Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

It was clear that she was surprised by his answer, but he had been incredibly honest. He had not been just pulling a line on her. Gabe actually truly cared for Ruby. He always had. Though he knew that she was unlikely to believe him, he at least had tried to be open with her. " I know it probably sounds like another line, me telling you that it isn't one, but I mean it. I really have no intention of trying to pull some bull crap on you." He let it go though, thinking that it was probably just digging him a much bigger hole.
"Yeah I guess in our lifestyle you can't really make big plans, never knowing what tomorrow is going to bring. I mean, one day we are living our daily lives the next a bunch of Greeks are invading." he laughed, though it was true. The fact that the Greeks were showing up just made him worry what might happen to their Camp now. Was it going to cause more issues? He had not heard if the Augur had seen anything yet, but he couldn't being to imagine what it might be doing to the poor girl. Not to mention Dareios and Morrigan. They were likely going insane.
" Maybe we need to move that pact up then, we never know what tomorrow might bring so, why don't we throw caution to the wind and you let me try to prove to you that I'm not just throwing things out there at you. That I'm not just trying to get you in my bed?" her smirked, trying to make it sound like a joke, but he was clearly being genuine with that. Gabe had feelings for Ruby, feelings he had hidden for ages, not wanting to ruin the friendship that they had. She was someone he cared very deeply for, but he also knew that she just thought him to be some player. Maybe he was at one point, but he had never pulled any of that on her.
Gabe chuckled again and shook his head, " No offense to dear old mom, but you put me to shame Ruby. You really should see yourself the way I see you." he grinned. Things with her came so easily. The words just drifting out, no charm speak, no Venus thing, just, him. Gabe was trying to keep it all in check, but dang it was hard when he was near her. He bit his lip a second as he looked at her, " That baby would be one of the most beautiful babies to ever be born, not only here, but ever. Can you imagine? A total bad gluteus maximus like you, and our combined personalities and looks? No stopping them." he could see it now. Either way, that child would be a total heart breaker, and it made his own heart clench just thinking about it, holding their baby in his arms. He had to take a deep breath and let that image go, though it was still there at the forefront of his mind, no matter how much he tried to push it away.
" It was a compliment." he smiled down at her, his hand resting on her waist as the moved to the beat of the song, a song he was wishing would continue to play and never end. Yes, the son of Venus was a total romantic, it came with the territory. He held her close against him, feeling her head against his chest he knew she would be able to hear how fast his heart was going, how hard it thumped against his rib cage as he held this amazing woman in his arms. Gods he was smitten and he knew that he was going to head for a heart break of his own if he wasnt' careful. Though was that going to stop him? Heck no.
Her words about love made him wonder, would that really be possible? He had hopes that it would, but he was finding that it might be more difficult to get the one he wanted. Ruby. Yeah, he was very sure of what he wanted, but he wasn't sure she was going to be willing to trust him enough for it. " I hope so. I like hearing you talk about it like that, gives me real hope." his admitted the words softly as his fingers reached up to run through her hair as they danced, just holding her close against him, like the rest of the world didn't matter.
" I will do my best not to. So hopefully we won't need that pizza place." he thought about it and pushed his luck, " We can save pizza for the second date." yeah, he was pushing, but he was curious to see what her reaction was going to be when she heard him bring up a second date before they even had their first. " Or would that be the third? I would like to count this dance as a date." he teased her gently and chuckled, keeping his blue and green eyes on her face. " Unless you changed it, I do." he reached out to tuck a piece of her hair that had fallen across her face behind her ear.
The faster pace of the next dance had him grinning ear to ear, his face flushed as they moved their bodies in time together on the dance floor. His hands fell to her waist as they moved, pulling her flush against him as they danced. His heart was racing but he was loving every minute of this. " You are a great dancer Torres!" he grinned and grabbed her hand to spin her again, moving her around him and behind his back, then back out in front of him again with another spin. Gods, he had not danced like this in ages, and he was loving it.
