[ SENSITIVE ] - Once, a young boy, full of love and passion. Rhen had always been someone who experienced emotions on a higher level, stronger, fiercer. He easily got overwhelmed, would lose balance, got hurt easily. He used to have a big heart, one that he used to think with instead of his brain. He was the type to follow his feelings, follow his intuition. He could feel other people's hurt as much as he could feel his own. It was easy for him to get on their emotional level.[break][break]
[ INTELLIGENT ] - Rhen isn't stupid by any means. He's just a great actor and uses the excuse of his heritage (with Venus being his mother) to get out of the unnecessary drama. He used to have an easy time adapting to his surroundings but has long lost that ability. He appreciates the arts, especially theater plays and reading. Oh, books. While he may be more the quiet but deadly type, he can be snappy from time to time as well. His mood often depends on... everything happening around him on that day. He's just very unhappy.[break][break]
[ LOYAL ] - Loyalty is one of the most important traits he looks for in a friend, a lover, family. Thus far, none have been utterly loyal to him thanks to his powers. He himself is fiercely loyal and he has your back once you make it past the broody moody mess.[break][break]

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]BIOGRAPHY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]
at camp for 5 years; claimed[break][break]
Rhen, born into a family wearing the name of Montague, had his fate decided the moment Venus met his father - a theater actor. He was famous for portraying various roles in a variety of Shakespeare plays, however, his fame was supported by Montague being his real surname. It earned him quite the spotlight and numerous agents swatting at him with grabby hands. Venus was drawn in one night where he would portray Romeo, and she would be his Juliet, taking on the role for just the last act. Their play was continued in private chambers. She disappeared after that night, and thus Romeo had lost his Juliet.[break][break]
Nine months later a baby was brought into the family and without questioning it, everyone accepted him. His father lived in the same building as his own parents, a sister and an aunt. There never was a woman whom Rhen could have considered a mom. His dad was known for his numerous flings, never starting anything serious, no matter how many times little Rhen had asked for a mother. He was loved and adored but everyone in the family, certainly not lacking affection and it never seemed odd to him - not until he was older.[break][break]
Making friends at school was easy. Getting together with the popular girls was equally easy. They always blamed it on his good looks, which of course, were quite admirable. Rhen was handsome, the spitting image of a Greek statue. A fair complexion, clear skin, a full head of chestnut copper curls, hazel eyes where the green dominated, and a smile that made girls and boys alike swoon. [break][break]
At the age of 14 tragedy would find its way into his life. Rhen was brought to the Wolf House where he was forced to train, forced to survive, forced to be a demigod. He wanted to step into his father’s footsteps, have the light shine upon him on stage, receive flower bouquets and applause. But no, instead he was supposed to get dirty, fight, and live with a bunch of other sweaty and stinky teens. He definitely could have hoped for a better life than the one he was given. Rhen found out about his powers training with another child of Venus with the same ability. They explained to him how it worked and when they tested it on a random demigod who was in the same room as them he found out that his worked... without him wanting it to work. Suddenly his world fell apart and he realized that the love he had received all these years may have not been real. While at camp he started observing people around him, how they acted when he was nearby and how they acted when he wasn't. At some point, he got used to it and even embraced it a little. It never did him much harm, other than knowing it was all fake, that most of them didn't really like him and were forced to pretend.[break][break]
A year later a daughter of Vulcan, Rosie, had shamelessly thrown herself into his life after setting one of his books on fire - purely by accident of course. He had fallen head over heels for her. Literally, as he was scrambling to put the fire out and save the book, but not before he ran right into her and tripped. It was love at first sight. She was suddenly a part of his life, propelled herself right into his heart. For a year they spent almost every single day together. He didn't mind the stereotypes they fulfilled with him being a son of Venus and her being a daughter of Vulcan. It was probably bound to happen. On gloomy days he would entertain her with silly reenactments of Shakespeare. When she was sick he would read to her from his favorite books. It was a silly, young, innocent but precious love. They were young anyways. Nothing mattered but having the chance to spend time together. Who would have thought someone that young could love so fiercely?
[break][break]And then she received a prophecy from the Augur and was sent on a quest, picking Rhen as her only companion. The two left the safety of camp. Everything seemed to be just fine.[break][break]
Until the Gorgons arrived.[break][break]
Euryale and Stheno had found them as they made their way to the last location. They were so close but yet so far. The Gorgons attacked and they fought back. Rhen was rendered unconscious before he could even lift his sword. Rosie managed to destroy one but was swiftly taken out by the second one. Fortunately, he managed to regain consciousness before Stheno could strike a second time, clipping her right side with his weapon. Another strike and she was gone, her blood was all that's left of her, clinging to the blade. Rhen immediately turned his focus back to Rosie who wasn't moving yet. Rolling her onto her back he saw the blood on her shirt... too much of it. [break][break]
She was hurt so badly it made him tremble. And with those trembling hands he searched their bags for ambrosia. He found it but it slipped out of his hands and down the hill they were on top of. Her only chance of surviving was gone - and it was his fault. Catching a glimpse of his sword in the grass he remembered the myth about Gorgon blood. The left side was supposed to cure everything and the right was deadly like poison... or was it the other way around? Right... a cure, left... poison... or a cure? He couldn't remember! His mind was racing, desperately looking for the right answer but it wouldn't appear. He remembered cutting the Gorgon's left side... it had to be the cure. He carefully gathered the remaining blood and gave it to Rosie, frantic eyes staring at the wound, hoping it would close... The left side blood must be the cure![break][break]
It wasn't.[break][break]
Rhen was left with nothing. They didn't finish the quest. She didn't survive. There would be no honor upon his return. They were young, perhaps too young to handle a quest, too inexperienced, too weak. He wasn't blamed for her death when he made his way back to Camp Jupiter... but that didn't stop him from blaming himself. He let them believe it was the Gorgon that killed her when the truth was: it was him. He had two chances to save her and he failed twice. His oh-so-bright stage was now filled in darkness, the heavy velvet curtains were drawn close, the music in the background stopped playing and the audience was gone. The play had ended.[break][break]

It has always been that way, that he would gather the affections of people around him in his life. He always thought it was their love for him until he arrived at camp and found out that it wasn't. It was all just a lie, a cruel prank caused by his own gift. It's like sticky goo glued to his skin that he cannot seem to get rid of no matter how many baths he takes, leaving him tired from morning to evening. He has some sort of aura that he radiates, having people in very close proximity think they like him. It isn't always in a romantic way. It can be a friendly way, but it depends on the person affected by it. The higher he is in his own spirits the stronger it is. If he keeps himself in a bad mood it automatically weakens. Sometimes he thinks that the love he feels fuels it which could make sense. However, since there is no love left in him, his ability had taken quite a hit. Which... to be honest, he doesn't mind.[break][break]
