Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Iseult was usually not the type to break any rules but some circumstances required her to - such as going to the nearest mart to buy new chocolate bars because she ran out and there weren't any available at the stores within New Rome. If they did they only carried the off-brand ones. A white plastic bag dangled down her wrist, filled with several snickers bars even though she didn't even like them and past experience let her know those weren't great weapons against monsters either.
Now, sneaking out of camp wasn't difficult, not with the chaotic Greeks running around. However, getting back in proved to be harder. The tunnel was guarded more heavily so instead she had to walk around it slightly, a more dense forest area nearby. She glanced around to make sure no one was around before confidently stepping towards the wards but instead of simply marching through them like mist she was met with what felt like a wall of stone. The unexpected change had her harshly stumble back, snickers bars spilling out of the bag and onto the ground around her.
He wanted to be whistling, but only a complete dunderhead would whistle when trying to sneak back into New Rome, and while Espen may not have made all the smartest decisions in his life, he knew he wasn't that stupid. Instead, he kept quiet as he neared the entrance to the demigod city, the comforting brush of Jett's fur against his leg as he eyed his way back in. Irritatingly, though, there seemed to have been some commotion that attracted more guards than usual, and so Espen changed tack, angling his path to the side. He'd have to go the long way around towards the woods to try and sneak back into camp, but it would have to do. A quick run of his fingers through the hellhound's fur and Jett followed him without faltering his step.
As he neared the woods, though, Espen's eyebrows drew together in a confused frown. He knew where he was - he'd done this journey a million times before. He could even hear the Little Tiber's song welcoming him home just beyond the trees, but he couldn't get near it for some reason. Was this some sort of Platform 3/4 sort of situation? But no, even an experimental extended finger did not go through what must have been the barrier: a seemingly empty space in the dark between two tree trunks. More exploring fingers yielded a solid wall that was somehow not letting him back into camp. Morrigan was going to flay him alive if he wasn't in tomorrow's morning drills, which would be in - a quick glance at his watch - four hours.
Surely the tunnel would still be fine, right? At the very least, surely the guards would see him and maybe he could tell them he couldn't get in and to please let Morrigan know this wasn't completely his fault. Shaking his head but resigned to his fate, Espen continued on towards the tunnel. The sight of someone else near the entrance made Espen cautious - the change in vibe sensed by Jett, whose hackles raised at the sight of the other person - but Espen relaxed as soon as he recognised her. It was a girl in the second cohort with a name he wasn't sure how to pronounce, but he'd always pegged her for a more rule-follower type. She seemed to have dropped something on the ground, and Espen reached for one of the objects closest to him. A Snickers bar?
"I get that," he said conversationally as he handed it back to her. "I get snacky at midnight, too." He was still looking at her and smiling conspiratorially when he made to step towards camp - only to be hit again by the solid barrier. Attention now back to his original predicament, he turned so he was facing into camp, once again testing the limits of the barrier. "What the living heck is this?"
Jax had never been one for following the rules. He was usually quite fond of testing boundaries. He liked to see just how far he could bend them before they broke. He didn't see the point in following orders like a perfect little soldier. Tonight, though, hadn't been about sneaking out and testing how cable he was. No, tonight had been vengeance for the last night he had snuck out. He had his sights set on proper debauchery but had ended up in a mortal jail cell for the first time in his life. It hadn't been interesting nor memorable and he didn't like the boring taste it had left in his mouth.
So he had snuck out of the borders again, intent on making good on his promise to himself. He had spent the first two hours in a dancing club, the next two in the previous illegal gambling bar that had been his demise before, and the past few had been in the arms of a very pretty mortal girl. Before he knew it, he was making his way back to camp.
Jax walked the familiar path back and as he neared it, a smirk played on his face as he took in the two people standing near the barrier. One had been his jail alias and the other a serious and stern rule-follower whose name he couldn't remember. "Hey geniuses, it's still curfew." Without another word or pause, he walked past them, intent on passing through the mist. Instead, the blonde smacked his entire body against an apparently invisible barrier that wasn't keen on letting him through. The blonde stumbled back, turning to the other two, "What did you two do?"
