Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Few things ever troubled Claire, and it took a lot to get under her skin. Somehow Castor's words to her in the stables at really given her something to think about. Yet now here she sat beside the river. She was weaponless except for her dagger but she wasn't training like she often was. She stared at the water rushing past her silently. Her knees pulled up to her chest as she ignored everything around her in that moment. Why had it bothered her so much? Most likely because they were true.
A part of Claire never thought about the future after her service to the legion. She had shut herself out to love, mainly out of fear of it. She had never had luck with relationships not that anyone would have known. Few knew how Claire felt beneath the tough girl exterior she had built around herself. A wall of defense but also a wall that traps the emotion inside. She never let it crack for she feared showing weakness in front of others.
Now more than ever she had been letting his words set in. What were her plans? Why didn't she search for something meaningful? She didn't know where to start however. Castor said the years went by quick and what if she had made this choice to late. There was a sense of doubt inside her. Her dark hair blew into her face like a a veil. Hiding the emotions that played on face.
So silently she sat there unaware of her surroundings. Her thoughts lost to the many that swirled around in her head. If any approached she was unaware.
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] Cameron was jogging along the bank of the river, eyes the same color as the reflection of the water closely watched the water as it made its way down. He had already taken a quick dip in it with the sole purpose of retrieving something another legionnaire accidentally dropped in it. The stream of water was moving slow enough that he should have been able to grab the item but for some reason it appeared to be playing him, fooling him even. So whenever he made a go for it the water would pull it further away. He hadn't really paid much attention but he suspected a nymph playing tricks or maybe it was the river itself.
Although, the task had grown tedious and quite frustrating the blond never lost his smirk as he continued moving down the river. His shirt, drenched in water, hung over his bare shoulder after he forgot to take it off before jumping into the water. Unfortunately, unlike the children of Neptune, he didn't have any control over freshwater sources so removing the water out of the fabric was not an option. There he was, shirtless but still chipper.
His jog was interrupted by an obstacle, or rather a person, sitting beside the river. He switched into a slow walk, still moving further and closer to the brunette he recognized as one of his cohort mates. As he moved closer he pulled out a small waterproof pouch and pulled out a crystal-like square. Cam had always been the type to worry over most people he knew, even if he was only faintly acquainted with, thus he had noticed the somber expression on her face as he stood next to her. "Sugar cube for a thought, Claire?"
Claire had been lost in her thoughts when the sudden voice startled her. Instinctively she turned quickly reaching for her dagger. Her dark hair whipping around while her blue eyes looked around for the source. Though when realizing it wasn't any threat she relaxed an put her dagger away. It took a lot to startle Claire as usually she was very aware of her surroundings. The very fact he had managed to even sneak up on her and startle her only showed more that she wasn't herself. Few ever seen her like this.
Her blue gaze turned to see Cameron. She was at least glad it was a fellow cohort member and not someone like Jax. Certainly Jax would tease her about it. "I... sorry didn't hear you coming…" she said apologetically. She really had no reason to be apologizing. She rubbed the back of her head and thought over his statement.
"Sure why not…." She said to him. She motioned for him to have a seat beside her. She didn't often talk to Cam but when she did he was always very nice. He was definitely a type of person you wanted to be around. Though suddenly realizing she had no idea where to start. Her thoughts were everywhere in that moment. "You know I honestly have no idea where to start" she admitted. Claire really was off her game. If this vulnerable state she was in didn't scream that she wasn't sure what did.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Cameron Seager
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] Cameron blinked innocently at her and the dagger she was probably about to plummet at him. He was glad she did not because he kind of liked living. He didn’t mean to scare her or surprise her, whichever it was she was taken by. Looking down at his feet, which he forgot were bare since he had spent all day around the water, he realized that he must not have made much noise when he approached her. "It’s fine. I guess I should have made myself more noticeable. Didn’t mean to scare you," the blond said apologetically.
He sat down next to her, sliding his feet into the cool water of the river. With a delighted grin, he held out the sugar cube towards her and waited until she plucked it from his fingers. Once he was free of holding on to the piece of candy he pulled down his drenched shirt, wringing it over the Little Tiber to remove water. Blue eyes watched the drops fall down before he moved his curious gaze back to the brunette next to him.
"So tell me," he began, giving the shirt a shake before he spread it out over the grass on his other side to make it dry faster. He had considered putting it back on but there was nothing worse than the feeling of a clammy shirt against bare skin. "What could possibly be on the mind of a daughter of Mars that’s bothering her so much to deeply frown into a river?" Cameron asked, having turned back to her as he opened the small waterproof satchel once again and to grab another sugar cube. He tilted his head slightly back, "You might upset some naiads if you continue to do so." With a smirk he popped the sugar cube into his mouth, biting down on it, resulting in the sound of a satisfying crunch.
