Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

The arrival of the Greeks into Camp Jupiter could pose a problem, so of course it was also Caius' problem. He was neither Centurion nor Praetor, but his sense of responsibility and duty towards Camp Jupiter had been ingrained into him since birth. For generations upon generations, his family had dedicated their lives in the name of the goddess Securitas to protecting New Rome, and it was now Caius' turn to uphold this legacy. From the moment the first Greek stragglers had arrived, he worried and pondered, wondering what could happen next and concerned for the future. It wasn't that he doubted the legionnaires could take on any threat that came at them; it was the fact that the enemy could be within these very walls, posing as a traumatised demigod. The son of Mars was not so heartless that he did not look upon the wounded - physically as well as emotionally and mentally - without feeling for their plight, unlike some of the other legionnaires he knew. He could only imagine their pain, but at the same time, would the hospitality of the Romans come back to bite them?
Additionally, he couldn't say he was all that impressed with the lackadaisical and careless attitude displayed by their house guests. Caius had always had high standards, not only of others but also of himself, and a part of him wanted to help the Greeks up to reach the Roman standards. But at the same time, he was not there to hold anyone's hand - every single legionnaire in Camp Jupiter, and every single legionnaire in New Rome, and every single Roman demigod since the beginning of time, had all learned to uphold the standards in their own right. No one would help another face Lupa. The Greeks would just have to learn on their own, and Caius hoped they would soon; the Centurions and Praetors were chomping at the bit, practically frothing at the mouth, at the seemingly willful lack of respect displayed by the Greeks.
And so Caius spent almost all of his free time thinking and trying to strategise, but it was difficult when there were so many variables and so many unknowns. Was there really a traitor who burned down Camp Halfblood, or was it something else entirely? Was there more than one traitor? What were the motives? Would they have had any help from anyone else - perhaps a god, or multiple gods, or monsters, or other demigods not within their own camp? Was there anything suspicious; did anyone notice anything that could prove useful? In other matters, would there be more Greeks coming into Camp Jupiter? Would they need another barracks? Would there be enough space to hold everyone or would they need to look at expanding some more? What about supplies? Where would the Greeks go after serving ten years - would those rules apply to them?
The endless questions and not very many answers often drove Caius quite insane. He wasn't a Centurion himself so he knew it wasn't really his place to worry about it, but he always thought of the future, too. His goals included getting a high ranking position in New Rome; the Greeks would be a problem for years to come. The son of Mars had since resigned himself to not graduating at the end of the year like he'd hoped. He'd need to keep an eye on things within camp, at least until there was a more clear direction of the future. At least he was somewhat lucky, being included in some of the meetings with the Centurions and Praetors because of his ability, lineage, and his experience in strategising. It was why he found himself in the Principia one afternoon, heading towards the library still thinking of the last meeting and looking at getting his hands on a map.
His musings were interrupted by a sudden waft of dust being blown into his face. Automatically, Caius' eyes closed and he turned his face away to sneeze, before he finally turned to look at whoever it was. It was a girl whose face he'd seen around camp every now and then - second cohort if he was right - but her name escaped him. Something he was unsure to pronounce? She was certainly no Centurion, though, and so the son of Mars asked, "Do you need some help with something?" While waiting for an answer, he glanced around looking for the scrolls of maps, making his way towards them as soon as he spotted them. Technically speaking, anyone who wasn't allowed in wouldn't actually find themselves in the Principia considering the guards at the door, so Caius wasn't too worried about the girl's presence.

