Yes. You read that right. Greece has fallen...or at least the camp that has catered to Greek demigods for over three millennia has fallen. Camp Half-Blood had a traitor in their midst. A traitor with powerful allies who quickly burned the camp to the ground. Some were lost, some killed, and the rest who remained began the long trek across the country to the only place where they might be safe: Camp Jupiter.
Chiron banded what campers they had left, told them of the other camp and sent word to Camp Jupiter pleading for shelter. Chaos now threatens the camp daily with the arrival of new Greek campers to this foreign camp. This camp with strange customs and rules. While on the Roman end the Praetors are forced to hold up a balancing act of providing sanctuary while also trying to find the traitor before their home suffers the same fate as Camp Half-Blood.
New alliances are forged, new enemies are made, and these two worlds have to find some way to work together for the future of them all. Which side are you on? Which position will you take? It's time to jump in the fray because Greece has fallen.

She had held his hand as they stood at the Doors of Death, him, wondering if his father was going to allow him to leave. Though all he cared about in that moment was HER getting out. If he did or didn't was of no matter to him. All that mattered was Morrigan getting out, getting back to her life. They were connected, he knew that from the moment he realized the lines on their palms had matched so very perfectly. It had told him more than he ever would have guessed. Their fates were intertwined, he was meant to meet her. He was meant to find her in the Underworld, that was why thee lines were interesected. It had to be. Their fates were wrapped up together, he was so sure of it.
Standing there with her, he made the promise. They would step through together. One last kiss and they stepped through. He blinked at the bright light and realized his hand was empty. She was gone, and he stood in the middle of a field of ash and ruin. He had ended up back in the last place he had been before he travelled to the underworld. " No...no...gods no.." he looked around the fields, it was clear that camp had been abandoned, and of course it had been, Morrigan had told him it had been a month. A month gone, and no one had tried to rebuild. They really had all gone to Camp Jupiter. He sighed and looked around for a bit, trying to find anything he could scavange, but there wasn't much. Thank the gods he had his backpack with supplies, but it was going to be hard to get to Camp Jupiter without help, or his powers.
He had made it though, and was exhausted as he made it into the camp grounds, looking around for a moment he could hear the sounds of people and headed that direction. There was a low glow of light, and he headed there thinking maybe it was a camp fire but as he neared the area he realized that wasn't it at all. There were dozens upon dozens of paper lanterns, and they were slowly being released. He saw a few of his friends who looked over joyed to see him. Seraphime had given him a big hug, and he had been a bit shocked at that, but after he left her side he kept searching for who he was looking for.
Then he spotted her, the beautiful, golden blonde hair glowing in the light of the lantern she was releasing. He moved quickly to her and just in time to see his name written on the tag as she released it. " I made a promise to you, together remember?" he waited for her to turn to him and ran his hands over her cheeks, one tucking a strand of her hair behind her ears. " I intended to make good on that promise Morrigan." not caring that people were watching, he searched her eyes for a moment before leaning in to kiss her.
Morrigan felt numb. Since she had awoken in the infirmary without him she felt as if a part of her had died. A part that she hadn't known had even been there. Almost as if someone gave her a puzzle piece that had been missing. A piece that made her feel alive for the first time. A piece that made her feel happy, understood, and quite possibly even loved. A piece that had begun to feel like home. Then it was taken from her. Taken before she could do anything about it. Ripped from her as cruelly and quickly as it had been bestowed.
The accidental stabbing hadn't left any permanent damage, other than a scar that now graced her abdomen. Physically she was fine. She wished the emotional damage had been as easy of a fix. She had jumped into her work, not allowing any downtime. The Olympics had needed her attention and she had been happy to dive in. Happy to think about anything other than the hole in her chest.
The day passed by with nothing important to note. She had oversaw what competitions she could. Had checked on the guard rotations and given a small speech. The day had been a success, she supposed. There were no casualties which was always a win. It had gone by uneventful enough and she had managed. Then the lantern ceremony commenced. She had taken one and written his name on it. She didn't want to let it go. It was a stupid thought, she knew that. Holding onto a lantern or letting it go made no difference. He was gone and he would remain gone. Yet she found it hard to let go. She didn't want to release his name and watch it leave her all over again.
Morrigan said a silent prayer for him. The rest of the lanterns rising into the air. She stared at the name once, then twice more. Slowly she let it go, wiping the tears off her face.
"I made a promise to you, together remember?"
Morrigan was certain her heart stopped. She turned in shock to see him. Donovan. Standing in front of her, those blue eyes meeting hers. He touched her cheek and the shock gave way to a happiness, relief washing over her. Her name came out of his lips and she swore she had never heard anything more perfect. Before she could say anything he kissed her.
She put her hands around his neck, returning the kiss. The world had vanished. Even after the kiss ended her arms remained around his neck, unwilling to let him go, wholly unaware of anyone around them anymore. "How? Where did you go? I woke up without you and thought for sure your father had decided to keep you."
There were very few times in his life that Donovan had broken a promise, and he was not about to start with Morrigan. She had been brought into his life at a time where he felt hopeless. As if he might never truly feel happy again, and that was saying something. He had saved her as best he could, helped her back to this realm, and he had never thought that he would be able to get back himself until she had shown up. The world was so much brighter with her in it, and it was something that he never expected to have.
