Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

She held the lantern between her hands as she watched others lift off into the night sky. So many losses, so much grief for them to let go. It was hard to think of the amount of friends, lovers, family that they had all lost at Camp Half Blood when the fire roared through and the smell of smoke never really felt like it ever had come out of her hair, though she knew it had. The ash in the air, the soot on their faces, she had wished it was a bad dream, but it was far from that. It was very much painful and very much real, and she was not going to be able to forget it easily. If ever. Though, the point of all of this was letting go, the ending of one chapter, and the beginning of the next.
Was she frightened of the future? Yes and no. There was so much uncertainty in it all, they had a whole different world here, but she had to wonder, would the Roman's even allow them to live in New Rome with their own people when they decided to make that choice? There was potential in that, but it was a scary concept. If they did not allow it, would they just be tossed aside? Sent back out into the world where they monsters could smash through their doors and murder them? It was possible. Anything was possible. She swallowed down the knot in her throat as she murmured her goodbyes to her siblings, friends, and to Lucas. It was tough letting them all go, but it was time to.
A tear slipped down her cheek as she watched the lantern lift up into the night sky, rubbing at her arms, though she wasn't truly too cold, despite them opening the weather of the world. It was more for that comfort, the need to feel some kind of warmth, no matter how weak. Her eyes looked over the crowd and she saw him. His eyes on hers made her cheeks flush and she walked slowly towards him. " I didn't expect you to be here tonight. Figured most of the Roman's were not really wanting to be here for this."
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENTq"] ”What an awfully busy day.” Noah let out a long sigh, hand resting on his hips. He combed his blond hair back with the other hand. He was tired. Not only from running around like crazy because demigods always felt the need to overdo everything, no, also from using his powers to heal. He had bandaged small cuts and put on a herbal healing salve on bruises here and there, but Romans didn’t know what the word restriction meant. Hades, it was a battlefield out there. Noah was used to chaos during the war games but this? He hadn’t seen so many stabbings and broken bones in a long time.
The group of healers dispersed after their too long shift around the game areas, and honestly, he was glad it was over. His stomach was screaming for it to be filled and a cup of tea, steaming hot, sounded great too. Noah made his way back to the Infirmary to put back his supplies and perhaps change into a new t-shirt. While he didn’t participate in any of the games he was still sweating from the running and jumping and avoiding becoming an accidental target for an archer. Once he had slipped on a new purple t-shirt he laid down on one of the beds. Just five minutes of rest would do and then he could get something to eat...
His eyes flew open as someone came running into the Infirmary, shouting at him something about lanterns. Right! There was supposed to be a lantern festival to pay tribute to the fallen demigods. But wasn’t it supposed to start at night? The son of Apollo turned his head, squinting out of the window. The sun had already set. A quick glance at a clock told him he didn’t sleep just 5 minutes but rather 5 hours. Scrambling out of the bed he grabbed his old airpod and a light sweater jacket which he tossed over his shoulder.
Jogging towards the Fields of Mars he popped in one earplug, turning on a playlist to match the mood. Noah was a little late, blue eyes moving skywards to look at the lanterns being lifted into the night. It was a beautiful view, despite the pain and grief that accompanied the lights. After finding a good spot he stood still, closing his eyes for just a moment to send up a quick prayer himself.
Upon opening them his gaze immediately found a familiar one. He couldn’t help but frown, but quickly shook it off, the corners of his lips turning up into a soft smile. He let the music play but pushed the button to turn down the volume as the daughter of Aphrodite approached him. “Probably. But even though this is mostly for you, some of us like to take the chance to mourn our own. We may have a slightly safer life than you do, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have losses.” He shrugged softly, fidgeting with the other earphone as he talked. “Besides, I don’t think the Praetors would allow this to happen a second time. It’s too beautiful and soft.”
He stood against a box filled with more lanterns and lights, twirling the cord around his finger before he untwirled it again, holding it out to her. “You know what makes this moment even more special? Music.”
The frown on his face had almost made her stop in her tracks, but the smile that had Savannah felt stupid the minute she had said it. Of course the Roman's had their own losses over time that they would want to honor as well. This was not specifically for the Greeks. Her face turned bright red as she was beyond embarassed. Why was she so, so...nervous around Noah? Sure, the way they had met had been far from normal, but she had not held a single thing against him. He was trying to protect his sister, and she could understand that. The Ares kids often put her in her own kind of temper so she got it completely.
" Of course, that makes complete sense. I didn't mean to be such an idiot I swear." were her cheeks going to be permanantly red at this point? Deep down something nagged at her, she had to wonder who his losses were, but she thought it would be rude to ask. So she let it go. Though she herself had to say goodbye to so many, it was completely plausible that he did too. She looked up at the lanterns above them, twinkling in the night sky, glowing like the stars that showed up between them. " Its so beautiful. It should be something they should do every year, just to help people say their goodbyes to the pain of losses they had that year." her dark eyes seemed to reflect the light of the lanterns above as she watched someone release another.
Savannah smiled at him and took the ear bud from him, " Music always makes a moment even more special, and even magical at times. Though I would expect a son of Apollo to agree with me anyway." she placed the earbud in her ear, moving in closer to him so that it was easier for them both to listen. The Night We Met played in her ear and her eyes started to build up with tears. " This is my favorite song Noah, its like you knew..." she looked up at him, realizing at that moment how much he towered over her. The blush on her cheeks making her almost look like a doll in the diffused light of the lanterns.