[ IMPERSONAL ] - caius is very aloof; he doesn't take or make things personal until absolutely necessary. he prefers to remain at an emotional distance from everything. he tries not to hold grudges or make assumptions based on his personal opinions. when approaching a situation, he tries his best to look at it from all angles, making logical conclusions, and ensuring he looks at things from multiple perspectives. [break][break] [ CALCULATING ] - because caius' approach to things are very strategical, this makes him a very calculating person. he's not the type to go into things head first; if he does take risks, they are usually calculated. for big issues, he usually needs to take the time to weigh the pros and cons, but he can think on the fly. once he does make the plan, he usually sticks and commits to it. [break][break] [ PRIVATE ] - he is outwardly unemotional, internally intense - it's not that caius has things to hide, it's just he prefers not to share who he is to just anyone he meets. he is definitely not the type to wear his heart on his sleeve, and to some he may seem cold or uninterested, and in some cases he might definitely be, but depending on the person and situation, caius can be very fiery in private. [break][break] [ RESPONSIBLE ] - above all things, caius considers his duties to the legion as the most important thing. he's never yet come across something that he would choose over camp jupiter, and he's perfectly happy with this, because his service to the romans is something he imagines he will end up doing for the rest of his life. this is his one true ambition and he will strive to meet it. [break][break] [ PROTECTIVE ] - caius tries not to seem 'defensive' at times, but it cannot be denied that he is a very protective person. he does care about things and people that are important to him, the few that there are, and he would die for them. he is the kind of person who would have a battle strategy ready to go in a couple of hours to rescue the praetors if that sort of situation ever arose, and while he may not necessarily be the first person to throw a punch, he won't stop until the threat has been neutralised. [break][break] [ HIGH STANDARDS ] - because caius has such high standards for himself, he tends to have expectations for others as well. it won't ever be as stringent as the standards he has for himself, because he feels he knows his own capabilities and therefore always pushes himself to be the best. but it can't be denied that caius expects what he believes is the bare minimum from everyone, and that involves not only their personal conduct and their responsibilities, but also in the way they present themselves. caius also has high standards in weapons, armour, and other physical things. [break][break] [ SERIOUS ] - above all things, caius has gravitas. he's not one to usually crack a joke at something, and it might even look as though he doesn't get a joke because he doesn't laugh as much as the next person. caius is a very serious person, and he finds himself too busy to be frolicking about camp and cracking jokes. he also can't stand it when people can't take serious things seriously, like strategy planning.
[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
[ MOTHER ] - octavia emerson, demigod (distant legacy of securitas)[break] [ FATHER ] - mars, god of war[break] [break] Claimed: Yes[break] Years at camp: Nine[break][break] ( zero )[break][break] the emersons were an old roman demigod family. as far as they could remember, their family and their ancestors had always lived in new rome, having descended from a child of securitas. the first demigod in their family had lived so long ago that the family no longer remembered his name, but every generation of emerson was expected to contribute to the service of new rome. usually, that expectation rested on all the children born in a generation, but this expectation was even more so on the oldest child. somewhat unluckily, despite their long godly history, the emersons have always had a single direct line - events have always occurred where there has only ever been one surviving heir within a generation to carry on the emerson name. [break][break] octavia emerson was the middle daughter. she had an older brother nero and a younger sister priscilla, and for the longest time she lived her life without quite the stress nor expectation that her older brother had. of course, octavia was subservient to the legion - it was part of their family culture, after all. they had been born and raised as roman warriors, and despite only being the second child, octavia was still expected to fall in line and dedicate her life to new rome. and so she did so gladly, but also with a sense of relief that she was not the centre of attention in her family. [break][break] unfortunately, when nero was twenty-five, he was attacked by a monster while trying to save a demigod during a quest, and did not survive. after the mourning period was over, the burden of the family name rested on octavia's shoulders. while both sisters were expected to find husbands and raise children for the next generation of emersons, octavia took it even more so upon herself as she was the oldest. she had just decided to bite the bullet and take the marriage proposal from one of the nice but boring demigods in new rome, when she fell in love with someone else: mars. [break][break] ( five )[break][break] by that time, octavia was twenty-six