Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Aurora had finished lunch about half an hour ago or so. She had been wandering Camp Jupiter without no reason or destination. Within the hour she found herself walking towards the Caldecott Tunnel. She wasn't sure why she had been drawn here as it was the entrance to Camp Jupiter. She had no real reason to be here. Yet a feeling or something drew her here. So there she stood on the opposite side of it behind the barrier to camp.
Since the party her siblings had forced her go to things felt strange. They had urged her to move on with her life. Every time she tried to move forward and face the possible truth that he was gone she couldn't. A burning hope buried beneath the grief and sadness that had taken hold since she left with everyone. It was that day that haunted her dreams, the reason for her lack of sleep and certainly the reason for her distancing herself. She remembered that day and would probably forget it. The last thing she remembered was trying to get to Kaiden to take him with her and the others. But he stayed back, he chose to fight the loosing battle.
Standing there she stared out past the barrier expecting nothing. Then she saw movement, a figure standing there. It was when they got closer that she almost collapsed in pure shock. Her heart sank as if she was looking at a ghost. A part of her doubting what stood before her. Tears threatened to spill as she stood there motionless for a long moment. Her brown hair being swept around by the wind. Her hands trembled as she tried to come to grips. She took a step closer. With every step they took she became more and more certain.
At first her voice was soft and uncertain. "Kaiden...". With every step she took her pace quickened until she was running. "Kaiden!" she called out to him. She kept running until she was right there. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug threatening to knock him over. She didn't even care that she was out of the borders safety. She hadn't even noticed the motorcycle that sat parked not far from him.
In that moment she was overcome with a rush of emotion. The tears that had threatened to fall were falling now. She didn't dare let go for fear he would disappear again. When he first vanished she had thought it was her mother who had caused it. Despite the tears she was more overjoyed and relieved. Of course the anger would certainly come up after she was sure he was alright. A part of her wanted to tell her half siblings that as much as they doubted her she never gave up. Not on Kaiden or the fact he was still out there.

Dragging himself from camp he had been exausted but on a mission, at finding home again as he had taken the bike from his dad and driven towards home. He was sure that she would have gone there, if she had the chance and the power to. He had arrived home and had to convince his mom and step dad that they're son was there as he looked different in every way. Taller, more musles and everything since his fathers blessing. After a week he had rested and healed and debated the map and said he would be home soon, and that he would bring Aurora with him and that she would be safe. he had hope that she would be in the end, she had to be and so he had climbed on the bike and was gone soon after.
Pulling up he looked at the gates unimpressed, "so this is where the others live, interesting" he mused as he touched the bike and it vanished. Taking a moment to look around he started to drive towards the tunnel but stopped, wondering if this could end up a bad idea, "so do I yell open the gates?" he mused as he looked up. He had driven most of the night and day to her, the closer he got the more energy to get there he thought as he swallowed. A moment later he noticed someone coming towards him swallowing he moved towards her but a second later she came running into his arms and he caught her.
His arms wrapped around her as he rested his head against hers, "hey, hey watch the waterworks" his voice gruff but he did not push her away he reached up and touched her face brushing the tears away, his eyes staying on hers for a few moments "its okay" he told her, he did not want to let go of her at that moment, "if we ever get seperated, head home and I will come find you cupid" his voice a bit gruff he looked at her and reached up and ruffled her hair, knowing it was a sin for the children of Dite to have bad hair but he did not care, no other child of Aphrodite meant crap to him.
"I am never going to let you go Cupid, never" he muttered and just held her, "but boy do I have a story to tell you" he whispered.
Aurora was mentally freaking out though that was probably just as evident. She took a deep breath trying to calm her emotions that had taken over. Very few seen her this soft and teary. She had hid her emotions since her arrival here from everyone. She had hid the pain she had felt for so long. Yet the minute she seen him and wall and barriers melted away. The moment she felt his arms around her she felt whole again. The void inside her was gone. She didn't even know where to start as she looked at him. His gentle touch almost having her in more tears.