Claire looked at him carefully. "No, no I should have been more aware of my surroundings. I guess when your lost in thought that tends to happen" she told him. Claire was usually very good at being aware of her surroundings except for today. She still had no idea where to start as there was a lot going on in her head. The brunette glanced at the water and then back up to him.
She watched him take a seat beside her and took the offered sugar cube. She popped it into her mouth after a quick thank you. She watched him ring out his shirt and lay it out to dry. When he spoke she gave a light shrug. "I'm not frowning but its a mix of things. Had a conversation with Castor...and it gave me a lot to think about" she said to him. Many knew how serious she was when it came to training or just the legion itself. As she had told Castor she was always better with weapons that she was with people.
Though Claire couldn't help but laugh at the comment about the naiads. Her original answer was fairly vague but she was struggling to put her thoughts into words. The very fact that she was troubled or conflicted after a conversation was new to her. "He brought up life after the legion...and relationship...neither of which I have even thought of...my focus has always been the legion." she said. This of course also included training to beat Jax. Though that was almost a given with her.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Cameron Seager
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] "You should be careful getting lost in your thoughts like that. One's thoughts can quickly make one drown in misery and despair. And you might not see an overly attractive son of Salacia approaching." Cameron winked at her and commented in between as he listened to her explain why she was so lost in her thoughts. Sometimes, only sometimes, the blond found that thinking was a little overrated. Now, he would love to say that worrying was overrated too but unfortunately that was something he could not deny as he found himself to be a big worry-wart more often than he preferred.
He understood her concerns, albeit shaking his head softly at the mention of Castor who, in his opinion, was being too serious sometimes. When it came to life after the legion Cameron had one plan. To move close to the ocean, his mother’s realm, and home. It was where he felt most comfortable, surrounded by seawater which he could actually control with his ability unlike the freshwater found in rivers and lakes. His powers have proven more than useless within the camp’s borders. With only one year left to absolve in the legion, he seemed to feel her troubles even more.
After snacking on another sugar cube Cameron turned his upper face towards her, one hand resting on the ground while the other was gently tapping his chin. He simply replied with a bit of an exaggerated shrug. "I see," he began, licking his lips which tasted as sweet as the sugar he ate. "First of all, Castor talks a lot. Nothing against him. He’s a great guy, I like him but he’s a centurion after all. You should expect him to be all serious about life after the legion blabla." Eyes as blue as the ocean on a bright summer day wandered over the grass and earth between them before flicking back up to the daughter of Mars. "Maybe use the constant training to your advantage. Consider working as a combat instructor after camp? Or something similar. New Rome offers plenty of options."
"When it comes to relationships… Well, I heard he’s digging one of the Greek girls. Can’t blame him. But there is plenty of f-," he paused, lifting his eyebrows, his lips still parted as the words hung in the air. He intended to say fish but being the son of a sea goddess made it kind of a weird saying to use. His thoughts buffered for a moment as he tried coming up with a better alternative, absentmindedly tossing a small pebble into the river. "There’s plenty of demigods out there. Or even mortals if that’s your type. What I want to say is… don’t force it. Let the Fates guide you." As he finished his answer to her he gave himself a pat on the shoulder. "Wow, the last bit sounded pretty poetic."
At his comment Claire couldn't help but allow a smile to form on her lips. "Ah yes one wouldn't wish to miss that" she said. Maybe Claire just needed to just let her guard down to feel some sort of joy. Certainly to many Cameron was attractive. Claire would certainly be lying to herself if she didn't see that. Between his kindness and just how relaxed he was was perfect. Any person would be lucky to find themselves to be with him. Claire quickly pushed the thoughts embarrassed for even thinking like that. Like Claire could ever see herself that lucky.
Claire didn't even know what she wanted to do with her life. She was well aware she wouldn't be a part of the legion forever. Could she find a life outside of Camp Jupiter or even in New Rome? She wasn't even sure where to begin on that level of planning. She had time to think of something. Though deep down the daughter of Mars wanted happiness. It was something she often couldn't find with her training all the time. She just didn't know how to relax. If she wasn't running messages she was training or keeping herself busy. Few times had she taken time from her day to sit down and relax. A part of her needed a friend or something to show her how.
Her own blue gaze locked onto his after they swept upwards. "I understand that but do I really wanna fight my whole life. I am not sure what I want if I am being honest. Many have dreams and ideas of what they want to use their skills for, my only skill is fighting and being stubborn" she said with a light laugh. Claire hoped to find her path or something but she knew if she wanted that she needed to let go, even if its only a little bit. She needed to open up and stop being so guarded. She couldn't hide because of the fear of getting hurt again.