Her smile was so very genuine as she looked up into his eyes. " Can we sit?" she gestured to a place that they could sit close together where they could listen to his music and just enjoy the festival and the lights above them. She was afraid he was still thinking about the night they met, especially with the song that was playing in her ear, making her heart race in her chest. Why? She couldn't even remember the last time someone made her feel like a giddy school girl just by being near them.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENTq"] Noah shook his head but kept the smile on his face. "No, no... You’re not being an idiot at all," he offered, trying to reassure her that she really wasn’t. He was probably one of the few Romans who decided to watch the tribute take place, although he could not participate in it. Or maybe he could but that would make him the idiot as it was a tribute to the Greeks and not the Romans. Warm blue eyes followed hers as they looked up at the lanterns in the night sky together. "Spoken like a true Greek," he teased, glancing down at her. "I don’t think the majority of us brutal and heartless warriors would even know how to remotely appreciate such gestures." He laughed at his own words as he uttered them, half-joking, half not. Showing pain openly wasn’t something a legionnaire should do. It would mean to show weakness and that was frowned upon by a lot. They were humans, mostly, and a lot were still children but that didn’t matter inside these walls.
The blond dropped his gaze at her comment, quietly chuckling at her words. He scratched the skin between cheekbone and ear before looking sideways at her. Before he could reply she had started to move closer to him, of course, because of the earbud. Swallowing, he fished out that old and used iPod, thumb rubbing over the buttons in the middle of it. Despite not focusing on his powers he could feel the faint thumping of her heart. The last time she was so close to him had been when he lost control over it, hurting not just one but two demigods in the process. One of them was the daughter of Aphrodite.
Noah had been meaning to seek her out so he could apologize properly for quite some time but no matter how often he ran his speech through his head it never sounded quite right. How did one apologize for almost killing the other anyway? His thumb paused on the play button when a new song started playing. He looked at her, surprised that she was tearing up… afraid that she would start crying because of his poor choice of music. Would that even be possible for a son of Apollo to have bad taste in music?
However, when she told him it was her favorite song instead of her most hated one as he expected, his face partly lit up. He couldn’t help feeling… guilty. Still guilty about everything that had happened. Quietly, he agreed to sit down, leading her to the place she pointed to while being careful about the earbuds in both their ears. Noah sat down after her, fiddling with the iPod in his hands. "I-" he began, staring at the patch of grass underneath his feet. Taking a deep breath he put the device back into the pocket where it came from, kneading his hands instead as he scrambled to find the right words.
"I just wanted to apologize for… last time." The words finally left his lips. He tilted his neck, looking up at the lanterns instead of her. Blinking, as if to blink away tears although his eyes were completely dry, he sucked in another breath, lips parted and ready to continue to speak. "I don’t even know if an apology would ever be enough to make up for it. It usually… never happens. I guess it was just the stress and… I’m just… terribly sorry. I can’t stop feeling guilty about it I-" A nervous laugh escaped his throat. The music had blended with the background noise of demigods talking, sobbing, crying, laughing. He ran a hand through his golden hair before mustering up the courage to look at her.
He had avoided her the entire time, feeling bad about their first encounter which certainly wasn't pleasant. But there was only so long one could run from someone or something. A smile emerged from the bitter and somber look on his face. "I guess I'm the idiot here, huh. I'm just really, really sorry."
Savannah looked over at Noah who's smile was absolutely infectious. He was already a handsome guy, but add that smile to his face and you could tell that he was the son of Apollo. The god was known for being stunning, and Noah definitely fit that mold. Though just the thought made her blush scarlet. " Ah well, we all have our moments at least, I should have thought that you guys would have just as much to mourn, even if its just something as simple as your camp being invaded by us Greeks. Sorry about that by the way." she couldn't imagine if the Romans had all come to Camp Half Blood, having to take on that many new campers at once? It had to be overwhelming, and she didn't blame the ones that had looked at them like they were nothing but a burden.
She tilted her head at him and smiled, " You are far from some heartless brute. I've seen a side of you that shows the exact opposite of that. Fighting to be the opposite of that. I saw the look on your face." she had seen the tears streaming down his cheeks as he had fought to try not to hurt her. If he was some heartless, brutal Roman, he wouldn't have fought quite so hard. " So, clearly, you are in the minority. Something tells me you are actually able to appreciate this." she gestured to the lanterns before turning her eyes back to his face. He towered over her, but that was alright, she appreciated a tall man. They could reach the things on the top shelf.
It was sweet of him to share his music with her. He had been doing nothing but making her feel welcome tonight, and that was something she could get used to. The song played in her ear and she turned her eyes up to the night sky, watching the lanterns floating up as the tune played along with it, it really was the perfect choice for this. " Gods, I can't imagine a more beautiful tribute." she sighed, content in that moment. Though when he agreed to sitting down, and they moved together to that spot, she felt the warmth of his presence next to her. They had to sit close for them to both be able to enjoy the music, and she was enjoying that closeness. It warmed her skin being that close, but it also warmed her very heart being that near to him.
As he spoke she turned just a bit so she could give him her full attention. He seemed nervous as he wrung his hands and she wanted to show him that it was alright. He apologized to her and she felt awful for him. It was clear that he felt terrible and she had to choose her words carefully. Watching as he ran his hand through his hair, when he was done she reached over and took his hand in hers, squeezing it gently. " Noah, it's alright. I'm ok, no lasting damage. The healers fixed me right up. I appreciate that you felt the need to apologize, and I know that it was a hard night to begin with. I want to apologize as well. I don't like using my charm speak unless I have to, I don't like using powers on my friends, and though it helped to stop you, I still should apologize for using it at all...so I too am sorry." she smiled right back at him, his face seemed to really light up when he smiled, and she loved to see it.
