Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Closing her eyes Gisella waited, blades held close in a high guard as her opponent circled her through the square of the sand. Her nostrils flared as she listened and waited, then she heard it. The telltale crunch of sand beneath the boots of her foe and spinning backwards she ducked under the incoming strike, slamming her fist into her foes side as she danced past them and waited over more. Short stave locked in beneath the longer training weapon which lay flat parallel to her jaw. Her eyes flashed open as she once again heard the crunch of sand and Gisella lunged forwards, the tip of the long stave smashing into his throat, tip first, as the short stave pushed aside the incoming strike, wrapping around into his wrist with a loud crack. The Legionnaire tried to push into her, to use their momentum to push her off balance, but Gisella being a Huntress danced swiftly away from him bringing her staves down in unison onto the centre of his spine. She crumbled quickly and she spun the staves around, slamming them down into the sand where she left them standing as the silence of the spectators enveloped her, shock perhaps at the speed and ferocity of the sparring match.
Unlike those who sparred before them Gisella offered him no help for he had challenged her, unwisely, while she was relaxing in her own way.
She watched as one of the medics rushed in to help the Legionnaire to his feet and she heard one of them scold him for challenging her, calling him an arrogant fool and mentioning the fourth cohort. Gisella sighed as she stepped out of the square and pulled Darkfang and Heartrender from the earth returning them to their scabbards at her side as Ungrim plunged from the gloomy sky to rest upon the quillons, dangling upside-down as ever. She smiled politely as a few of the Legionnaires passed her and commented upon the bout but she honestly had no interest in what any of them had to say. The Romans were… interesting but ultimately they were like the Demigods of Camp Halfblood whether they liked it or not, built for battle from the day of their birth and many of them seemed to wander without any true purpose which concerned her. She could still remember the heat of the flames, waking to the realisation that her entire life was burning yet she could remember nothing. She watched them as they tittered about the duel and the duels to follow as if hitting each other with sticks would matter, she could feel the cold sickly glow of the blades as her palms rested upon the pommels. The Stygian Iron reacting to her touch.
She watched the crowds milling and the Demigods lounging around upon the benches around the duelling square and sighed, she could not help missing her sister huntresses and their Goddess. The thrill of the hunt, being at Artemis’ right hand and every minute of her day mattering. Her family. She watched as two demigods hugged, laughing openly, and frowned as her mind turned to the fact she had no-one without the Huntresses but all the same she had a duty. Artemis has asked her to remain in the camp until her sisters returned and thus she would do her duty, always.
Gisella Von Carstein Daughter of Persephone - Lieutenant - Huntress
Born in the depths of Winter Gisella has been touched by the underworld through her mother, Persephone, though she remembers nothing of her childhood or gifts. Allow yourself to imagine this; you wake up with the scorching heat of relentless flames burning your skin despite being feet from the nearest fire, your head is cloudy and you cannot remember who you are. You struggle to your feet and pain engulfs you, a length of wood jutting from the flesh of your calf and you are completely alone amidst the burning ruins of someone’s world. Is it your world? On the ground near you there are two wicked blades, their long curved edges glistening with tainted might and even touching them feels like plunging your hands into an icy lake then you feel it. Your vision fades and suddenly you’re fluttering through the night looking at yourself, you are surrounded by archers warily watching you.
Gisella’s new life started that way, she can remember a few details like her mother, her own name, her age and the fact that she used to live in Camp Halfblood, she just cannot remember anything else and it pains her despite building a new life at Artemis’ right hand.
Platonic;Many of the Huntresses shun the company of men, even seeming uncomfortable around them, and instead choosing to remain among their own but Gisella is relatively unique in that she opens herself up to all. She is calm, collected and determined which shapes the relationships which she develops with individuals meaning that platonic relationships are often driven by that tenacity, determination. Any friend of Gisella must also be determined and be her equal in skills or intelligence lest she feel unchallenged by their presence in her life, after all she is trying to recreate herself from scratch so those who fail to challenge her offer her nothing of value when it comes to interactions or personal development. It is entirely possible that old friends of the Greek variety might be with the Romans now… who will I am sure be shocked by Gisella’s choice to join Artemis and by her new quiet, tenacious nature...
Romantic; Love is not an option for Gisella, or so she believes, but she has a life from before the flames which she does not remember. A life when she was engaged to a young woman, a daughter of Olympus...
Familial; Gisella believes that her only family are the sisterhood of Huntresses and their Goddess, Artemis. She has no idea how many of her family are still alive, and how many she has lost, let alone the pedigree of her bloodline...
Rivalries; She does not believe she has any rivals but anyone who would rise to challenge her place at Artemis' right hand would certainly qualify.
Antagonistic; Those who would dare to spoil a Huntress or defy Artemis’ wishes will immediately find they have made an enemy of Gisella, particularly men who dare to try and woo her sisters. She holds those who have strayed from their oath and the path in contempt, looking down on them and believing them to be weak traitors. Enemies.