" I would never do that to you Ruby. You actually mean too much to me for that. Sounds like a line I know, and you might not still believe me, but its the truth." he had always enjoyed being around her, she challenged him, and that was something he greatly needed in his life. She was more than good at keeping him on his toes. It was always great to have that in his life, because there were very few people that he trusted, and she was one of them. She showed him that he was not just some pretty boy that got his way because of a few well placed words. She made him work for it.
" Yeah I suppose, though only if she wants it. I don't have like...definitive plans. If they don't want it its not a make or break type of situation." he shrugged. Truth be told, all he wanted was a family. It seemed stupid that a guy like Gabe would want the whole commitment, settle down kind of thing, but the truth was, that was exactly what he wanted. A flush crossed his cheeks as she came up with a contingency plan. " Yeah alright, its a deal. Ten years and we make a baby." She was right, the kid would be a powerhouse, and insanely gorgeous, especially if they looked like their mom. " Oh Hades yeah they would. Plus, can you imagine the looks on that kid? If they even remotely look like their mom, watch out." he winked at her, it was very very true.
" Sure, I'll totally do that." he chuckled, but he had not been kidding. He would take her back to his place then and there and play for her if she so wished it. Ruby had him wrapped around her finger, and didn't even know it. Though the fact of that was something he would hide from her, not wanting to open that particular can of worms. " You are going to be a fanstastic lawyer if thats what you are going for. Its hard to tell you no." he grinned at her, his blue and green eyes trained on her face.
He nodded slowly, she was right of course. " That is something that I never thought I would be able to have. Still am not too optimistic that I will. I want that, to have someone that actually loves and cares about me. Someone I can dedicate my life to, but...well, you know my track record." he had tried, more than once, but it always ended up going down the crapper. Asking her out was the hardest thing he had to do in a while. She made him so dang nervous, and yet, here he was doing just that. " Yeah, I am. I mean you don't have to but.." he trailed off as she said she would. " In that case, I'll have to make sure I don't burn it."
She said yes, SHE SAID YES? By the gods, he never thought that would happen, but there they were, her agreeing to going out with him. Dang. Luck was clearly on his side. " I learned at an early age how to dance, yes." he held one of her hands as they danced in time to the music together, spinning her once and pulling her into him so they could sway their hips together to the beat.
Gabe smirked and shook his head, " Flattery? Me? Never. Anyone else I might be pulling crap on, but not you Ruby. Never you. I'm not stupid. I know that is like playing with fire. Hitting on you? THat is a high possiblity, but pulling bull? Nah." he chuckled but he was being honest. He meant what he said to Ruby. She was too dangerous to try that. Gabe shrugged, his eyes on hers as he sipped from his glass before setting it carefully back down on the bar. Taking a deep breath he nodded, " Three kids actually. A golden retriever maybe. Brownies over cookies, but everything else, yes. I want all of that. Don't need the library or the political office though. I just don't think that would ever be in the cards for me." he figured Rey could pull it off, and maybe he himself could if he was so inclined but the truth was he wasn't. He had not interest in the political life, only in music.
A crooked grin crossed his lips as he watched her tease him about the Dom. " I don't even think they carry it." he chuckled again and ran his hand slowly over the wood grain of the bar. He looked up, he had forgotten how often she managed to make it to his shows. She actually seemed to enjoy his music, which was a nice feeling. Knowing someone like her was out there wanting to listen to him, well, it made all the difference in the world. " You know any time you want a private concert all you have to do is ask." yes that was flirting, no he was not sorry. He would gladly bring his guitar anywhere where she might be to play for her.
Her hand in his sent some electric feeling through him, one he was completely trying to ignore because he was afraid she might think badly of him if he commented on it, or think that it was just him trying to be like his mother. Ugh. He never knew where he stood in these situations. Though as they swayed to the beat he smiled down at her. " You are probably right about that. The getting into my own head thing, but honestly, it's hard to know who to trust. Most girls around here are so easily swayed by the powers, and I can't control it. You though, you seem completely immune to my charm." He ran his hand a little further up her back, trying to be a gentleman, even though he wanted to let it fall further down her waist instead.
