[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
Corbin is a prime example of a person displaying a rather dark and vindictive personality. Once a small child who needed protection and was used to being protected by the only person he ever really considered family was turned into a monster. Ruthless is a trait Corbin adapted after the loss of his brother. He's become as merciless as his foes who had shown not one ounce of mercy to him when he needed it the most. Corbin feels no pity for the majority of the human and demigod population and most of the time wishes everyone to suffer. [break][break]
He harbors a strong resentment against demigods, but specifically children of Neptune, Mars, and Jupiter. One would surely wonder how he could resent and hate the children of Neptune if his brother was one. Well, that makes it even worse as they continuously remind him of his brother who is no longer part of (t)his world. This fatal triangle plays a huge part in why he's become such a vengeful person. [break][break]
One thing Corbin fears is abandonment. He was abandoned twice already and would do everything in his power to prevent it from happening again, even if it means abandoning someone first before they get a chance to do it to him. Cruel is his second middle name. This man doesn't shy away from doing whatever he needs to do, like purposely inflicting and causing pain to others and making them suffer in his stead. He's the hunter and everyone else is simply prey.[break][break]
From an early age, Corbin has perfected his lying abilities. He can easily twist a truth. Lies flow from his tongue like an ordinary conversation. It doesn't make him feel guilty and throughout the years he has become a habitual liar. A lot of demigods tend to show the trait of being rather selfless beings but Corbin is the opposite. He's selfish. In the past, it used to be his brother who had been his number one on the list of people to take care of and care about. Now it's him in the number one spot. With no one around to stop him, Corbin has become quite a greedy person in addition to being selfish. His desire to obtain a ridiculous amount of wealth and power to further push his revenge plans has no end.[break][break]
If he learned one thing from his gods' awful stay at Circe's Island is to withstand and overcome a difficult situation proving to be reasonably resilient. Corbin is a very practical and pragmatic person. His goals and plans all gravitate towards being more realistic rather than 'could be' and 'possibly'. He has a general dislike for silly and half-baked ideas. With that said, the son of Trivia always has a plan B prepared. He can be a little stubborn if you tell him his plan failed because his favorite phrase is: everything always goes according to plan.[break][break]

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
joshua, adopted brother; son of neptune ( deceased / 20 years old )[break][break]
at camp for 9 years; claimed[break][break]
It all began in an orphanage where Corbin’s first memory takes place. He was perhaps about 7. A little boy, innocent, pure, running after his older brother Joshua. They weren’t real brothers, not by birth and blood at least, but he had always considered him his family - his only family. The two of them were inseparable. Corbin always looked up at Josh, he was his idol, his teacher, the one who would tell him mystical stories before bedtime. Josh was his everything. [break][break]
The two of them grew up together at an orphanage. Josh had numerous couples being interested in adopting him but he had done everything he could to avoid it because he didn’t want to leave Corbin alone. But no one ever wanted to adopt the two of them together as a pair. That was their life.[break][break]
Corbin always had a difficult time making friends or even just acquaintances at both the orphanage and school. He tended to be more of a loner, although he also never really cared much about it. His brother was the sun and he was just a tiny star circling around it. At some point he noticed Josh coming back home with bruises. First, he had thought he might have tripped or gotten injured during P.E. class but soon the number of cuts and bruises multiplied. Not wanting to worry anyone Josh always brushed it off as rough play with the other boys. [break][break]
Meanwhile, Corbin was starting to see things. Shadows creeping around him, women with snakes instead of eyeballs, men in suits with claws instead of hands. He had always known that something was off about him. He wasn’t like other kids but he never mentioned it to anyone… not even to Josh. If they had one thing in common it was their thickheadedness and stubbornness. Neither wanted to worry the other. [break][break]
All was well until the two boys snuck out at night to buy snacks at a convenience store around the corner. It was there when a Minotaur attacked them outside of the store. Josh, who apparently was used to such strange encounters, had told Corbin to run and hide while he attempted to fight the monster off. Corbin backed away, hid nearby but was still close enough to watch the one-sided battle unfold. Not one of them was trained to fight or do anything the like. [break][break]