She gave him a silent nod. She was definitely thinking on his words carefully. "I guess your right.." she said. Of course she had a fear that even with guidance of the fates she would find no one but she would have to wait. Though his comment made her grin, "Who would of thought you could be such a poet" she said giving him a light nudge.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Cameron Seager
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] After Cameron tossed the pebble into the river he started collecting a few more, inspecting each as if he held jewelry in his hand. He nodded, gaze wandering over the water’s surface, watching the reflection of the light as it danced on top of it. He missed the salty smell of the ocean. Having a lake and the Little Tiber had been great, it was a larger source of water after all, but the freshwater didn’t emit the same smell like the sea. He always felt as if something was amiss whenever he hung around those places.
"Hmm… I wonder if New Rome offers career counseling," the blond replied, a short but genuine laugh escaping his throat. Tossing in another pebble he glanced sideways at her. "I mean if all else fails you can always join me at my future beach house and just enjoy life." Cameron had already lost track of time ever since he arrived at camp. If it wasn't for the tattoos they received for each year in the legion he wouldn't even know how much longer he had left. Holding out his bare arm where the tattoos were inked on he grinned softly. "It's still a year away. And who knows... maybe I have to stay longer."
Suddenly, Cameron spotted a silver object glistening inside the water. The sparkling caught his attention. Running into Claire almost made him forget his purpose for spending time around the river and the reason why his clothes were wet. The bracelet another demigod had lost earlier as it dropped into the water by accident finally reappeared. "Hang on," he muttered, scrambling into a standing position before two steps carried him over and into the river. He carefully climbed in, considerate of the brunette nearby, otherwise, he would have just jumped right into it.
A quick dive later and he reappeared at the surface, his arm held up and a victorious smile on his face. "Took me long enough," he said, more to himself than to her. That’s what you get for teasing water deities. Staying in the water Cameron waded over to where Claire was and held the bracelet out to her. "Do you mind keeping that for me until later? If I keep it in my pockets it’ll probably just get lost again," Cam said, running his free hand through the blond wet mess that was his hair, the water running down his face.
Claire gave a shrug at his question of career counseling. Of course she wouldn't doubt that it existed in New Rome. "Well that would certainly be convenient" she told him with a light laugh. When he gave the offer of joining him in his beach house she genuinely smiled warmly. Who would of thought Claire could actually let her guard enough to have a good time like this. Just moments before she was lost to her thoughts and now she was laughing. "Well that doesn't sound like too much of a bad idea" she told him. Enjoying life didn't seem like such a bad idea.
Claire took the time to look at her own tattoo. She still had five years. Five years for things to possibly change. Sure she had plenty of time to think of the future but she wanted to do something meaningful. "I still got plenty of time honestly but when can never not think of the future" she told him with a shrug. She leaned back calmly onto her hands and looked over at him.
Though Cameron suddenly off into the water. Initially she gave a confused look to him until he came up with something in his hand. She felt guilty for not asking what brought him all the way out here. Though now she knew the reason. "So that is why you were all the way out here" she noted. Though she took the bracelet as he offered it to her to hold onto. She carefully placed the bracelet into her pocket. "Just don't forget I have it" she told him with a smile. She shook her head at him slightly as he stood there still standing in the river.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Cameron Seager
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] Cameron looked at his tattoo and then his eyes briefly flicked at hers. "Maybe your future doesn’t want to be thought of," he told her, once more feeling astonished and proud of the sudden poetic advice that left his lips, if one could consider it advice at all. He really wasn’t the best when it came to anything serious, supportive, or advice. That had always been Castor’s thing, or anyone else’s. Cameron had other departments he excelled at such as frolicking around with Naiads and soaking himself in the lake or one of the pools Camp Jupiter offered.
'So that is why you were all the way out here.'
He nodded, keeping his hand on his head, long fingers intertwined between his sandy curls. "Yeah, someone lost it earlier during training and it seemed rather important to them. So naturally, I went to get it." Cam gave his hair a quick shake, tilting his head to the side to get rid of the water in his ears. Ocean eyes glanced up at the daughter of Mars, a smile correspondent to hers emerging on his slightly tanned face from being out in the sun all the time. "Oh don’t worry. Even if I do I’m sure I know where to find you. My best guess is that it’ll be the Ludus Magnus or the infirmary. Which one would be more likely?" he asked, albeit jokingly, remaining in the water.
