Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] People loved the saying dreams come true but would they still love it if it was about their literal dreams coming true? Riven shuddered at the thought as he watched the scene in front of him unfold, the dream shifting into something darker with each moment that passed. As if a heavy veil was being dropped on top of him he was plunged into utter darkness, the momentary nothingness signaling the change of dreams. It was that moment most people never got to experience because they usually either found themselves waking up or somewhere in the middle of another dream scenario.
However, for Riven it was as vivid as reality. So he stood there, unmoving, his breathing slow and steady as he waited for the silence and darkness to pass. It felt like hours, even though in reality only seconds had passed before the darkness shifted and he was out of the dream. The person must have woken up. He fully expected to be thrown into the next mind but instead, he was awake as well. He was calm and unbothered while asleep but now that he was awake and sitting up straight on his bed inside the fourth cohort’s barracks he was breathing rather rapidly.
Covering his face with his hands he took a moment to compose himself before running a hand through his hair, the roots slightly damp from sweating. Riven looked around the dark room. It was quiet, the only noise breaking the silence was the snoring of his cohort mates. Carefully, he slipped out of his bunk, grabbing a light hoodie he wiggled into as he made his way through the door to the porch.
He closed the door behind him without making much noise but someone outside still managed to hear him sneak out. For a moment he thought it was his centurion about to catch him out during curfew but on further inspection, he noticed it was one of the newer legionnaires. The other demigod bolted up from their seat and Riven immediately raised his arms in a surrendering gesture to show that he was harmless… or as harmless as a demigod could be anyway.
"Sorry sorry," he whispered, keeping his voice low, "I didn’t mean to scare you. Can’t sleep either? Let me guess... the scary Praetors are haunting you in your dreams, huh?"
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Riven didn’t even realize he fell asleep. One moment he was just resting with his eyes open and the next he found himself wandering through the darkest of tunnels. He couldn’t see anything, nor could he hear anything. It was almost as if all his senses were shut off but he knew it was just his mind searching to connect to another. Ever since he was aware of his powers happening he never felt comfortable walking into someone else’s dreams, even if most were strangers.
As silent steps carried him through the seemingly never-ending darkness, Riven started visualizing a corridor. Walls, doors, wooden floors that cracked underneath his weight, and each light-footed step he made. The dream world or perhaps one should say, the unconscious of a person, was highly complicated - and so was navigating through it especially as a demigod. Riven had by no means the powers of his father. He couldn’t easily slip in and out of a dream, put someone to sleep, or even himself. Maybe it was unfair. Maybe it was a blessing.
With each step further down the darkness, door after door appeared. The brunet halted in front of one. It was plain looking, nothing special - just a door. His hand curled around the knob and he tried turning it… but it didn’t budge. He tried the next door. Nothing. After what appeared to be the twentieth door Riven contemplated giving up. Was this someone’s dream already? No, it couldn’t be. If it was he would have seen them already because that’s how it always was. But then again, this was the first time he got to pick, or at least he thought so.
A sigh escaped his lips when suddenly he heard a click echo through the hallway. A door had opened. Now, he just needed to find the right one. Fortunately, it was easy enough as it stood slightly ajar. The scent of flowers and too ripe fruit, as if someone had left a basket of apples outside on a hot summer day for too long, reached his nose, forcing him to scrunch it ever so softly. He pushed the door open, stepping into the dream. The familiar sensation of falling rippled through him before the darkness parted around him and he could see his surroundings - and a girl.
Quietly, Riven merged with the shadows as best as he could to keep himself out of her sight. Whoever it was, most likely another legionnaire, wouldn’t like being watched in their own mind. Ever since his last encounter with the daughter of Trivia who actually saw him wandering her dream he doubted his abilities to stay invisible. For the briefest of moments, he thought he saw his hand flicker like a broken neon sign. In and out of invisibility.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Riven made a mental note that being in the air, head pointing down at the ground with nothing but magic holding him up, was something he should and wanted to avoid in the future. Perhaps angering a child of Trivia should be added as well but he didn’t even know what he did that made her angry, besides the dream thing. It wasn’t as if he had a choice or any power over his abilities. He blinked at her when she told him that she had been warding her dreams. "Maybe your wards failed this time. That’s not on me, sorry." He didn’t mean to sound rude or snappy but as the blood kept rushing to his head his patience was slowly decreasing.
The brunet mimicked her facial expression, his eyebrows rose after her next words. "Maybe I should just cancel my subscription then. I don’t get to choose which one-star-rated horror movie I’m forced to watch each night!" he grunted, frustration growing the longer he was kept hanging in the air. He would have tossed his hands up if he could but all they did were to hang limp beside his head. The ground wasn’t even near enough to touch it.