and had all but given up on love. but then she met mars, and their whirlwind love affair resulted in caius - the first demigod legacy child in their family for a long time. as his grandparents fawned over him, baby caius did not realise that he would soon have double and maybe even triple the expectation his predecessors had. as soon as he could walk and talk, he was taught the way of the legion, learning latin side by side with english, and how to carry a sword side by side with how to hold a pencil. he learned to tie his shoelaces side by side with how to put on armour, and learned to carry his backpack at the same time he learned to carry a miniature shield his grandfather made for him. [break][break] caius was five when his aunt priscilla disappeared, and while the family mourned, octavia had also gritted her teeth and continued to train her son as best as she could. this was the curse of their family, although no one admitted to it or paid it any attention. it was only a matter of time before one heir would be born. for her part, octavia made sure she would never herself get to experience what it would be like to lose a child to the emerson misfortune - caius was the only child she would have. [break][break] ( ten )[break][break] as a result of being an only child, caius received all the attention, training, and pressure of his family. as he grew older, he was taught in various martial arts and combat tactics. his grandfather taught him how to play chess and go, teaching him tactics and strategy, always trying to get caius to think outside the box. caius was taken on hiking and camping trips, taught how to survive in the wild, and how to fight monsters. his childhood was filled with preparation in his role to serve the legion and new rome, and to uphold his family's honour. [break][break] his mother and grandfather also helped him to find his ability, training him in his odikinesis as soon as they pinpointed how it worked. it was always little things at first - after all, as caius was the first demigod legacy in the family for generations, neither octavia nor her father knew just how potent it could be, and while they wanted caius to be the best, they also did not want to completely exhaust him. he was, after all, the sole heir, octavia flat out refusing to remarry and have more children. his family did not want him to come to any sort of accidental harm - monsters were something they could take, but the extent of his abilities were a mystery and something he would have to find out for himself. [break][break] caius was thirteen when he was dropped off to lupa. it was perhaps a bit late for a child of new rome, but his mother wanted to ensure he was ready for it. the old wolf was not outwardly impressed by caius' ability, but since his arrival into new rome, caius has learned that his training with lupa was nowhere near as painful nor as difficult as the others'. he never believed that lupa was taking it easy on him, but perhaps she had realised how much training he'd already been put through and recognised he was ready for camp jupiter with only a bit more polishing. caius travelled to his new home with a recommendation from his grandfather and mother, ensuring his position in the first cohort. [break][break] ( fifteen )[break][break] one of caius' earlier quests was with a couple of other demigods to rescue another demigod. he was fifteen years old and already hungry to prove himself. he wasn't the type to recklessly charge into situations, but in this particular one, he'd somehow gotten separated from the others, and that was when the cyclops decided to strike. caius efficiently fought it off well enough to survive by himself, before its next attack injured his leg to such an extent that he lost his hold on the imperial gold sword. caius was just about to send a prayer to his father, when out of nowhere some girl appeared and ran for his sword. no one else had seen him here, and no mortal could see the thing he was fighting, so naturally caius assumed it was the daughter of venus he had travelled with. [break][break] for some reason, she hadn't attacked the monster very well, and instead of actually killing it, the cyclops instead chased after her. the futility of the situation had caius cursing and shouting as he demanded his weapon back, his power affecting himself as he lost control of it and making his temper worse. he'd just managed to retrieve his sword and had turned back to the cyclops to resume his attack on it, when the girl threw something small and dark at it. it was useless, though, apparently nothing too heavy or serious to inflict any damage, and caius cursed again before he ran after the cyclops and finally ran his sword through it. [break][break] as it disappeared into dust, some of the particles got into his eyes, and caius cursed some more. it was quite truly one of the most harrowing situations he'd been in, primarily because his powers had gone haywire as well as because he felt as though there had been too many stupid mistakes in the way they had fought. and so he berated himself, calling himself an idiot, as he tried to get the grit out of his eyes. he only calmed down when the girl finally placed her hand on his shoulder, counteracting his odikinesis with her own amokinesis, changing the mood from fury to camaraderie. at last, caius opened his eyes, calmed, and thanked the daughter of venus. on their exit, caius came upon a necklace someone