it quickly and she found herself grinning. It was rather funny to see such a larger person terrified of a small bottle. She had thought that telling him the contents of the vial would put him at ease, but instead he gave her a wider berth. "Relax, it's perfectly safe inside this vial. It's charmed not to leak and even if it did, you'd have to get it directly onto your skin for it to work." There were sometimes ways to make it airborne but that hadn't been done in ages. It wasn't exactly ethical.
The boy stepped back further and had the contents of the vial not been so expensive and rare, she might have pretended to toss it at him. Instead she thanked her lucky stars that the bottle was back into her hands and slipped her pack off, finding the opening and un-zipping it. Aelin slipped the bottle inside and made sure it was secured before putting the pack back on, turning her attention back to the boy who introduced himself.
She shook her head, "No. I was late, but I guess it doesn't matter now. Might as well take the rest of the class off. I'll be punished either way." She put her hands in her pockets, regarding him. "What about you? No classes today? Or are you a delinquent like I am?" If she was honest, she hated that she was missing class. It was yet another stereotype that would look negatively on her cohort. She was usually the picture of rules and order, but sometimes she simply wasn't good enough.
Falling to the ground was the very least of Aelin's problems. The little bottle had gotten kicked and tossed before she could grab it. Her hands scrambling towards the path that the glass had taken. Thankfully, whoever she had ran into was rather large and parted the sea of passing demigods easily, picking the bottle up from the ground. Aelin breathed a sigh of relief as she saw the guy hold it carefully. She closed her eyes for a moment, thanking the gods while he made his way over. Aelin stood, dusting herself off as he spoke to her.
Humor played upon her features as she watched him gingerly hold the glass, asking of its safety. If it had not been so rare and highly pricey to make, she might have jokingly suggested that he drink it and find out. However, the contents of the bottle were heavily guarded. She hadn't technically been allowed to take it out of the Trivia ingredient room, but she had needed a tiny drop for something and hadn't thought anyone would notice. It wasn't like the contents were used every day.
She shrugged, a hint of mischief in her words. "I guess that depends on who you ask." She extended her hand to him, to get the liquid back. She thought that she had seen him before, but she had never spoken to him. She was in the fourth cohort so most of her training was with them. The little bit of free time she had, she usually spent with Trivia kids practicing her magic. Lately, the free-time had been non-existent.
She had been called to help with the, thankfully occasional, barrier malfunction more often than she was comfortable saying. She liked to think that it was just a fluke, due to the influx of so many demigods entering the camp. As time progressed however, she wasn't so sure. Pulling her attention to the bottle she elaborated further, "It's a truth serum. The effects don't last for very long but it's highly powerful."
She didn't elaborate further. She didn't want to give him any reason to keep it or make her bargain for it. She didn't know who she was dealing with. He was obviously in a higher cohort than she was, which meant she had no influence over him if he decided to keep it. The only thing she could do was use her magic on him and pending he wasn't one of the big three that could go awfully wrong awfully quickly. "I'm Aelin, by the way. From the fourth."
A pleased sense of self-satisfaction washed over Aelin as she noted the surprise immediately pass over the boy's face. Good. She thought, quite pleased with herself. Maybe next time he would think twice about messing with someone's dreams. She had to be honest though that a part of her was relieved that it had been due to an intrusion. Demigods were prone to glimpses of the past and sometimes things to come as well as a full gamut of nightmare scenarios. She had her safeguards in place for a reason. The idea of those failing and showing her that kind of nightmare would have been alarming to say the least. Not that he would get off any easier. The whole reason she was in this state was entirely because of him.
The boy gave an awkward chuckle, asking what he should be begging mercy for and Aelin resisted the urge to toy with his precarious situation. "I saw your face in my dream last night. Or rather, nightmare would be the more accurate term. You're lucky, you're getting off this easy. Trust me." She kept her focus on him, not that she felt concerned for her magic faltering. She could do this all day and pending that he didn't apologize and beg for forgiveness she just might. "You would think a child of a sleep god would know better than to mess with a kid of Trivia but here we are."
Had he not been in the same cohort as she was, she might have thought he had done it because of her lower cohort ranking. That maybe he had made the mistake of thinking her weak. He was in the same proverbial boat that she was in though so that negated that theory. "Do you take turns slipping into everyone's dreams or am I just lucky?"
