Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

Every morning (after he had done his ablutions) Nathan made sure he had himself a healthy breakfast because it was usual for him to have a heavy day that required him to burn off a lot of energy. It could be a route march in full kit, field fortification exercise or training in the marching ring. It could be anything. All he knew was that it would require a lot of energy to do it.
Sure he was probably in the best shape of anyone in his cohort, but that was no excuse for him not to have the energy to do what was required. Luckily for him, that would not be a problem. Since he was a little kid back in Colorado, his grandmother ensured that everyone had a nutritious breakfast before they started the day- whether it was Nathan before he went to school or his grandfather before he went to work in the vineyard. Small wonder that Nathan was as big as he was.
Making his way to the mess hall, Nathan fell in line with the rest of his cohort and waited his turn to enter the building. Centurions- or at least his Centurion liked to do snap inspections of his cohort, just to keep them on their toes. Luckily, their Centurion hadn’t heard about the midnight party in Third Cohort’s barracks the night before. If they had, Nathan knew they would be catching it this morning…
The aroma of what was on offer in the mess wafted out the door and assailed the noses of the Roman kids waiting to enter. Already he could smell waffles, bacons and fresh croissants on the air. That made him smile- always good to have something to look forward too.
Once inside Nathan followed the line through the mess servery and selected what he wanted. Oatmeal with fresh sliced apricots, glass of apple juice, a slice of wholemeal toast with honey and a banana were on his tray by the time he waded his way through the crowd to a spare table. Taking a seat he found himself with a number of kids from other cohorts. Most were talking as they eat, but it was only when he was almost finished his oatmeal that Nathan actually spoke.
“Hey- Russo” said a kid called Paige, “Your Centurion still busting your gluteus maximus over that grapevine you were growing?”. Paige was a daughter of Ceres who knew about the illicit grapevine that Nathan had been growing behind the Third Cohort barracks. She had helped him tend to it from the small sapling to the burgeoning grapevine it had promise to be in the months before it was found. It was a partnership in crime between the two, that Nathan had enjoyed being part of. “Nah- over and done with” he replied taking a sip of his juice, “But they are still keeping a close eye on me”. Paige nodded, “Pity about what happened…was coming along pretty good. Would have been nice to see how it would have turned out”. Nathan had to agree with that. It would have been nice to see what it could have been when it was at full maturity. “Yeah…” he sighed, “Soil composition was good, watered every day, had a good place where it got just the right amount of daily sun- yet still had the right amount of shelter. And it was taking to being trained pretty nicely” he lamented.
It was a case of maybe and what could have happened….