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] The magical wards felt cold under her touch, a sign that something must be wrong with it. It seemed to be reacting to her as if she was a mere mortal. Before she had a chance to explore the faulty magic a voice spoke up from close by. Immediately, her hand reached for one of the two Chinese ring daggers strapped to the belt around her waist. It hovered just above the hard hilt as she lifted her gaze to look at the dark-haired boy - another demigod.
"I don't," she said, her tone rather aloof. Iseult raised her eyebrows at him, expecting him to say more but instead he attempted to walk through the wards and failed. With a sigh, she crossed her arms over her chest. Another voice appeared out of the dark, joining the two. Iseult looked over at the blond, rolling her eyes at his comment. As expected, the daughter of Bellona thought, the two names of the boys popping up in her head because remembering names had always been easy for her. She could place them in their correct cohort as well because it was Iseult, and she knew everyone.
She watched Jax do the same mistake Espen did just a moment ago, forcing her to roll her eyes once more. Several retorts were playing on her tongue, ready to escape her lips, but she held back, biting her lower lip to keep herself from picking a fight that would only cause more trouble. The wards malfunctioning was more than enough. "Just for the record, we didn't do anything. The barrier is not letting us in either. But please, feel free to try again. With more speed and head-first this time." Iseult shrugged, her expression blank. Oops. Biting back things she shouldn't say never quite worked out anyway.
Espen knew not everyone reacted positively to his humour, which was fine as long as it didn't result in a stabbing, he supposed. So he only internally shrugged but let his joke fall flat on the ground between him and the second cohort girl. He pointedly ignored her instant response to reach for her weapons, knowing it was practically ingrained in most of the legionnaires to go for something sharp or explosive at the first sign of surprise. Espen himself wasn't one of those, though, so the familiar tones of his fellow first cohort legionnaire emerging from the shadows resulted in no reaction from Espen. Instead, Espen only smirked to himself and flourished his arm to allow Jax to attempt to go through, grin growing wider when the other legionnaire just bounced off it. Then the girl spoke from behind them and Espen couldn't help the chuckle. He had thought she'd be the quiet type - he was pleasantly surprised she had a sharp wit.
"I'll give you three tries to guess why we're on this side of the barrier, genius," Espen added, grinning at Jax, using the other boy's sarcasm against him but with no real heat. At this point, the son of Pluto felt even less concerned about getting into camp late - at least he wouldn't be the only one in trouble. Turning his attention past the barrier, Espen tried to look through the trees to see if there were any guards close by.
Jax had moved, quite confidently, past the other male as he had attempted to enter back into camp. Had he been more observant, he might have noticed how suspicious it was that his cohort mate brandished his arm forward, allowing Jax to enter the barrier first. Chivalry, it appeared, was dead after all. Jax rubbed the bridge of his nose as the girl sarcastically piped up from behind him. "Only if you demonstrate first." He gave a sarcastic grin before Espen's voice pulled his attention.
Jax sighed in annoyance, his eyes scanning over the invisible barrier. Nothing seemed amiss, nothing seemed changed. His eyes snagged on something shiny on the ground though and he leaned forward, picking it up. "I don’t have to guess what happened. I'm not the one who's going to be taking the fall for it." Jax glanced over the unopened candy bar a moment before unwrapping it, taking a bite and shrugging. "I'll let Dareios and Morrigan do the guessing. You two better get your stories straight." Jax was grinning. He, of course, had no intention of actually blaming the other two, but it was at least something to amuse himself with to pass the time until this mess got sorted out.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] Her eyes tracked the blond's every movement as he bent down and picked up one of her candy bars. Unfortunately, he was too fast and before she could jump in and snatch it out of his hands he had already opened the plastic wrapper and took a bite. "You're welcome," she grumbled, shooting him a glare before she proceeded to gather the ones that were left on the ground. "There will be no need for us to explain anything to anyone. Maybe it's just temporary." Hopefully it wasn't. She wasn't very keen on spending the night camping outside.