"It's you...it's really you... but how..." was the first words that escaped her lips. "I watched you leave me...and then you never came like all the others that survived. I...I thought you died...though deep down I had hope you were alive..." she said to him. Her voice was shaky with mixed emotions. Her own hand brushing across his cheek gently. "When we fled we had no choice but to flee...too many of us in one place...camp Jupiter was the only safe place...I wanted to go back for you but they stopped me..." she told him. There was so much to tell him and so much to explain about what he had missed. He also had so much to fill her in on. She lightly punched his shoulder, "Don't ever do that to me again...or by the gods I will drag you with me so you can't stay behind" she told him sternly.
Aurora paid no mind to the ruffled hair he left her with. None of that mattered as she led him through the tunnel and past the safety of the barrier. There was still a small field between the and the Little Tiber river, but she would later take him further down to one of the bridges. For now she found a place they could sit on a sit in the grass and just talk. Taking a seat she motioned for him to follow. At a closer look past the tears and the smile the exhaustion was evident in her face. She immediately looked at him, "Your not hurt are you? Any monsters hurt you?" she asked him. She felt bad for getting so caught up she had forgotten to check to ensure he wasn't hurt. She could simply take him to the infirmary if needed.

Looking down at her he paused and listened to her and how she questioned him, slowly he touched his finger to her lips, "shhh" he whispered, "its okay I promise" he told her as he ran a hand through her hair, "its okay Aurora, I understand. You are safe and thats what matters" he promised her with a smile, "I will always find you" he assured her with a small smile. He followed her and sat down beside her, his arm wrapped around her shoulder, she looked tired a frown crossed his lips, "you have not been resting have you?" he asked her a bit, "I thought looking like the walking dead, was impossible for an Aphrodite girl" he teased her a bit.
"When the camp fell and we got seperated, I...rushed in I thought I was going to die, but I...wanted to keep you safe and kill everything" he said after a few moments, slowly he removed the jacket and put it around her "suddenly I felt...invinceble" he said after a few moments, "I...killed over a dozen beasts in minutes and sent many fleeing" it sounded crazy and he had thought that he had gone crazy himself in that moment, he was strong but even that was beyond what he could do "I passed out afterwards and woke up, Aurora...my dad was there" he said after a few moments, "he had given me his blessing, and it...saved me" he said after a few moments.
"its why...I changed" he was taller and bigger and more fit, "he gave me a map towards camp and my new bike. I left there and to be sure I went home, your mom is worried sick by the way" he said after a few moments, "I...told them what happened, after I convinced my parents I was there son" he chuckled a bit, "I stayed there a week, healed and rested in case you found your way there" frowning he paused, "I worried that I had missed something, that had hurt you and the others" more her but he had to sound like a bad gluteus maximus he did have a reputation.
"I came here following dads map...seven days later and a a few monsters and I found you" he said after a few moments, "here we are" he told her as he looked her over, "if I am hurt are you going to play nurse over there Cupid?" he asked her as he raised an eyebrow, "not that I would complain" letting out a chuckle he watched her. He did have bandages hidden under the shirt but did not want to scare her he thought from the encounters with monsters but nothing else mattered at that very moment but her.
Aurora looked down at the ground as she listened to him tease her. "Not that I wasn't trying. Adjusting here hasn't been easy...nor was the trip. The nightmares are the worst" she said to him. Though ever noticed due to the fact he often hid it under a forced smile or a laugh. The less the others worried about her the better. She leaned her head against him just glad to have him back. Nothing else seemed to matter.
Though as he talked about the fight she bit her lip. That was still a painful memory as camp had been her home. It was much more welcoming than this place. Although she had been helping Sienna make their barracks much more welcoming. "Well I am glad it happened as it kept you alive. Changes or no changes it doesn't matter" she told him. Though when he mentioned family she frowned slight but she let it fade as soon as it appeared. "He knows of how dangerous our lives can be...as we escaped I managed to tell him that I was safe and at least sort of where I was headed. I saved him the harshest of parts like the fight and the dangerous road ahead. I arrived with a group of demigods but because there was so many we were never safe until we got here. Not that the Romans have been super welcoming...but here we are safe" she said to him.
