Introverted. That was a word that could (partially) describe Felix. He is inclined to think- not daydream, a lot with things on his mind. Not that he isn’t friendly- he is. Just that he can be awkward at times. Another word to describe him is creative. Felix likes to draw pictures- especially buildings. Poetry is not easy for him, though he does appreciate it. Not the less, he does have a fun loving side even if he doesn’t always show it openly.
Minneapolis was an unlikely place for Apollo to turn up. Least that was what one would think considering his love of the sun. Maybe he was going through a skiing phase, maybe he was going through an little ice hockey one . Whatever it was, he turned up one day and encountered a woman that he hit it off with nicely. Felix was raised by a close-knit family of grandparents, aunts and uncle as well as a great many cousins.Every season of the year had its own wondrous pleasures that Felix enjoyed. Winter was a wonderland with snow falling outside, whilst it was warm and cozy inside with fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate. Spring was a riot of pretty flowers and the joys of Easter time and Easter eggs. In the summer he got to play in the backyard of his cousins’ place and even go swimming. When the fall came around, he stared in wonder at the colors of the falling leaves. It was in 5th Grade that he started to notice things. In class he found that the words on the whiteboard that his teacher wrote often looked squiggly in nature. Even when he was reading in class, he felt the words on the page of the book he was reading seemed to jump about. Felix was afraid that he wasn’t as smart as the other kids and this caused him to become a little withdrawn around other kids in class. His mother and grandparents (whom they lived with), figured that it was just a phase he was going through- he was almost a teenager after all.
Certainly he was going through changes. Whereas he was once a small kid, he started to grow taller and take on an athletic tone. Sports and being outdoors were certainly two things that helped him take his mind off his problems in school. During the fall he would take part in Cross-Country and Orientation. He loved being out in the outdoors, running about over a track and finding his way around it. Often it was where he did a lot of his thinking about his problems and life. He didn’t mind getting all muddy or cold and wet, when he was running, because there was always something warm like hot chocolate and his favorite warm clothes to put in afterwards.
By the time he started Middle School, he developed an interest in field athletics and wrestling. For some reason he could never understand, he really seemed to like the Javelin event in the athletics. The feel of the javelin in his hand, gave him a tingling sensation all over his body, as if he was excited to be holding it. Seeing the javelin flying through the air was a source of joy.Like many pre-teen boys, Felix was no different in his desire to test himself against his friends. He wasn’t sure if it was because his grandfather (and maybe his dad?) had once wrestled, but Felix seemed to enjoy it and he would imagine (for some reason) what it would have been like to wrestle in the Olympics in Ancient Greece. For that was another thing. Felix began to feel an unexplained interest in Ancient Greece.
Often he would find books in the school or local library on Ancient Greece. Avidly he would read them and learn about it all. In particular he was intrigued by the way that the buildings were designed. One day when he was about twelve years old, he was out running in woods in the park near to where his grandparents lived. Out of nowhere he was hunted and then chased by a monster that sensed what he was or could potentially be. Out of no where he reached down and picked up a fallen tree branch and without realizing it, hurled it like a javelin. With deadly accuracy he never showed before, the branch went right through the monster’s eye socket- killing it stone dead on the very spot.
Luckily for him, the monster wasn’t the only one hunting that day. A group of demigods passing through Minneapolis picked up the monster’s trail and followed it. Finding Felix in a shocked state, it wasn’t hard to see what had happened and what the scared blonde haired kid was. Felix adapted well to Camp Half Blood. It was even more of a summer camp than it appeared. Claimed by his father, he sought out his place in the order of things. In a short time it was apparent that he wasn’t an ordinary Apollo kid. Felix wasn’t as good with a bow as his siblings were, but he was much better at athletics and art than they were. Like many of them he had a knack for healing the same as his siblings. However, he took it a different way. Felix was more of a ‘field medic’, in that he preferred to on the battlefield where he was needed more urgently. Anyone kid thought him soft or cowardly, were proven wrong when he carried casualties to safety during pitched battles.
[VITAKENESIS]: Felix like many of his siblings has the ability to heal injuries in others, as a gift from their father- Apollo. This is not surprizing considering the amounts of sprains, strains and scrapes he has suffered in his sports training.
Weakness: He isn't as skilled/or powerful,in this gift as his siblings. However he is skilled enough to stabilize, if not cure, an injured casualty.
Drawing: One talent he may (or may not) have inherited from Apollo is a talent for drawing. In particular, a knack for architecture. He likes looking at buildings in camp, then drawing them- only in a much grander or ergonomic manner as he imagines it. Some of his drawings are ambitious in nature and sometimes out of proportion, but at least it brings him joy.
Athletics: Felix has a natural talent for the sport- especially the javelin event. Often he can be found training around camp, as it helps to keep him mentally and emotionally centered, as well as helps with his ability to carry casualties off the battle field if need be.
Pankration: Being a Greek demigod, he was exposed to this martial art in Camp Half Blood. An extension of wrestling as a kid, it has come in handy. Often a patient needs to be restrained when they are receiving treatment and Felix is capable of restraining them. Moreover, it comes in use when he has to protect a casualty on the battlefield.
Javelin: This weapon is his primary weapon of choice. Certainly he has been trained in the use of the bow and sword. However it is the javelin that he is particularly skilled with. On the battlefield, he carries a brace of them to act as a skirmisher, before adopting the role of combat field medic.