Lifting her head she looked up at the shimmering veil, the thin layer that kept them from returning to camp. It certainly didn't look different. Tossing all the Snicker bars except for one back into the plastic bag which had now slipped to her elbow, she took a few steps back, standing behind the boys now. Iseult then drew her free arm and threw the chocolate at the barrier above their heads. Without a sound, it bounced back as if she was playing squash. "Or maybe there's a hole to slip through. We just need to find it."
The responding sass from Jax was only met with another grin from Espen. They'd been barrack-mates for too long to genuinely insult each other. Everything had always been fun and games; Espen couldn't remember the last time he actually got mad at anyone. The son of Pluto made a move to knock the candy bar out of Jax' mouth mid-bite, deliberately allowing his aim to fall short of actually hitting it. "Yeah, I'm terrified of being caught out here," Espen replied, "actually quaking in my boots."
The third legionnaire in their company spoke, throwing one of her prized candy bars at the barrier, but unsurprisingly, it was also stopped by seemingly thin air. Espen wasn't sure what to make of her words, though - if there was a hole in the protective enchantments, that would probably be a bad thing rather than a good thing, because that would mean there was a literal hole in the camp's defenses. For the first time ever, Espen wished the magician as*hole centurion from the second cohort was on guard duty, if only because at the very least he'd try to force something to make the barriers work again. If only because he was a snob and a know it all who had to prove himself the best every time. Espen didn't like to think he held grudges against others, but a bad run in with Wolf one too many times had caused the son of Pluto to avoid the other demigod more often than not, if only to avoid getting into a fight and splitting the ground under camp.
"Hmm, I don't think there'll be a hole in the barrier," Espen answered, although he still did reach out his hands and begin running them over the surface of the magic again, testing the strength of the barrier in various places. "I trekked around from the Oakland Hills side and it was solid there, too." Questioningly, Espen turned his gaze to the tunnel, direction his question to Iseult. "Is the tunnel entrance open?"
The girl sarcastically told him that he was welcome and Jax drew his eyebrows together in confusion for just a moment before his eyes landed on the bag she was carrying. Oops. Espen moved to slap it out of his hand and Jax found himself grinning while blocking the half-hearted attempt with his elbow. "Hey. It was on the ground, that's fair game." He took another bite and held the wrapper up so he could read what exactly it was that he was eating. He had torn through a little of the wrapper logo but he could make out at least a little bit of it. "Sneakers? Who names candy after a shoe?" Mortals were weird.
Jax finished off the bar as he listened to the pair work through the issue. He tucked the wrapped in his pocket and began wiping his hands on his pants, dusting off any chocolate debris that still coated his fingers. After he was satisfied that there was none left, he looked up in time to see the girl throw a bar at the barrier. It bounced right back and as Espen asked if the Tunnel entrance was open Jax shook his head. "I didn't see any guards outside. I figured that they were probably escorting someone in but if there's an issue with the barrier they'd probably be alerting the Praetors." He couldn't remember this ever happening before, but the Greeks had brought along a whole host of issues that they had never dealt with. Something like this didn't surprise him, at least not anymore. Jax's stomach grumbled in protest and a conspiratorial grin played on his lips. "You know what was there though? A taco truck." His chin tilted slightly as he moved his eyes back and forth between the other two.
[attr="class","THREAD1CONTENT"] "I’m just suggesting ideas on how to actually fix this problem of ours. Unlike Mr. Genius over there who can’t even read. I doubt a Taco truck will get us back in or help in any way." Iseult sighed, rolling her eyes at the son of Mars. She had always wondered why she wasn’t in the first cohort, especially when looking at demigods like him. She usually respected those in the first cohort or anyone who had proven themselves to be worthy of the legion but now that she was watching these two she just… let out another sigh.
The brunette bent down to retrieve the Snickers bar that failed to breach the barrier and shoved it back into the plastic bag. At the mention of the tunnel, she thought for a moment. Her mind spinning around multiple ideas, checking if they could actually make it through without being noticed. "As for the guards… even if there are some… I mean we could always knock them out and pretend we… found them." Iseult’s eyebrows rose softly and she expected the two of them to disagree with her immediately. "No?"