"Yes here we are..." she said with a smile. She couldn't help but laugh as he asked if she would play nurse. "No but there is an infirmary here I can take you too. The one Roman Apollo kid helped me out when I arrived. Had a cut on my arm." she told him. She pushed strands of her dark hair out of her face. She would definitely have to fill him in about life here. It was so much different than Camp Half Blood.

He could see the sadness when he teased her, a frown crossing his face "Aurora, I..." he paused and touched her face, "I am sorry" he rarely apologized but he realized that she had been in pain and he had just made a joke. His hand ran along her cheek, his eyes stayed on hers for several moments as as he paused, he wanted to say that he would protect her from it, from the pain and nightmares he rested his head against hers, "I am here, and I wont let anyone hurt you" he whispered the same promise he had made years before and he meant it as he touched her hand and held it in his own, "we can take on anything when we are together" he said after a few moments.
Listening to her as she spoke he gave a nod, his eyes stayed on hers for a few moments, "they both know we have a dangerous life" he admitted and looked away, "that some do not make it, and yet some see old age and families" he mused as he looked away himself, yet they had survived and when the time came he knew they would figure things out, "one day we will have peace, and you will make a cute mom" she would make a good mother, when they found whatever path. Even if it were not with him, he would always try and be her friend.
"we could leave you know" he said as she mentioned the Romans, Ares was as close to the Roman way as possible while being Greek, "get on the bike and just drive away from all of this" even though he had just got there he realized that she was not happy and wanted her to be, "hit the road, and head out and maybe find our next adventure" yes it was dangerous, but the camp had fallen once and they had survived. He wondered if someone had already started the process here. Looking down at her he laid back and gently pulled her down with him and stroked her hair. Looking at the sky he paused, wondering if the camps had always been just a bad idea, and been lucky to last.
"I don't think that would make me feel better though" he pretended to pout a bit, "no...I think watching you run around in a cute little skirt taking care of me is just what the doctor ordered" he teased lightly.
Aurora looked at him as he made the same promise he had years before. She sat there holding his hand and gave a small smile. "Then don't go sacrificing yourself like that.." she said with a light tone. It reminded her so much like the past and what camp life had been. She finally fixed her brown hair as she sat there with him.
Though it was what he said next that shocked her. She never thought of the future only the now. Who knew what quest or trip outside safety would bring. The chances of reaching adulthood was slim. Though here Camp Jupiter they rebuilt Rome. In New Rome the Romans had everything from cafes to university. Many who served the legion went on to live there and have families. What shocked her more when he brought up the fact of having a family. "I don't know about that...not sure if I want kids. If I wasn't a demigod maybe. Though the Romans have a whole city in their camp...New Rome. They have university and places to live. Doubt they would let Greeks live there" she told him.
When he suggested leaving she shook her head. "And go where...you know how dangerous it is out there. At least in Camp Jupiter were safe...for the most part..." she said to him. He let her pull her down into the grass. She looked over him shaking her head. "You would never find me in one of those skirts...ever" she told him.

"men do stupid things for those they care about Cupid, I would give my life any day to save you" the words were calm, yet the way he said them showed how deep he did care, "we make a pretty good team" he mused a bit, as he stroked her hair. There were few he would say those words for and mean it. She was one of them he thought as he looked down at her his eyes calm, "I do admit that its nice here, quiet" but he seemed troubled with it he thought as he stroked her hair his eyes closed, she was all that mattered to him right now he could stay that way forever he thought.