Gisella is a strong woman, she has to be, who despite not knowing herself truly know that she is stalwart and brave. She puts loyalty to her Goddess and the love of her sister Huntresses above almost all else though she does enjoy the thrill of the Hunt. Crossing blades, felling beasts and being free. Free from the burdens of the Legionnaires and Greeks alike, free from her own past. She is a gentle soul at heart who puts the needs of others before her own and stands in the path of danger willingly. Whatever the Hunt asks of her she does and when their Goddess is apart from them Gisella stands as a loyal, diligent, cunning and careful commander who would ask nothing of her sister-hunters that she would not do herself.
[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Gisella remembers almost nothing of her life before the burning of Camp Halfblood, she remembers the heat and the feeling of the earth beneath her hands. Dry, like dust. She remembers the silvery glistening of a bow in the night as a Hunter of Artemis pulled her from the flames and tended her wounds. They camped beside the burned out husk of her home for three days while the Hunter tended her wounds and they talked, her wounds were clear signs of a battle or struggle but Gisella could offer no answers other than her name and the voice whispering in her mind; her mother. Despite not knowing herself Gisella swore that she would join the Hunters if her companion would guide her to the Goddess Artemis and thus a bargain was made. Guidance for an oath. It was but a day later that she found herself before the Goddess of the Hunt swearing to take no lover but the Hunt, to walk with the Goddess with unwavering loyalty and so being Gisella, Huntress of Artemis became her identity. Completely. [break][break] Gisella revelled in the thrill of the hunt beside Artemis and she fought valiantly against many of the beasts that crossed their path, those they hunted and otherwise, providing to be a steadfast member of the Hunt even in the face of terror incarnate. Not only did Gisella prove to be steadfast but she proved to be a loyal, loving sister to the fellow Hunters even in the absence of their leader. She led many hunts with small groups of her sisters to pursue the strange and wonderful beasts, each more dangerous than the last and whenever their Goddess walked with them Gisella grew as both a warrior and a member of the Hunt. Over the hunts and months Gisella grew closer and closer to her sister hunters and to Artemis thus when their Goddess had to leave once more it was Gisella she asked to lead them. [break][break] Gisella, who still knows nothing of her past, ascended to the rank of Lieutenant of the Hunters. To lead them in Artemis’ stead, a duty she gratefully accepted as it not only gave her a purpose but an identity and a family particularly as she rebuilds her own identity having lost herself. Literally.
Darkfang & Heartrender; Once these blades of Stygian Iron were one, a blade bound to the children of darkness and yet it was shattered upon the birth of Gisella then reforged into two blades. One measuring 12 and a half inches, far longer than most Greek blades, while the other measures a mere 5 and half inches. Each blade bears but a single unwavering edge and a sword-breaking hook near the tip, designed to wrap around blades to throw them aside or even shatter the steel. Each blade has a curved tip and sharpened quillons. The blades were there when Gisella woke and she knows only that they were a gift from her Mother in days gone by, blades given to her to protect her and allow her to flourish. Removed from the Underworld by stealth and subterfuge hidden from the sight of Hades, and all the Gods, by a sliver of Persephone’s power and only discovered as she swore her oath to Artemis. [break][break] Beast bond; The seasons are bound together with the beasts and the plants as readily as life is bound to the sun so when a Vampire Bat was born and abandoned Persephone reached out to her daughter. It is one of her few memories, the voice of her mother guiding her to the tiny creature and commanding her to care for it. To feed it from only one source and grant it only one place from which it must take water, the touch of Persephone empowered the beast letting it grow even larger than most bats. Powerful, incredibly large and fiercely loyal. Persephone’s power touched the beast granting it a bond with her daughter, meaning that Ungrim lives for as long as Gisella lives regardless of what happens to him. Should he be cut down Ungrim will regrow from the Earth and rejoin his master but every time he falls Gisella’s life is shortened by one year, only being staved off by the eternal youth of her bond to Artemis. That link forged between them by her mother allows her to see through Ungrim's eyes and command it without words though she can make no sense of the creature's thoughts. [break][break] Gifts of the Hunt;[break] Eternal Youth: Depending on who you asked the Huntresses are either blessed, or cursed, with a gift normally bestowed only upon those of true divine lineage. They cannot age and thus they do not die of old age nor illness, they may only fall in battle or upon forsaking their oaths to their Goddess. Many among their ranks have seen ages long forgotten by their short-lived kin and only remembered by the Gods though many have fallen prey to their own emotions, desires and to battle.[break] Archery: Huntresses are masters of the hunt and thus their chosen weapon, the bow. Their bows are extensions of their own being. [break] Enhanced Physical Prowess: Huntresses are strengthened beyond that even of their kin, stronger, faster and more agile than even some of the strongest amongst the children of the Gods. [break] Zoolingualism: They can communicate with wild animals, particularly predators like Wolves.[break] Equipment; A silver bow and arrows, a celestial bronze dagger and Moonwater.