His hand glided over the lake’s surface, the water rippling under his touch. It only moved slightly, but that was solely because he was moving as well and not because he used his powers which were useless in this realm. He played with a thought that stuck in his mind, looking up at Claire, the corners of his lips curling into a sly grin. Cameron was sure this might end with him in the infirmary but if anyone didn’t care in the slightest it was him, the son of Salacia.
With a swift and gentle flick of his hand through the water, he splashed it toward the brunet sitting at the river’s bank. "You know what helps me get rid of these thoughts? Submerging myself and taking a little swim," he said, holding out his hand in her direction as an invitation, although he wasn’t sure if she was the type to accept it. He batted his eyes at her, glancing up through thick lashes due to the wetness, clear pearls of water sparkling in between the fine, fair hairs.
Claire listened to him calmly before her gaze looked at him calmly. "Look at you sounding poetic again, you sure your not the son of Apollo" she teased lightly. Cameron's words had an affect on her. Maybe it was because they were sound words and short and concise. There was no deeper meanings to his words. They meant exactly how they were told. Maybe she should just stop worrying about what she couldn't control. Focus on the here and now.
Though the attention returned to the question or well the statement about why he was out here. He explained he had gone to find it for some other camper who had lost it. That didn't surprise her all that much however. He was always the type of person to help others. She laughed lightly at him when he suggested where to find her. "Most likely Ludus Magnus...unless Jax gets me back for accidentally breaking his nose.." she told him.
Claire was leaning back on her hands not really thinking much of Cameron's sudden sly grin. Not until water was splashed at her. Claire looked at him with blue eyes, "Hey!" she said but couldn't stop the laugh that escaped her. There was no need for her overreact about something meant to get her to have some fun. Claire sat there for a short moment debating on accepting the offer. She carefully removed the dagger from her belt and place the bracelet near it. Taking off her shoes she got up and took his hand accepting the invitation. "Why not" she said with a shrug.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS (optional) Cameron Seager
[attr="class","THREAD3CONTENT"] Cameron winced softly at the mention of her breaking someone else’s nose, his hands automatically reaching toward his own, hovering over it, water dripping from his elbows as he held them above the surface. The Little Tiber wasn’t very deep where he was standing, his tall frame easily standing above the water from his waist up.
He blinked innocently at her after splashing some of the cool water at the brunette. “Oops,” he let out, shrugging playfully, batting his eyes once more at her. The grin changed into a bright smile when she accepted his invitation and his hand. Fair eyebrows quirked up in semi-surprise. “Claire Williams without her dagger? I’m astounded,” Cam commented with a laugh after she had put the blade aside, not taking it with her into the water, although Imperial Gold surely wasn’t going to rust. “Ever the daring daughter of Mars.” The blond winked at her, pulling her into the river.
Holding her hand until she was safely standing in the water at his side he let go, stepping back a little to give her and himself a bit more space. He pushed himself backward, leaning back toward the water as he glided away. “The best way to get used to the water’s temperature is to just take a quick dip,” he said, his eyebrows flicking up for a brief moment as he uttered his suggestion.
Cameron dropped down to his knees, vanishing underwater before he reappeared, breaking through the surface, water splashing everywhere because now he didn’t have to be too careful anymore about getting the daughter of Mars wet considering she was already in the water with him now. The blond shook his head like a dog, soaking wet strands of hair sticking to his face once he stopped. He brushed it back, smirking. “Just like this. Do you need assistance? I’m happy to take the chance. Never had the pleasure of dunking a child of Mars’ head down.” Cam only said jokingly, winking once again and taking precautions by stepping back once more. He was pretty sure that even with the dagger on the river bank Claire would be fast enough to grab it and stab him anyway.
Claire was not one to usually part with the dagger but she felt safe enough to leave it there. It was only the two of them in the area so it wasn't like someone was going to steal it. Besides she would rather not lose it to the river. That dagger meant to much for it to get lost. When he commented about her putting it down she shook her head, not before splashing him with water. She moved towards him. "I might be a daughter of Mars but I am full of surprises" she told him with a smile.
Claire couldn't help but laugh at his comment of going under. Then came the comment about dunking her an she shook her head. Claire didn't swim very often despite knowing how to swim. She raised her arms as he splashed water absolutely everywhere. "I can go under myself I think" she told him. She preferred not getting dunked under by someone. Besides she didn't need a dagger to defend herself all the time.
Taking a deep breath and holding her breath she sank beneath the waters surface. She came back up her dark hair and absolute mess as it was pinned against her face. She brought her hands up to push her hair out of her face. "See I didn't need you to dunk me" she said smiling at him. She wiped some water out of her eyes as she watched him. She hadn't really had any real fun in a long time.