However, Josh somehow managed to make a fire hydrant explode, water covering the monster’s sight for a moment. It was long enough of a moment for the two to run and escape. The next morning Josh showed Corbin a letter he received, calling him to the Wolf House. Corbin did not receive a letter but decided to follow his brother anyway. Because anywhere Josh went Corbin would follow.[break][break]
Despite his surprising appearance at the Wolf House Corbin was taken in and accepted alongside his brother. It was his decision even though he could have chosen to live a quiet life as long as he could. Of course, Corbin would never. They were told that Josh, being the son of Neptune, didn’t have much of a choice unlike the other. Once a monster had caught his scent they would follow and not stop until he was dead. [break][break]
Corbin was feeling more than just a little… lost. He was happy when it was announced that he too, was a demigod but his parentage was unclear during his time at the Wolf House. But it didn’t matter much. He trained, or tried to, having a much harder time than his brother of course. There was a day or two when he regretted his decision but Josh kept motivating him, pushing him and helped him as much as he could. And while he didn’t make it out of Lupa’s training at the same time as Joshua, he still followed to Camp Jupiter sometime later.[break][break]
Son of Trivia. Deep inside the dark-haired boy had wished to be related to his brother… to be a son of Neptune as well. He was certain it wouldn’t be the case as he wasn’t claimed at the Wolf House but yet, a small spark of hope had burned inside him until he made it to camp, thinking that maybe he wasn’t claimed already because he was too young. Maybe because he wasn’t supposed to be there just yet. But all hope was vanquished upon his arrival at the Roman camp for demigods when Trivia, the goddess of witchcraft, had claimed her son. [break][break]
Fourth Cohort. Corbin was disappointed. First, the last chance of being related to Joshua had been extinguished, and then he wasn’t even worth enough to be placed in the same cohort as him. He was still happy that the two of them were together, able to make this journey as a pair just like always, but they drifted apart just slightly during the first couple of years at camp. Corbin was stuck with his cohort, Joshua was in his. They made different friends, different enemies had different schedules, and barely saw each other anymore. [break][break]
Corbin trained, working on his own abilities and skills, to show off to Josh. The two of them would train together whenever they got a chance to spend time with each other and a lot of times he found himself mimicking Josh when they played at the lake or the Little Tiber. The fun part of magic was that almost everything was possible and that's what he believed. Magic was powerful, grant. He wanted to believe that he could do everything with it.[break][break]
Josh had been on multiple quests. He had always been the more popular guy at camp, his heritage and powers having boosted it immensely. Despite that though, he never forgot to look after Corbin. When Corbin was 16 and Josh 20, the two of them were sent on a quest. Josh was the chosen leader, picking one of his half-siblings to accompany him as well as a child of Jupiter and Mars. Corbin hadn’t been on a quest yet and he was begging his brother to pick him as well. Of course, Josh thought it would be too dangerous and only reluctantly decided to choose Corbin as a companion. [break][break]
Corbin was by no means weak. No, he had trained every single day, harder than most legionnaires as he was also younger than most when they arrived. It didn’t take him long to learn how powerful a child of Trivia could be if only trained properly. When he wasn’t with Josh, he hung out with his half-siblings, other children of Trivia. Most weren’t really popular since the Romans disliked the goddess of witchcraft and all that she was. [break][break]
One thing he learned while the group was on a ship, making their way towards the Sea of Monsters: he didn’t like the sea. He was getting seasick most of the time, spending the days curled over the ship’s edge. The others, except for Josh, were making fun of him but he ignored it, for his brother’s sake. It wasn’t his place to start fights with his brother’s crew. He was there because he wanted to be there, he had begged to be part of this. He should have known it would be like this. [break][break]
Out of the two entrances of the Sea of Monsters, the demigods picked the safer option, if that was even possible after Corbin suggested the first entrance. It took a while to assure them it would be a better choice and in the end, they gave in. The clashing rocks sounded much better than entering through the strait between Scylla and Charybdis. That’s what they thought. It would soon turn out that it wasn’t true. Jason and the Argonauts had only survived the clashing rocks because they were aided by a goddess. Josh and his quest mates weren’t. There was no god who helped them out, there was no one. [break][break]