She lay her head on his chest and he swore he could hear his heart thudding in his ears. What the Hades? Why was she having this effect on him? He closed his eyes, letting his head rest on top of hers as they swayed to the song. "No, I guess I haven't. Why...would you go out on a date with me Torres? I mean, it would be a lot of fun. We know we get along and all that stuff. I could cook for you..." what was he doing? Was he actually doing this?
So much had happened since the last time he had spent any time with Ruby, so this was definetly a good night already. Most were intimidated by her back in the legion, but he had always found her to be a breath of fresh air. Where other girls could get a little on the clingy side when it came to him and his accidental power usage, she always just kept him on his toes, and he could appreciate that. Not many were able to do that, but she was. Ruby was a powerhouse, he always thought as much, and seeing her tonight, dressed to kill well, all he could think was dayum. She was a stunning woman, and could kick his butt too. Not a bad combination for a woman.
" well I do try darlin." he chuckled and shrugged, " I figured might as well. You work hard, most beautiful woman in the room, you deserve to be treated like the queen you are." he grinned at her, sipping from his own glass as he looked around the room. There was no denying that others were also enjoying the sight of the brunette beauty, and he was just there, keeping her company and maybe keeping her from getting hit on by too many guys that wouldn't even begin to deserve her. Hades, not that he did, but he wished he was that lucky.
" Doesn't sound too terrible. I could never follow the family footsteps, I don't think I'm really cut out to be a politician." he shrugged. He left that to his father, and maybe Rey would do it, but it just was not something that Gabe had any interest in what so ever. " Nah, I think I'll keep to the plan. Though if you decide you want a whole bottle of Dom we might have to rethink that." he chuckled and sipped from his glass again, the heat of the drink warming him up from the inside out with each passing sip.
He shook his head, " I wasn't scheduled to, but I'm sure if you wanted me to sing for you I would just offer to sing one for you. The owner wouldn't mind the free entertainment I'm sure." he smirked at her as he polished off his drink and held his finger up for another to the bartender with a soft smile. " Ah Ruby, alas, I am without a sweetheart and have been for awhile now. Those dang powers of mine keep me from knowing if someone actually gives a crap about me. So, I've kind of..kept my distance from the remote possiblity of a sweetheart. It's lonely, but its safer than not knowing." he leaned a bit on his elbow, watching her, " I would have asked you to dance either way Torres." He held his hand out to her, ' Shall we?"
Some nights you just needed a good, stiff drink. Tonight was one of those for Gabe. He had been in the studio in his home most of the day working on a new song, and after that he realized how long it had been since he had gotten out and socialized. Sometimes it was hard for the son of Venus to be out among people. Sometimes his powers just seeped out of him and made people do things that they wouldn't normally do. Sometimes it lead to someone coming home with him and after he had to ask himself if they wanted to actually be with him or it was just the powers that were making them do it. It really wasn't a good feeling, and the man often wondered what that would mean for him in his personal life.
For the longest time he had avoided trying to get into an actual relationship. He was not the type to shy away from others, but lately he just couldn't help it. He needed to work on his music, needed to be away from distractions in order to do it, but it was lonely too. His brother was still around as well, though he had not gone with it when Rey had asked him to be a roommate. He wanted his own place, and the two of them would have been constantly fighting over it.
Stepping into the bar that he normally went to, not that there were many options in New Rome, he nodded to the owner who normally booked him for gigs when they wanted live music. Going over to the bar he ordered a bourbon straight up and sat down there, chatting with the bartender. Though that all stopped when he saw her come in. Ruby Torres. Alot of people thought she was mean or hard to handle, or several other things, but Gabe never thought so. They were the same age, left the legion at the same time, and he didn't mind spending time with her. She made him laugh, and that was something he could really appreciate.