She kept him where he was, foot still firmly held in the air. She knew he was at no risk of serious medical harm. At the worst perhaps a little lightheadedness and it would be well-deserved after the sleepless night he had given her.
Aelin was on a war-path. She had awoken from a nightmare last night in a cold sweat. Nightmares were usually common in demigods, but her mother had shown her spells that protected her thoughts and emotions to prevent them. The spell was a safeguard against negative forces or feelings that plagued most of the others like her. The spell wasn't perfect, but it was almost impossible to get by. She could count on one hand the number of bad dreams that she had ever had. Last night had added another number to that list. She had seen her father die, and it hadn't been enough to have a monster take him from her. No, the death had been gruesome and cruel. She hadn't been able to help nor prevent it. Her magic had been rendered useless and her sword skills were nothing compared to the drakon that had laughed at her failed attempts to save her father's life.
She had woken up with tears running down her face and had done the only thing that she knew to do: ran for her mother. Aelin hadn't even slipped her shoes on before she bended the mist to her will, hiding her form, and running out of the barrack doors. It was late in the night, which eased her senses just a bit. The darkness had always been her mother's favorite realm. She ran until she came to a spot where the roads forked off. One side to go to the stables, one side leading to the field of Mars, and the other straight ahead to New Rome. Aelin sat down, right in the middle of the crossroads and closed her eyes.
She took three minutes to calm her senses, focus her breathing, and reach out to her mother. The goddess didn't appear to her physically, but she saw her as clear as day in her mind. The mystical figure of darkness and magic had soothed her in as little as five words: it was only a dream. Aelin had almost collapsed from relief. Thankful that it had indeed been a nightmare and not a prophetic image of things to come. She didn't remember telling her mother bye, or even how long the goddess had spoken to her. The only thing she could recall when she woke up, still sitting in the middle of the road, was the image of one of her cohort legionnaires. A child of a sleep god if she was remembering correctly.
The idea of one of her fellow legionnaires deliberately causing nightmares in her sleep had been enough to make her blood run hot. She had stalked to their barracks, but he hadn't been there. So she had showered, changed, and asked around until she got his location: the field of Mars. She had all but stomped off in the direction, not bothering to say hello or let any distractions bother her. Her eyes set upon the field, scanning everything that moved. Her eyes locked on him, and she didn't relent until she was about twenty feet away. In one smooth motion of her hand, he was hoisted into the air, snagged by one foot and held aloft, almost as if he had stepped on a trip-line. He was a mere 12 feet in the air. Not enough to mortally wound him, if her magic failed, but certainly enough to break a bone or two.
She calmly crossed her arms across her chest and regarded him, "Would you like to beg for mercy or would you rather take your chances and let the first cohort use you as a pinata?"
Aelin was running incredibly late. Perhaps that wouldn't be a big deal for a normal kid. Unfortunately, she was not a normal kid, she was a Roman and it was indeed a very big problem if she was behind. There were classes and schedules and training that not only required her presence but in a few instances, demanded it. Such as legionary warfare training. The entire cohort wouldn't be able to practice properly if she wasn't there, the whole point of their tactics depended on needing every person. Sure, they could pretend she had died in battle, but that thought wasn't one she particularly wanted to dwell on.
Thankfully, it was just Latin she was missing out on and there wouldn't be anyone requiring her presence. She doubted she'd be able to sneak in, that wasn't really an option, but maybe...just maybe, she thought if she rushed she wouldn't be punished too harshly. It was better to be somewhere later than not at all right? She let that thought comfort her as she double-timed it through her quarters.
She had run through the barracks, muttering apologies and slinging her bag over one shoulder as she ran through the cohort doors in a frenzy. She pushed the barrack doors open and out she ran, into the open path outside. She had only made it two steps outside when she realized that she had forgotten her Latin book. So, back in the barracks, she ran again. It took her a little over five minutes to actually find the one she needed of course. She was a little embarrassed to admit that it had been a while since she had last studied.
Grabbing the book, she ran out the door again, her feet rapidly hitting the dirt. She had made it a total of five steps this time before she ran right into someone as she had looked down for just a moment. The book went flying, her pack went skidding and Aelin yelped in surprise and pain as she too fell against the hard earth.
Before she could apologize or even see who or what it was that she ran into, her eyes caught a bottle rolling out of her pack. She was, of course, carrying various potions in that bag, which under normal circumstance wouldn't be a problem. Seeing a mysterious one roll around and get kicked along like a ball however, was a very, very bad problem. "No. No. No, no!" She yelped before scrambling towards the bottle.