They realized their mistake too late and the ship was already ping pong-ed around prior to entering the clashing rocks. The wood was torn apart with each slap against the rock walls and all that was left were scraps of the ship by the end of the tunnel. Somehow, the group had managed to survive, thanks to Josh and Corbin and with the help of a smaller lifeboat. Sure enough, a fight ensued shortly after they made their escape. Needless to say that a full-on brawl in the small boat wasn't the smartest idea.[break][break]
It was Corbin against the others. Joshua's real half-sibling, the child of Neptune attempted to force Corbin off of the boat unsuccessfully. It only angered Corbin more. What he wasn't aware of was that it was just a ploy and his opponent had drawn a dagger. Before he realized what was happening Josh had jumped in to break it up only to get stabbed instead of Corbin's place. All of their ambrosia and nectar rations had been lost after their first ship sank and thus, there was no way of saving him.[break][break]
Knowing exactly that, their quest mates tossed them off-board, Corbin willingly following the dying Joshua into the water as he didn't want to leave him alone. The two of them were abandoned by the others and Corbin made sure to burn that moment into his memories forever. He tried to keep them both afloat but Joshua, sputtering his last words which were an unnecessary mix of apologies and goodbyes, soon had to give in to his injuries, leaving Corbin in the water with his lifeless body.[break][break]
Corbin stayed with Josh for so long he didn't know how much time had passed. His fingers were wrinkled, his clothes soaked, he was freezing and shaking but he didn't care. His brother was gone, the only person who ever cared about him was now no longer there for him. The son of Trivia attempted to take the lifeless body back to camp or just somewhere where he could give him a proper burial but in the end, he had to give it up, giving it over to the Sea of Monsters, letting it drift away - lost forever, like Corbin himself would be. [break][break]
It was that day that he learned that magic, contrary to his belief, could not fix everything.[break][break]
After the big fight and the loss of Josh, Corbin was left stranded ashore on the island that was inhabited by Circe, owner of C.C.'s Spa and Resort. He had walked into the Spa, hoping to receive some sort of help to get out of the Sea of Monsters, but instead, he found himself being taken prisoner by the goddess herself. No matter how hard he tried to convince her not to, to let him be, to just throw him out into the sea, that he was a son of Trivia, she didn't reconsider for even a second.[break][break]
He was forcefully guided towards a cell where he was tossed into, all the attendants looking rather grimly at him. However, it didn't stop there. He knew of the myth... about men being turned into all sorts of animals by the goddess. Shortly after his arrival, he was given food and a drink. When he drank it, his thirst being so strong it covered all suspicions he should have, he started feeling weird... ill. First, he thought he was hallucinating. Surely, his drink was drugged. But when he realized his body started shifting and shrinking, fur growing on his skin, he knew it was too late: he turned into a guinea pig. [break][break]
However, he didn't remain a guinea pig all the time but he was used as one. Every now and then the drink would be different. One day it was a sparkling, green liquid. Another day it would be a dark purple, thicker liquid. Some days he was allowed to remain human while most days he was a furry, little, guinea pig. The attendant who brought him those drinks was a girl, around his age perhaps. He used it to his advantage, followed the patterns, the changes, everything.[break][break]
One day, when he was back in his human form, Corbin stopped Elitsa from leaving. He spun his net of lies and ideas to lure her into helping him. In the beginning, she wouldn't listen to him, not at all. He was slightly offended by being ignored and then turned into a guinea pig again. Although, he took that advantage to bite her and everyone else who touched him. Over and over he tried to convince her to free him, that he could help her get off the island. And finally, one day she listened to him and agreed.[break][break]
After making their plan, Corbin had told Elitsa that she needed to get the anti-guinea pig potion from Circe to turn him back into his normal self. Despite her being an attendant who worked for the goddess it still wasn't easy to get her hands on it, but like a shadow of a spider, she snuck into the goddess's potion storage and retrieved the potion they needed. Without being heard or seen she returned to the cells where Corbin drank it, the transformation more painful than the first.[break][break]
Thanks to Eli's ability to listen to all rumors and talk while she was working at the spa the two of them found out about a supply ship traveling to and from the island on a regular basis. The day they escaped was supposed to be one of those days. They snuck onto the ship and hid in one of the smaller storage spaces. Corbin being Corbin he made sure to manipulate some of those supplies Circe was supposed to receive before he made his final way onto the ship.[break][break]