had dropped with a ring on it, as well as the bar he had seen thrown at the monster - a snickers bar, of all things, which he just handed back to the girl while shaking his head. no one knew who the necklace belonged to, though, so caius shrugged and decided to wear it as a token of that fight and coming the closest he had ever come to actually losing his life. [break][break] ( twenty )[break][break] as he'd gotten older, caius began to learn more about his family's history and expectations for his future. he'd always known he'd come from a long line legionnaires, and he'd always known there was a lot expected from him, and that's why he had been trained since he was very young to become a warrior. but when octavia's father passed on, octavia decided it was time to also let caius know about his duty to carry on their lineage. she had been sympathetic to him, of course, as that had been her position a while ago, and told him that there was no need to rush to get married and have a child. octavia didn't even strongly suggest looking around now - only letting him know this was what their family had done for perhaps centuries. [break][break] caius understood this, of course, but he'd never been in a rush to find a girl or get in a relationship. for caius, serving the legion had always been his top and only priority and it has only been within the last few months that he's realised that perhaps looking at settling down and making a family was also another way of serving the legion. he has been at camp for nine years, after all - most legionnaires left after ten years to settle in new rome. and so he has sort of slightly entertained the daughter of venus that had been by his side six years ago. he doesn't really have strong feelings for her, but caius has never been overly sentimental. she was pretty and she was an alright person, he couldn't ask for more than that. [break][break] now that the greeks are arriving into their camp, caius is starting to think he may not get to leave camp jupiter next year. surely the legion would need more demigods in camp to deal with whatever crisis the greeks were going to bring. it was fine with caius; he had been in no rush to graduate, and secretly he was worried the daughter of venus would pursue a more serious relationship or commitment as soon as they were both out of camp. caius understood the expectations, but he wasn't quite ready to commit to it completely. no, for caius, all he wanted to do was serve the legion in the war room, and so he would continue to hold out for as long as he could.
[ MASTER STATEGIST + ODIKINESIS (WAR MANIPULATION) ] [break][break] caius' primary power is odikinesis, or the ability to manipulate feelings. primarily, as a son of mars, he works best with rage, hate, and bloodlust, however his particular flavour of ability also allows him to inspire feelings of glory in battle and duty to the legion. he is also able to heavily influence any sort of strategical meeting, whether it be around a war table or within a small group of demigods out on a quest. despite this ability, though, caius does not necessarily use his influence to make others follow his ideas in strategy - he prefers to actually come up with sound and logical tactics rather than rely on his power. he has always been very dutiful and responsible, and sending demigods out to war (even in the war games) and quests always rests heavily on his shoulders. luckily for him, he is also a good strategist, and has the innate ability to be able to look at a map, an army, supply lines, and weaponry, and figure out the best ways to move forward. considering this combination of influence, caius would make a great general, and in fact it is his life's ambition to serve new rome in this capacity. [break][break] weaknesses: caius' natural odikinesis only goes one way: up. he cannot cause others to lose inspiration or rage in battle. additionally, while the range of his odikinesis can be physically vast, he has no control over who will be affected by his power - meaning if he is close enough to an enemy, he will also turn up their desire for glory and their bloodlust. it can be good in some ways, for example getting an enemy so mad that they can't think, only charge. he also doesn't always have full control over his odikinesis, so when he himself is affected by emotion, his power also tends to react. the wider the range that he spreads his influence, the weaker it becomes and the more energy it costs him. his energy levels are also affected by how strong he pushes his power towards others, and if he tries to narrow the scope. a major weakness in his abilities is that after using a particularly large amount, or for an extended period of time, his odikinesis will continually leak out of his pores, consuming his energy, and he would be unable to stop it until he passes out and “resets”. it has only happened once, at the first war games where he’d been chosen as one of the main leaders of the team - needless to say, it was a lesson he hadn’t forgotten. [break][break] [ NATURAL WARRIOR ] - as a child of mars as well as a roman legionnaire, caius is well versed in many forms of combat. he is proficient in a variety of weapons, and is also skilled in various hand to hand methods of fighting. caius likes to think that he can go into an arena and be able to study his opponent well enough to form a strategy after a few moves - therefore, caius is not usually one to strike first.
