[CAUTIOUS] Aelin is very cautious about new situations, places and people. She likes the idea of adventure, but in all truthfulness she's too cautious and careful to do anything too far outside of her comfort zone. She tends to be more concerned with what might happen, who might get hurt or how something could go terribly wrong to allow herself to enjoy life without fear of consequences.[break][break]

[CHEERFUL] She isn't necessarily outgoing, but she is polite and friendly to those who interact with her. She doesn't like the feeling of anger because it tends to affect her ability to work magic so she tries to forgive and forget quickly.

[DEFENSE, NOT OFFENSE] She tends to adapt the philosophy of do no harm, but take no crap mentality so while she would never act aggressively to someone unwarranted, she would defend herself ruthlessly if needed or to the defense of those who can't defend themselves. [break][break]

[EMPATHETIC] Aelin has a hard time not letting her emotions get the best of her. She tends to have a strong sense of empathy so she finds it hard to ignore people hurting or in pain. She tends to gravitate towards those emotionally hurting or scarred and though she knows 9 times out of 10 she can't help them, she always tries, no matter how many times it backfires or doesn't necessarily work out. [FOCUSED] Aelin is very focused and determined when it comes to her powers. She tends to get a little bit obsessive when it comes to mastering new runes or spells. Even if there's a thousand things going on around her she can focus and clear her mind, sometimes actively shutting the world out from around her.[break]

Timothy Locke was a police officer in New York specializing in witness protection. He had a normal life, though would occasionally find himself having to look twice at things swearing he saw something that wasn't there. He was advancing further and further in his career when a woman introduced herself to him, telling him who she was and that she was impressed by his bravery and skill. He had instantly fallen for her and before long, Aelin was handed over to him. He had been terrified of course to have a half-god child, but Trivia had assured him that they would both be safe with her protection spells. She had then sent an older female child of hers to the family to help watch over the young girl and help her learn her magic and work with her powers.[break][break]

From the beginning, Aelin was told who she was and taught how to use her gifts. She was homeschooled of course, and never was allowed to be outside in the world much. Her father taught her how to fight, and shoot. He brought her with him to as many training sessions as he could, sometimes with her using the mist to appear older so she could learn how to shoot and fight at a younger age. Hecate's protection spells continued to work long after the girl grew up and was able to reinforce the spells by herself.[break][break]

She had a wonderful life but when she turned 15 Trivia appeared and told her it was time to go to the wolf house. It was then that her mother informed her about a camp for those like her and her heritage. She hadn't wanted to leave her Dad, but she knew it was what she was born for. So she set out and spent 6 months with the wolf Lupa, learning about New Rome and the legion she would soon be apart of.[break][break]

She worked through her first year of Probatio easily enough and found herself eagerly waiting to see which cohort the Praetors would put her in. She was exceptional with her gifts and magic, but she couldn't wield a sword to save her life. She was terrible at shooting bows and arrows and unless it was a gun, which wasn't even allowed at camp Jupiter, she was terrible. The Romans had a complicated history with Trivia to begin with. Romans were all about sense, logic, keeping your feet firmly on the ground and your head out of the clouds. The whole concept of magic, illusions, and mist made them uncomfortable.[break][break]

So, despite her skills with magic, she was placed in the fourth cohort due to her lack of everything else. Not the worst, but certainly not anywhere near the best. She had been disappointed but she wasn't one to complain either, so for the past two years she has made every effort possible to turn the fourth cohort into one of honor and respectability, trying to excel in every task that's placed in front of her.[break]

[magical abilities] As a daughter of Trivia she can cast and wield magic. She can manipulate magical forces to do things as easily as change the color of someone's clothes to turning them into an animal. She can create or manipulate magic by enacting spells, carving runes, or making potions. Because she has been training since infancy with her powers, Aelin is exceptionally gifted when it come to her magic. She could, if provided with enough energy, raise someone from the dead or perform other feats that are normally only found in children of the big three. Since magic requires energy she must have it. If she performs a very intense or draining form of magic and uses it without properly preparing for it, it will burn up all the energy she has, leaving her passed out and effectively unable to use her magic until it "recharges" again. She must also be careful about the kind of magic she uses because magic can sometimes warp the individual, demand payment or change something irreparable. [break]