Without being spotted, or if they were no one had said anything, they made their escape from the island. The trip out of the Sea of Monsters hadn't been as brutal and nerve-wracking as the one Corbin made with the quest members. Soon enough they were back into the real world and docked on land.[break][break]
When Corbin stepped off of the ship the world spun around him. The loss of his brother suddenly rushed back to him, shooting him like a bullet in the heart. But as he had company with him he couldn't show it so he tried his best to keep it all in... at least until he was alone. He had told Elitse about Camp Jupiter and knowing that she was a demigod as well he planned to take her back with him.[break][break]
Unfortunately, Elitse couldn't simply walk into camp with him as he expected. She had to go through the Wolf House first, like all other Roman demigods. So the two separated but only for a few months. Corbin was aware of how skilled she must have been but he didn't expect her to return so early. However, he was glad his investment was back with him. At first he wasn't sure what use she would be for him, why he should risk his life and everything else to escape with her, to take her with him from the island but her working with the goddess and having met, seen, and heard all sorts of mortals, monsters, demigods and gods themselves, she was a great source of information.[break][break]
Corbin hadn't made a lot of friends but after his return from the failed quest, a new face appeared at camp - a son of Fortuna who was placed in the same cohort as him. Like Elitse, he started making plans, started reasoning why he should befriend or accompany that demigod. The answer was simple: his ability was to bring luck. And luck was something one could never have enough of.[break][break]
The three went on another quest together, one that did not fail and no one died. Instead, they brought back a friend - Lima, a goat. Jez had insisted on keeping the goat ever since it aided him as an emotional support goat on their chaotic ride from the Fates because a driver without eyes makes people nervous. So, they ended up bringing the goat with them to camp where it was since a resident of the fourth cohort.[break][break]
Ever since his return to Camp Jupiter, Corbin has been filled with rage and the desire to take revenge. Not only on the children of Neptune for betraying both him and his brother but also on everyone else for just existing... for being demigods... for not helping when they could have helped.[break][break]

[break][break]After the big fight and the loss of Josh, Corbin was left stranded ashore on the island that was inhabited by Circe, owner of C.C.'s Spa and Resort.
( investment )
[break][break]One day, when he was back in his human form, Corbin stopped Elitsa from leaving.
( escape )
[break][break]Thanks to Eli's ability to listen to all rumors and talk while she was working at the spa the two of them found out about a supply ship traveling to and from the island on a regular basis.
( sharpshooter & the goat )
[break][break]Corbin hadn't made a lot of friends but after his return from the failed quest, a new face appeared at camp - a son of Fortuna who was placed in the same cohort as him.
( revenge )
[break][break]Ever since his return to Camp Jupiter, Corbin has been filled with rage and the desire to take revenge. Not only on the children of Neptune for betraying both him and his brother but also on everyone else for just existing... for being demigods... for not helping when they could have helped.[break][break]

[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
[ MYSTIOKINESIS ] - Corbin's main power as a son of Trivia is Mystiokinesis. He can use a wide variety of magic, elemental, spells, curses, etc. Years at camp and training, fueled by pure anger and the need for revenge, have made him quite an exceptional magic wielder. While he isn't the biggest fan of elemental magic, Corbin likes to use curses, telekinesis, and hex bags in the form of coins. Beware of random coins near you.[break][break]
Magic lives off all sorts of energy. Corbin usually uses his own energy to fuel his powers and once he's been drained he cannot use any more magic until he recharges. The more magic he uses or the stronger the spell is the quicker he tires, feeling dizzy and nauseous. The spells he can use are limited to Latin ones. Since the magic is also part of him he is forced to use it, otherwise, it will build up inside of him like a ticking time bomb.
[break][break]
[ LIMITED MIST MANIPULATION ] - He possesses limited mist manipulation. Like other trained demigods he can manipulate the mist in his favor to prevent mortals from seeing things they shouldn't see by influencing their minds and altering their memories and perception. He is not as powerful as perhaps his other siblings and therefore cannot use the mist to manipulate other demigods or monsters.[break][break]
[ SKILLED THIEF ] - Being the legacy of Mercury, Corbin has exceptional skills when it comes to thievery and pick-pocketing. Of course, using magic to aid him with these tasks makes him an even better thief.[break][break]