Seeing her surprise he paused his eyes quiet, "Aurora you said it yourself, we are outsiders here this cant become home. If the others are thinking that they may, then we are being foolish" he sighed, his eyes looked at her and paused "there are to many here, it will draw monsters and who knows where the tritor is" he sighed softly, "we are just risking another destruction here then we had at the old camp" he hated to sound like he had no faith but he had watched one home fall already, it was just a matter of time until the others, "there is a reason why...demi gods rarely stay in large groups and now we have the largest possibily ever" he sighed.
"Home and then somewhere else maybe the coast" he sighed, "I passed several nice areas on the way here some deserted but quiet places that could be nice given the time" he doubted she would go, but he knew in the end he would not leave her behind even if he were sure that the city would fall the next day. Looking at her he paused, "I...wont leave you behind" he promised her.
Listening about the skirt he chuckled a bit, "not even for me?" he asked her with a small playful pout but he was glad she did have some sensibilty when her half sisters did not have he thought as he closed his eyes.
She looked at him silently for a moment. "I know and I was ready to leave and go back and search for you alone..." she told him. She couldn't help but smile when he said it was so peaceful. "You haven't even seen the camp yet. It's different from back home but it is safe here" she said to him. Her brown eyes were locked on his.
"Outsider or not we are at least safe here. No monsters around almost every turn. Out there we might last a few months but we will always be on edge never truly safe. I know this isn't Camp Half Blood but would you risk the lives of all demigods for another to fall. If there are no camps for us where will the younger ones go? Roam the streets until a monster finds them? I don't want to see another fall I want to help if I can. I may not be a fighter but I have to try" she told him. She didn't want the events of Camp Half Blood to happen again. Outsider or not she was sure in time the Romans would be a bit nicer to them all.
"I am staying...I want to be in a place where I can actually relax and not worry about a monster everyday. A place to relax with you...Kaiden. As much as a place out there sounds great it isn't ours..." she told him. She would climb to her feet and pull him up with her. She brushed herself off and began leading him towards the bridge across. "No not even for you would I wear that skirt" she said.

He listened to her as his eyes closed and he sighed and settled in, when she was done he stopped and looked at her, "I trust you" he told her and held her his arms wrapped around her, "I always have and always will" he said after a few moments, "its why we make a good team brains and braun" he chuckled a bit but paused at her question, "I was talking me and you just leave Aurora, I doubt that they would even notice" he sighed, "Hades they think I am dead anyway" he mused as he shook his head, "but we will see, if you are happy here then maybe it will be barrable" he smiled faintly at her.
The way she worded it his eyes stayed on hers, "Aurora....I have wanted that a long time myself" he said after a few moments, "to have a normal life, without drama" he said after a few seconds, "I like fighting Aurora, I am built for it" he said after a few moments and stood with her slowly he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, before her he had not cared about much else in life, yet she made him want to be better and more he thought as he walked side by side with her his eyes wandered the bridge as he paused, "stop" he said after a few seconds as he looked at her.
Looking at her he raised his hand and touched her face, "I had a lot to think about on the way here" he said after a few moments, "good and bad...what if you were not even here that maybe something happened" as he spoke he looked at her and touched her face, "that I" he paused and shook his head, "with everything, tomorrow is not guaranteed, I don't want to wake up and realize I do not have the chance to do this" he said after a pause and wrapped her in his arms slowly his grip firm.
"I...screw it, I am bad with words" he paused and just kissed her on the lips
"They would certainly notice my absence...I still have friends here and will not abandon them or the those who remain of us Greeks" she said. "I will show you around" she told him with a soft smile as he held her. Certainly him being there would make life here much better. Certainly things could only get better rather than worse.
As Aurora led him to the bridge her gaze looked around her thoughts wandering. She listened to his words carefully. Of course many demigods wanted a peaceful life, a normal life but it was very unlikely. Few were lucky to even live to graduate from high school let alone college. "Yes I know what you were like...but somehow I changed that at least a little bit" she told him. Though she leaned to him as they walked. Though when he told her to stop she did and her brown gaze looked at him confused.
