Rakan is the prototype of a roman demigod. Strict, disciplined, cold-hearted. He was born during peace, but with his head fixated on war. That is what his mother, a daughter of Timor, taught him. She always lived in fear, which is ironic for a daughter of fear itself, hence why she taught Rakan to never trust anyone, to always have a back-up plan and to be ready for the unexpected.[break][break]
So, if Rakan is always in his head, planning every single little detail, it's because of her. For the son of Orcus, life has patterns and roads and he must not only be aware of them, but be in control of them. There is nothing that he lives to chance, and is one of the many reasons why he is anxious all the time, as whenever something goes wrong, he automatically thinks it's his fault.[break][break]
This obsession with control also translates to his daily life. There always has to be order and structure, and he is never satisfied. He always wants more and doesn't know where to stop. It is actually why he decided that he preferred the third cohort instead of the first or second, as he had the necessary letters of recommendation for them. Why be mediocre in the top cohorts, when he could be the best in a mediocre cohort? Because he thinks that his legionnaires could be better. For him, everyone could do better. But they are lucky they have him, so he sees himself as their saviour.[break][break]
But don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy things, or that he can't have fun. People have seen him smile. Actually, he's always smiling. The thing is that there is always some ulterior motive, even if he doesn't show it. He will treat you nice as long as he gets something in return, even if you don't know about it. [break][break]
But don't worry, for he will never betray you, as you will never find someone as loyal as him.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Rakan's early years were no different than any other legacy born in New Rome. Son of a daughter of Timor, the first thing he remembers is of monsters and demigods. He remembers living among those like himself, but never really feeling like he was part of them, even as a child. [break][break]
Because of the fear induced by his mother, he always had the need to shy away from his peers. While they were having fun, as much as a seven years old roman demigod could, Rakan was playing by himself. While they were training in groups, Rakan was training alone. While they learned in class, Rakan found company in the books his mother took for him. As you can see, everything is her fault. [break][break]
But Rakan appreciates it. All that time alone taught him things that not even New Rome could teach. He learned how to fend for himself, not depending on people to achieve what he could do alone. But more importantly, he learned about them without giving himself away. Looking from afar, he studied them. They were demigods that were taught to hang on to one another, that strength laid in numbers. He was a demigod that learned how control them, how each and every one of them was a valuable piece, and he knew where their next move was.[break][break]
This is why the Wolf House was easy for him. Lupa had no problem training him because he had been training like that for years. It doesn't mean he didn't suffer, or that there aren't any scars to prove he went through there, but every struggle was only a motivation to continue. [break][break]
And when he got back to Camp Jupiter, everyone was expecting him to be appointed to the first cohort. It was his mother's cohort, where long ago she shined, inducing fear in whoever tried to compete with here. It was a given he would accept the invitation, he had a letter of recommendation for it, but then his head turned around to another cohort.[break][break]
Lupa didn't have many new things to teach Rakan that he didn't already know, but one thing she did was teaching him that, no matter what, he couldn't do everything alone. Just like a pack of wolves, Rakan would become one when he became a legionnaire, and wolves competing against each other wasn't the answer. That is what would have happened if he decided to go where he supposedly belonged. [break][break]
So he threw away the first recommendation letter and kept the one for the third cohort. Right in the middle, where he would have the chance to shine, but also to bring the best out of his team. And instead of fear, like his mom wanted to, Rakan brought order and structure. It's why it wasn't long before they decided to appoint him Centurion after years and years of training and a pair of quests without fail.[break][break]
It's now been 8 years since he past through the Wolf House. The arriving of the Greeks is a massive change that he wasn't prepare, and a challenge that he must face. But one thing is for sure, he will not fail.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]POWERS, SKILLS & WEAPONS
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
[ NECROMANCY · MAJOR ] Rakan has control over the souls of those who have broken oaths. He is able to sense them and summon them, either as skeletons or as ghosts, with a telepathic connection in order to command them. He has knowledge on how they died but, more specifically, on what is the oath that they broke, no matter how small or irrelevant. His advantage over those descendants of the Underworld is that the souls summoned only answer to him, as they are belong to Orcus. Usually Rakan sacrifices his stamina, or even a part of his life force, to use his power. But, with time, he has learned to use the energy around him, which is one reason why nature dies around him when he uses his abilities.[break][break]
[ PUNISHMENT · MINOR ] As a legacy of Timor, Rakan has the power of temporary inducing those who have broken oaths feelings such as rage, hatred or fear, but never to the full extent of those direct descendants of Timor. For this, he is able to sense those oathbreakers and punish them. This ability is limited to what is within his range (it is indifferent if they are visible of not as he can sense them), and those with strong will can easily fight it off.[break][break]
[ KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEAD · SKILL ] As a child of the Underworld, Rakan spent a chunk of his time there, as an invitation from his father to learn about what lies ahead of his mortal life. There, Rakan trained, both physically and mentally, learning about the creatures that run around there. Where his expertise lies is in the Fields of Punishment, realm lead by Orcus, the prime torturer.[break][break]
[ STRATEGIST · SKILL ] Rakan is known for being a good strategist (which outweighs his not-so-good fighting skills), due to being so strict with rules and laws. He knows by memory every strategy or formation created by the romans, and pushes himself every day to create new ones that can ensure the safety of his peers and the camp.[break][break]
[ STYGIAN IRON DAGGER · WEAPON ] A gift from his father, the dagger was made by the souls of those that broke their oaths as their punishment. Just like every other weapons known from this material, Rakan's dagger is pure black, with lines in the shape of the monsters it last killed in its blade. When he's not using the weapon, it transforms into multiple iron chains worn around his neck. Sometimes he uses it as a catalyst for his abilities and, no matter how many times it breaks, even if it ends up in dust, it always comes back to its original form.
