It was until the age of 13 when a prank went wrong. Skylar was on a field trip with his schoolmates. His parents had sent him to a boarding school with the rich kids. They owned a lot of nice things his grabby hands just couldn’t resist stealing - or borrowing. Anyway, the class went to Paris for their trip. At night the whole class would sneak out of their hotel but everyone was leaving for different things. While most of them were out and about to get some fine french wine and champagne he and his two best friends sneaked out to visit the Eiffel Tower again. They had already seen it shortly after they arrived but it was too crowded. So they decided to try at night unsure if they would get past security. Lucky for them there seemed to be only one security guard and a dog.[break][break]

Little did he know it wasn’t just a dog. The trip tried sneaking past the guard who was sleeping in his booth and they managed to get to the entrance but as soon as his friend touched the metal construction of the tower sparks started flying and it lit up in its complete glory. Welp. The security guard woke up in an instant and his dog started barking. Skylar couldn’t believe his eyes when the dog seemingly shifted and transformed into a much, much, much bigger beast. He and his friends ran for their lives but Skylar suddenly found himself on the very top of the Eiffel Tower… he honestly didn’t know why or how he ended up there but the bigger question for him at that point was how to get back down.[break][break]

There wasn’t much space for him to move on the tip of the building and as he tried to move as slow as he can he attempted to climb down but as the sudden roar of the creature blasted through the night he lost his grip and plummeted down - well, that’s one way. He had shut his eyes and was awaiting his certain death but the next second he found himself standing on top of the security guard’s booth. He attempted to take a step forward but ended up sitting on the monster’s back. What the Hades was going on with him? After a rodeo session on the manticore, he was thrown off and crashed into his friends. He subconsciously grabbed them in hopes this weird teleporting thing he was doing would get them away from the trouble - and it did. They found themselves on the river banks near their hotel.[break][break]

The next morning the three of them gathered to discuss the events of the night before and figured it must have been some kind of hallucination. The next two days of their trip were normal and nothing happened so it must have been something in the food or their drinks they thought. The trip ended without any further complications and they arrived safely at home.[break][break]

After three days at home, his best friends disappeared.[break][break]

Two months passed before he accidentally found himself speed traveling to the Wolf House.[break][break]

He really sucked at everything Lupa was trying to teach him. He was stuck for almost a year before he was deemed worthy enough of being sent to Camp Jupiter. Skylar didn’t have any control over his speed traveling ability and always found himself transported to random places by accident. A trip to the bathroom? You mean the one in LA right? Plopping down on his bed? Ah, you mean the grass field somewhere in Oregon right? Finding his way to camp was easier said than done. But he became very good at running - away from monsters.[break][break]

Once he finally somehow ended up at camp he found his friends again - who apparently don’t suck as much as he does - and he was placed into the 5th Cohort after finishing his Probatio time.[break]

SPEED TRAVEL - Skylar inherited the ability to speed travel from his dad, however, he has absolutely no control over it just can't get a hold of it properly. This ability usually kicks in during the most random times and it's like his feet drag him somewhere he doesn't want to go. He can't stop it most of the time. It's like being Flash but on drugs. Because it's unexpected most of the time he ends up feeling nauseous and dizzy, throwing up from time to time.[break][break]

Other than that he is a very skilled thief and nothing is safe from his fingers - especially not important praetor documents. Do you need to get rid of your name on the punishment list? It's only 5 denarii. He's also very good at running away. Weapons aren't really his thing but he sometimes can be found playing around with a gladius.[break]