He gestured to the bartender to get her a drink and slid over to the stool next to hers. " Ruby, you look beautiful as always." he smiled at her, that usual devilish grin that tended to get him in trouble from time to time. " Drinks are on me." he leaned back a bit on his own seat and looked her over, "I hear you are going the college route. How are you enjoying it? Not too boring for you?" he sipped his bourbon as her drink was set in front of her.

He may have been born and raised in the San Francisco bay area of Northern California, but Gabe is a country boy at heart. Confusing yes, but he always felt like he should have been born in the south. He loves to play music on his acoustic guitar, writing his own country songs or playing covers. He feels like a fish out of water at at times, though all he has ever known of home was California, so being in New Rome is nice, but a little hemmed in for him. Being the son of a politician he has always had to be the seen and not heard type. If he got in trouble it was always worse and so he tries to really stay out of the eye of the centurions and praetors. Gabe has temper issues that rival even his mother Aphrodite herself. If he gets angry, he gets really angry. He has been known to put his fist through a window when he was upset, cutting his hand up but not even realizing it at the time, or even acting like it was a big deal. He is very respectful to authority figures, even if he does not actually respect them, he at least pulled it off to where they thought he meant it. He's a great actor/liar, and he has no problem with lying to get something he wants, be that a pretty girl, or that last slice of pizza.

Richard Graymark had been a widower for a few years when he met the beautiful goddess Venus. He had quickly fallen for her and the two had a brief whirlwind romance. A little less than a year later, he recieved a knock on the door and there she was, back again. This time though she had two babies with her. Little boys that she had named Gabriel and Rey. She left the boys with Richard, who quickly hired a nanny as he was now dating a California state judge by the name of Isabella. He explained to her about his boys, but not who their mother really was. The two got married a year later, and Isabella was that typical step mother that you always read about in the fairy tales. She wasn't really evil, she just couldn't have cared less about the boys. Her career always came first. [break][break]
As they got older, Gabriel became more interested in cowboys and horses, and he wanted to learn to play guitar. Richard got him everything he asked for, guitar lessons, a horse and horseback riding lessons at the stables near by their massive mansion home. The two boys were sent to one of the premier private schools in San Francisco for their schooling, and it was there that the two really started to grow apart. They hung out in completely different crowds, Gabe spending his after school hours at his various lessons. Girls came and went in high school, Gabe seemed to go through them once a month, because none of them seemed to be perfect for him. A few even became infatuated with him and that was weird. He had to hide out as much as he could when that happened. It was kind of scary. .[break][break]
One day, he and Rey were going hiking near Mount Tam when a monster came out of no where. The two had to fight it and some how managed to kill the thing. Though they weren't sure what had just happened. When they told their father about it, he explained to them about their mother, and worried for their safety, took them to the wolf house. After awhile with the wolf, the boys were sent to the legion, Gabriel ending up in the third cohort, Rey in the fourth. It caused even more of a rift between the boys, but Gabe didn't care. He just wanted to do his years and be done with it. The years went by pretty quickly, and a year ago, Gabriel finally made it through his service. Now, being an adult in New Rome, he was working on living a life withouth the structure he had before. He spends time singing in the club in New Rome, and also is constantly working on songs as he is thinking of putting out an album. [break][break]
So as far as powers go, he feels like he got the short end of the stick. Then again, at the same time the power of Amokinesis isn't too bad to have. Through it he has the ability to control the emotion of love or desire in others. It has served him well in the past, and he feels a little bad for it, but some girls are just easy to manipulate. He wasn't aware he had the power until he was about 14, so it was all accidental when he used it in the past. If he does use it, it can back fire on him, because on occasion infatuation has happened, and he had to hide from the girl that he accidently used it on. He has the other powers that come with being a son of Venus, like the ability to speak French fluently, and control over his clothes and hair. Though he doesnt use that one so much, he doesnt mind being dirty.