[CAUTIOUS] Aelin is very cautious about new situations, places and people. She likes the idea of adventure, but in all truthfulness she's too cautious and careful to do anything too far outside of her comfort zone. She tends to be more concerned with what might happen, who might get hurt or how something could go terribly wrong to allow herself to enjoy life without fear of consequences.[break][break]
[CHEERFUL] She isn't necessarily outgoing, but she is polite and friendly to those who interact with her. She doesn't like the feeling of anger because it tends to affect her ability to work magic so she tries to forgive and forget quickly.
[DEFENSE, NOT OFFENSE] She tends to adapt the philosophy of do no harm, but take no crap mentality so while she would never act aggressively to someone unwarranted, she would defend herself ruthlessly if needed or to the defense of those who can't defend themselves. [break][break]
[EMPATHETIC] Aelin has a hard time not letting her emotions get the best of her. She tends to have a strong sense of empathy so she finds it hard to ignore people hurting or in pain. She tends to gravitate towards those emotionally hurting or scarred and though she knows 9 times out of 10 she can't help them, she always tries, no matter how many times it backfires or doesn't necessarily work out. [break][break]
[FOCUSED] Aelin is very focused and determined when it comes to her powers. She tends to get a little bit obsessive when it comes to mastering new runes or spells. Even if there's a thousand things going on around her she can focus and clear her mind, sometimes actively shutting the world out from around her.[break]

2 YEARS AT CAMP, CLAIMED
[break][break]
Timothy Locke was a police officer in New York specializing in witness protection. He had a normal life, though would occasionally find himself having to look twice at things swearing he saw something that wasn't there. He was advancing further and further in his career when a woman introduced herself to him, telling him who she was and that she was impressed by his bravery and skill. He had instantly fallen for her and before long, Aelin was handed over to him. He had been terrified of course to have a half-god child, but Trivia had assured him that they would both be safe with her protection spells. She had then sent an older female child of hers to the family to help watch over the young girl and help her learn her magic and work with her powers.[break][break]
From the beginning, Aelin was told who she was and taught how to use her gifts. She was homeschooled of course, and never was allowed to be outside in the world much. Her father taught her how to fight, and shoot. He brought her with him to as many training sessions as he could, sometimes with her using the mist to appear older so she could learn how to shoot and fight at a younger age. Hecate's protection spells continued to work long after the girl grew up and was able to reinforce the spells by herself.[break][break]
She had a wonderful life but when she turned 15 Trivia appeared and told her it was time to go to the wolf house. It was then that her mother informed her about a camp for those like her and her heritage. She hadn't wanted to leave her Dad, but she knew it was what she was born for. So she set out and spent 6 months with the wolf Lupa, learning about New Rome and the legion she would soon be apart of.[break][break]
She worked through her first year of Probatio easily enough and found herself eagerly waiting to see which cohort the Praetors would put her in. She was exceptional with her gifts and magic, but she couldn't wield a sword to save her life. She was terrible at shooting bows and arrows and unless it was a gun, which wasn't even allowed at camp Jupiter, she was terrible. The Romans had a complicated history with Trivia to begin with. Romans were all about sense, logic, keeping your feet firmly on the ground and your head out of the clouds. The whole concept of magic, illusions, and mist made them uncomfortable.[break][break]
So, despite her skills with magic, she was placed in the fourth cohort due to her lack of everything else. Not the worst, but certainly not anywhere near the best. She had been disappointed but she wasn't one to complain either, so for the past two years she has made every effort possible to turn the fourth cohort into one of honor and respectability, trying to excel in every task that's placed in front of her.[break]
[magical abilities] As a daughter of Trivia she can cast and wield magic. She can manipulate magical forces to do things as easily as change the color of someone's clothes to turning them into an animal. She can create or manipulate magic by enacting spells, carving runes, or making potions. Because she has been training since infancy with her powers, Aelin is exceptionally gifted when it come to her magic. If she performs a very intense or draining form of magic and uses it without properly preparing for it, it will burn up all the energy she has, leaving her passed out and effectively unable to use her magic until it "recharges" again. She must also be careful about the kind of magic she uses because magic can sometimes warp the individual, demand payment or change something irreparable. [break]