Blue eyes looked at the grass below him before he glanced back at the daughter of Trivia. When she finally gave in to his demands to be let down, Riven let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thank you. Don’t worry. I’m not stupid," he said, his lips pressed together as he anticipated having his feet planted on the fields again. The moment he touched the ground he rested for a moment, hand placed against his chest in relief. After pushing himself up to stand, albeit his legs feeling a little like pudding and his head throbbing as the blood rushed back down into the rest of his body, he moved his gaze to look at Aelin.
Ignoring the lightheadedness that appeared, Riven listened as she spoke, crossing his arms over his chest. "I honestly have no idea why I was in your dream today. I swear. Maybe you subconsciously weakened your wards because of the nightmare," he suggested with a light, one-shouldered shrug. "People usually can’t see me. So guess how surprised I am to find out that you did see me." Riven rolled his neck, slowly feeling better now that he was standing properly on the field again. He shifted his weight uneasily as they talked, raising his eyebrows when she asked him about his gifts as if she didn’t know already.
"Well, as you already know I can enter the dreams and nightmares of others. However," he said, holding up his hand in a defensive stance. "I have absolutely no control over whose dream I get thrown into. It was the first time it was you but I usually don’t bother remembering everything or everyone. People go through several dreams a night. It’s just too much content to remember." The brunet dropped his arms to his side, glancing around the fields of Mars. She asked him about his gifts and while he usually preferred to keep information about himself private he didn’t necessarily want to upset her again. Who knew what else she would do to him other than playing demigod pinata with him.
Clearing his throat he continued his explanation, although he wasn’t sure if it made any sense. He still had to figure out a lot about his powers himself. "As a side note, I don’t like nightmares either. I can manipulate a person’s dream but only to what they know. I mean if you want to give it another try I can try to manipulate yours? Make the nightmare shift to something more pleasant." He looked at her expectantly, wondering how she would answer. Probably with a no and a flick of her hand to send him into a tree or something.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Riven felt his blood rush to his head. It had barely been a minute and he already felt a little lightheaded. Swallowing hard he kept his gaze trained on the daughter of Trivia just in case she might think about dropping him. At least he could, hopefully, spot it in her features if she did. He waited for her answer, lifting… or dropping… his eyebrows, scratching his nose. He couldn’t help the scoff that escaped him when she mentioned seeing him in her dream. “Duh, I’m the child of Somnia. God of dreams? Makes sense right? You know that!” he said, rolling his eyes at her as if what she just said was the stupidest he had ever heard.
But then it hit him. “Wait a minute,” he let out, gasping softly. Riven pointed a finger at her, still dangling in the air like a pinata. “You saw me?” he asked, a silhouette of confusion masking his face. Strange. She wasn’t supposed to see him. He didn’t show himself or make himself shown, preferring to just keep in the dark, hidden from the dreamers. It was kind of awkward to slip into random heads, seeing such intimate information in their minds. He could see someone’s hope, fear, their desires, and many more things… some of them he didn’t really want to have seen. He shuddered at the memories, wishing he could delete them out of his brain.
Curious eyes looked at her, wondering, thinking… “I don’t have any clue how the selection works. We sleep in the same room. Might be that. Maybe… maybe because you’re a child of Trivia it attracted me more? I have no idea, really. Maybe it was because your nightmare was so intense? But that wasn't my doing. I just watched.” Riven tried to explain, but he doubted she would accept any kind of explanation from him any time soon. He’d probably end up as pinata for the first cohort after all.
Letting out a sigh, he shifted a little in the air, bending up to touch his feet as if he was bound – but he wasn’t. He was held up by nothing but magic. “If you let me down we can talk about this. Because I feel like I’m about to pass out if I keep hanging in the air any longer.”
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Riven woke up early, feeling a little uneasy after leaving the dream he was more or less stuck inside. He wasn't entirely sure what he was watching but to mortals, it could surely be compared to a horror movie. He shuddered softly as he sat up in his bunk before swinging his legs over and standing up. He changed into the purple camp shirt and a pair of black joggers. His hair was a curly mess but he couldn’t bother. Doing nothing more than running a hand through it, perhaps turning it into an even bigger mess, he was done getting ready for the day. Signs of a restless night were evident as the dark circles under his sapphire eyes suggested.
His training schedule was still filled with lessons with barely any spare time. There were just a few adjustments to involve the Greeks in their training. Riven’s day started with combat training, however, since the classes expanded they were divided into groups. One to train at the Ludus Magnus and the other at the Fields of Mars as long as there were no war games going on. He was in the latter group and slowly trotted over to the green fields.
Being earlier than the rest he used the time to start stretching. His eyes dreamily gazed at the grass he was standing on and he contemplated laying down and taking a nap right there. It looked soft and very inviting if it weren't for the dampness of the early morning, dew drops glittering in the sun.