Aurora listened to him speak again and it was the realization that she felt the same. Never were they guaranteed to make it through the night. Who knew if a monster was going to kill them. She had thought of it plenty of times on the way here. Even when she had arrived she had a lot of time to think about the things she never got to say to him before he was ripped away from her. She had lived with that regret until she seen him in that tunnel.
She had no chance to even speak as he suddenly wrapped his arms around her and then kissed her. Though initially shocked she kissed him back. Her own arms wrapping around his.

He had thought of what he would say the whole ride here what he would say, how he would go about it. Maybe stop and get some flowers, some witty line like the movies that he watched to entertain Aurora when they had friendly nights to stay busy. That he would ride in, win the girl, and happily ever after maybe some witty banter and that would be it. Except that was not him, and that was never going to be the guy who could say the right words that would win the girl, he did not want to be that guy and yet he did want the girl with every fibre of his being, and as he looked down at her he realized she was worth it. Every fiber of his being shook at that moment as he kissed her.
Feeling her return it he slowly pulled her closer as his eyes closed, after several minutes he slowly pulled away to catch his breath as his eyes stayed on hers, "I...wow" he said after several moments, "I..." he seemed lost as to what to say next as he looked down into her eyes, a faint smile crossing his lips "Guess a guy does not know what he has until its almost gone" as he spoke his head bowed and he closed his eyes, he had almost lost her and that alone had made him realize how much he had missed the little girl who he had affectionatly called Cupid, she was his best friend, the better person, and he realized the better half that made everything work.
"Aurora, I...we" he stopped himself and hugged her close and tightly, almost into a bear hug, slowly he reached up and stroked her face "I do not think I am in a hurry to go anywhere anymore" chuckling a bit he held her, "I...think I found where I belong" he said after a few moments, "wherever you are" he said quietly as he held her hand and smiled down at her, realizing he did not want to live in a world without her, the time between camps was long enough, he smiled down at her.
Aurora had all but dreamed of the moment they were reunited. She had thought of what she would tell him but none of what she thought off had really happened. Except maybe the scolding of never to do something so stupid again. Though certainly the kiss hadn't been planned but she enjoyed every moment of it. It made her want to yell at her half siblings for trying to make her break Kaiden's heart. Something from the beginning she had refused to do.
Her own gaze remained locked on him. A wave of emotion flooding over her as she was just as speechless. She had not expected the kiss as the two had never truly admitted to what they felt. Though he was right about you never truly knew what you had until it was gone. When it was gone it was like an empty void inside you that nothing could truly feel. "Yeah your right about that..." she said to him.
She smiled as he suddenly hugged her tight. "Don't crush me.." she teased with a light laugh. She was glad he was so willing to stay. She knew he was doing it for her. She stayed not only because it was safer but because she wanted to spend time with him. She knew a few a few spots they could hang out in.
[attr="class","THREAD1TAG"] WORDS 225 Kayden Hoyer
Looking down into her eyes he stayed there, he did not want to move from that spot, that moment that could hang in the air for all time his eyes closed as he paused, his hand reached up and stroked her face slowly, "that...was worth everything" he said softly, the battles, blood, pain to find her and the travel it had all led to that moment, where the kiss had lit up a spark in his eyes, he could not think of many moments where they had not had a bond since they had met. She was a constant part of his life and one that he had not realized was something that he would miss if it were gone. He chuckled at her requesting to not be crushed, lightning up with the hug a bit.
"true...I dont want to break you" he mused lightly, "I would not look good in a nurses skirt" he mused a bit, with a small laugh at the picture. Yet he knew in his head, if she ever was hurt he wanted to be there and he would take care of her. It had been that way in awhile, and although he had changed and she did, he wondered if there would be a big step that would come with these things, "although I may beat up any of your half brothers who say we should split" he mused with a small chuckle, but he did frown remembering how cruel her sisters were at times he thought.
Slwoly he walked with her his hand taking hers as they did so, looking around he seemed in thought as he let out a small breath "okay...its not awful"