[attr=class, punkiduoinneropacity]Verlyn had been plagued with nightmares all night. It wasn't the demigod kind of nightmares, but it was still very rough on him. Countlessly watching his father slip away and leaving him alone to be attacked by empousa cheerleaders from his old school. But at least he slept at all, so he wasn't too tired.
Verlyn strutted on to the mess hall for breakfast. He could smell the aroma of lots of delicious food- pancakes, waffles, eggs, spam, rice, and lots more. Verlyn could go for a nice bowl of vanilla yogurt and granola, and that would be enough for the whole day.
As he went to take his seat, he heard some chitchat about grapevines from on of the third cohort's tables. Hmm. He stopped for a minute to listen in. Trouble with growing a grapevine in the third cohort barracks? All the conditions the vine was put in was mostly correct, except one thing... Without even thinking, he swooped over and gave them unintended advice.
"Most the things you did were correct," Verlyn yammered, "but before planting a grapevine you have to let the roots soak into water for up to three hours. And then when digging or making a hole for the roots, it must be 12 inches deep and wide. Did you fulfill those conditions?"
When Verlyn realized what he had said, he slapped his hand over his mouth. "I am so sorry!" he quietly yelped. "I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation, a-and I'm sure you take care of your plants just fine, um... I really should go..." His face red with embarrassment, he began to waddle away, petrified with terror.
“Well…no use crying over spilt milk, like a ‘Sad Panda’ now” Paige said with a shrug. Not her problem- she had her vegetable patch which Centurions seemed to encourage. Just Nathan’s bad luck he got caught. “Personally, I think you- “ she said, before out of no where someone she would have called a ‘random’ kid, upped and jumped into the conversation. How rude!
Nathan’s reaction to this intrusion was different. Who was this fine fellow who seemed to speak with such authority on the subject of viticulture, a subject dear to his heart? Like Paige, he was stunned by what he said. “Uh…no I didn’t. Centurion ripped it up. Pity though- looked like it was going pretty well” he said, not realizing what he had just said. His answer was automatic and triggered by Verlyn’s knowledge on the matter.
Just as quickly stunned by Veryn’s arrival, he was equally stunned by his prompt shutting up and scuttling away. Nathan blinked at the abrupt upload of information he had just had crammed into his head. This kid really seemed to know his stuff…a little squirrelly though, he had to say.
“Well…he was a random unit” Paige sniggered as Verlyn beat a retreat from the scene. Nathan gave her a disapproving look as if to say “You jerk…”. Paige saw that look and snorted. “Sorry- just saying is all” before diving back into her breakfast. Nathan ate the rest of his breakfast in silence as he went over what the kid had said to him. Yes- it was sound information. Least it would have been, if he still had that grapevine. Now he had a new one secreted in the Garden of Bacchus. What the kid said made sense. If he planned to grow another grapevine- which he did, just that he hadn’t told anyone yet; then he would certainly do as the kid suggested.
Finishing off his breakfast at last, save for the banana, Nathan picked up his tray with the bowl and glass on it and headed back to the servery to drop it off for cleaning. On the way he thought about what the kid said. Making his way back, he headed over to where the Fifth Cohort kids sat and went right up to where Verlyn sat. “Hey man” he said to the smaller son of Pomona, “Can I talk to you a minute?” he asked as he began to peel the banana.

[attr=class, punkiduoinneropacity]He was terrified all night. He was terrified walking away today. And now Verlyn was mortified when he had looked back at the conversation and realized he hadn't been fully paying attention to what they were saying. Heck, it was really rude to even barge in at all! He hadn't heard the part about a centurion ripping up the grapevine. How stupid of him. He couldn't believe himself. As his self doubts kept piling up onto him, the yogurt he was eating began to taste more bland with every bite. Verlyn could barely believe himself.
The bowl he had eaten from clattered on the table, empty. He leaned his head backwards slightly and groaned, only to see the guy from the two walking up to him. Verlyn tensed up. Maybe it wasn't towards him. No way would he be talking to him, after how he rudely-
Nope, Nathan was coming towards him, and Verlyn immediately sat up. What was he gonna do? What was he gonna say? His brain swirled in thought when it all his questions got answered in the one question Nathan asked him.
Talk to him... for a minute? What would he say? Was he offended? Did he come to scold him? But, of course, Verlyn didn't want to be rude. He turned around with a weak smile and said, "U-um, sure! What about...?"
It was more of a disappoint that all his hard work was for naught, as opposed to hurt when the Centurion tore up his grapevine. For his part, it was an inconvenience for the Centurion to do that, since they had much better things to do that day. However, as it was- the law was the law and it behoved them to carry their mandated task. Nathan had worked hard growing said grapevine from a single seed, nursed and nurture from seed to sapling, to small vine burgeoning into full growth. Therefore, he was unhappy when he had to stand by and see what was done.
Small wonder that seeing Nathan approaching him, Verlyn mind was spun into a sea of questions and concerns. Compared to Verlyn he was much bigger. Taller too. Some could speculate that he could easily snap Verlyn in two. But of course he wouldn’t. That was not who Nathan was as a person. But Verlyn did not know that…
“Pretty much what you said before” the son of Bacchus replied. “It sounds like you know a lot about growing stuff. Like…a lot more than I do”. He nodded at the space next to Veryn at the table. “Okay if I sit down?” he asked, nodding to the spot as he took a bite from his banana.