But before he could finish the thought he was suddenly lifted off the ground. His eyes widened in surprise and terror, head whipping around to see what or who was causing it. Did he fall asleep? No. A wave of nausea washed over him after he was flipped around, hanging upside down in the air with nothing but magic holding him up and keeping him from falling and perhaps breaking his neck.
Blue eyes adjusted to the world upside down and caught a glimpse of brown hair. He let out a confused sound the mix of a laugh and a yelp. “If you tell me why I should beg for mercy I might. But right now I’m not quite sure what I did to deserve hanging in the air like said pinata.”
Riven is a secretive and mysterious person. It proves difficult to understand him or figure him out. He doesn't talk much about himself but likes to listen to others and is always interested in learning more about a person. He can be an overly curious person at times. He is a fearless and brave guy, although he is really careful and cautious. This boy doesn't just jump into a battle or fight, he does think before he does something. He thinks about the consequences that could happen especially if it involves himself or his loved ones.[break][break]
He dislikes nightmares. Riven prefers good and happy dreams over them anytime. He likes others to dream about something good, especially if they have a tough life. You could say he is a kind and friendly person. He likes communicating or just being with people most of the time at least. He might just be an ambivert. Their lives, stories, and creativity give him the muse to play with their dreams.
[break][break]He is pretty outgoing, doesn't mind starting conversations if he is bored or just out of fun. If you get to know him, he is a warm person. He worries a lot about his loved ones although he never shows it. If someone he likes thinks about doing or actually does stupid things he becomes very serious, telling them to stop or even forcing them to stop. He doesn't like adventures, anything spontaneous, or impulsiveness.[break]

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
5 YEARS AT CAMP, CLAIMED
[break][break]
Riven was born to Somnia, the god of dreams. His greek equivalent is Morpheus. His mother was a nurse working in the ICU unit of a hospital in San Francisco where unfortunately a lot of death awaited her patients. She ran into Morpheus who, feeling merciful, bestowed good dreams upon those who were not fated to wake up. She first thought he was the relative of someone but as he kept visiting the hospital she started doubting it and then one day he visited her in her dreams during a nap at work. The way her son was conceived and given birth to all felt a little like a dream but there he was, a small bundle of joy.[break][break]
Riven knew since he was younger that he couldn't dream. His classmates at school would always boast about the adventures they went on or the scary things they encountered in a nightmare. But he never got to experience it. It had always been him watching someone else dream their dream and most of the time it was his mom or a neighbor. Life was simple, easy, ordinary so far but of course, everything comes to an end someday - especially for a demigod.[break][break]
The two of them were in a car accident which resulted in Riven being hospitalized because of a broken leg for some time. His mother, unfortunately, didn't have as much luck. She was put into a coma suffering from more severe injuries and barely hanging on to life, although it was mostly the machines doing the work at some point. Riven remembered the first time he entered his mother's dream. She didn't seem surprised or shocked... no, she looked rather content and even happy. Usually, when the other person wakes up he does too but since his mother wasn't capable of waking up Riven found himself stuck. His body was asleep but his mind was inside his mother's dream for what felt like years. He was only able to get out with the help of his father who subsequently sent him to the Wolf House where he trained with Lupa. [break][break]
The Wolf House was a real nightmare, something he couldn't manipulate or shape to his needs. He couldn't escape the dreams of others but he also couldn't escape his own reality. He was always so exhausted that the time he spent, and he can't remember how long exactly he trained there, seemed like a blur. The memories felt false. But he found himself at Camp Jupiter eventually where he was placed in the 4th Cohort. He didn't really care about status and ranks. All he wanted was to just sleep in peace... of course, that would never happen. Even people who think they don't dream... dream. They just don't remember. [break]
DREAM MANIPULATION - Riven has the ability to enter someone's dream. He doesn't dream but once he falls asleep he finds himself wandering the realms of sleep, inside a random person's mind. Usually, that person is nearby as he cannot enter someone's dream who is for example outside of Camp Jupiter. Once inside someone's dream, he can watch in an invisible state but also make himself visible if desired by him. He can manipulate dreams to a certain extend, turn a nightmare into a nice dream but only with the thoughts of that specific person. He cannot summon or warp something into for example a city he himself has been to but the dreamer has never seen before. With that said, he can also do the opposite and turn a dream into a nightmare but he never really chooses to. The more he manipulates a dream or even just shows himself to the dreamer the more exhausted and tired he is the next day, just as if he didn't sleep.[break][break]
HYPNOKINESIS - As the son of Somnia, while not quite Somnus, he has the minor ability to induce sleepiness in someone close by or by touching them. However, this effect usually doesn't last long and doesn't always make someone actually fall asleep. It's just that they feel tired all of a sudden and so far he hasn't achieved anything beyond a yawn.[break]