Donovan had lived in darkness for so long, his whole world was just that. His father was Death, his mother was gone, and he was very alone. He expected that he would have a short lifespan, he was a demigod after all, but now. Well, now he wanted to live. He wanted to make sure that he made it through, and maybe some day he could have more. For now, he had done all he could to get back to her, to prove to her that he had kept his promise to her. Show her that she could trust him, that he would always come for her
He held her close, not caring if anyone else was watching, sure as Hades not caring what anyone thought. He took a deep breath, taking in the smell of her hair, the feeling of her skin, every ounce of the moment with her. Her questions clearly needed answers and he had to think for a moment. " How? I'm not sure. I think what happened is that when I stepped through the doors with you it took us both to the last places we were. I ended up back at Camp Half Blood...it was...well, it was quite a shock to see it the way it is now. It's all ash. It's horrible to see it that way, to see the trees all dead, the cabins either completely gone or crumbling. All of it just, destroyed."
He took another deep breath, " I am sorry. I didn't want to scare you or worry you. I came as fast as I could. I could probably sleep for a hundred years with all the shadow travelling I had to do to get to you, but I would do it again in a heart beat." he ran his hand over her cheek again. " Are you alright though? I was really worried that it might not have worked when I realized you weren't with me."
Morrigan felt his arms around her. His body solidly and steadily there against her. Since she had woken up, life seemed to have changed for her. She had gone from not needing anyone or anything in this world to finding someone who completed her in a way that she had never thought possible. He had shown up and saved her from the depths of the underworld. He had broken down her walls, melted the ice that she had around her heart and stepped in, filling a void that had been there wholly. Then she had woken up without him and life had not been the same. Her heart had been broken in a way that she hadn't known was even possible.
Now he was here, in the land of the living, holding her close. Life changing again. If this was a dream she could only pray that she never woke up. It wasn't though. She could hear the sound of others around them. She could see the soft glow of lanterns in the sky behind him. She knew there was a million things around them, but nothing that could pull her attention from him.
She listened silently as he answered her question. It made sense. She should have guessed that. She had woken up exactly where she had last been, it only made sense that he did the same. She hadn't been able to think that rationally while he had been missing though. Morrigan laid her head against his chest, her palm softly lying flat against his chest, over his heart. "I'm so sorry. Though, if it's any consolation, the most recent reports seem to be that the majority of your campers have made it here safely."
He apologized to her and Morrigan looked up at him in confusion. "You have nothing to be sorry for." He had rescued her from spending a literal eternity in the underworld. He had nothing to apologize to her about. His hand moved to caress her cheek and she closed her eyes, relishing his touch on her. He asked how she was feeling and Morrigan opened her eyes, a soft smile on her lips. "I'm perfectly fine. Medics cleared me that day." She put her hand in his, "Come on, let's go get you some food and a comfortable bed. Do you need a medic?" Her eyes scanned over him briefly, looking for any wounds that might need tending to that he hadn't mentioned. She didn't see anything outright, but that doesn't mean there weren't any.
She tugged his arm gently, beginning to walk towards the Principia. She and Dareios never said word to one another if there had been an occasional guest in their barracks. A mutual respect and privacy between the two. Of course, neither had brought back a Greek before. She didn't worry over it too much though. Donovan was the reason she was even able to walk in Camp again, he could sleep in her bed that night and she'd fight anyone who dared challenge it. "The Principia isn't far and I can ask a messenger to get food once we get you inside."
She lay her head against him and he closed his eyes for a moment, resting his head on top of hers as she placed her hand over his heart. He was memorizing the scent, the way her hair smelled was soothing him, making his frazzled nerves calm. He took a deep breath, just letting it all go, his eyes turned up to the heavens above them, watching all the lanterns as they floated away into the world away from their own. It was quite a beautiful sight, and he was so glad he had made it in time to see it.
" That does make things a little better. I have to admit, with how many I saw in the Underworld I was afraid that more would have crossed that way. I'm glad they made it here. Probably a little easier than I did, but as long as they made it that's what matters." he bit his lip, " Im rambling aren't I? Sorry I just....I'm so happy to see you Morrigan. I was convinced that I might never make it here." He felt like he was being a downer and this was a great reunion, he had missed her, more than he maybe should have.
Their time together in the underworld had opened him up to things he never expected. It was like the cage he had around his heart had been forcefully ripped open, and he had not a single complaint about that. " Just glad you are ok. I was really afraid that something might have happened, but clearly, you are healthy and beautiful as ever." his cheeks flushed scarlet and he gave her a little nervous smile. It was hard to believe that they had not met long ago, because the connection he felt to her was so strong. She had this pull on him that he had no idea how to explain other than magnetism of some kind.
He had no idea how hungry he was until she mentioned food and his stomach growled. " That sounds like a great idea. Though I don't like the idea of being away from you." he admitted softly. They had been apart for long enough in his mind. " No , I think I'm alright. A few scrapes and bruises, but I made it ok." He took her hand as she tugged at his arm, " The Principa?" he tilted his head at her, confused. " What is that?" he didn't know as much about the Roman culture as he might like. " Is that where the other Greeks are staying or?" he didn't want t leave her side though, the idea of being shoved in with the rest of his former camp was not that appealing at the moment. He didn't want to say goodbye to her after they ate.
Donovan put his head on hers and she was certain she had never felt this at peace in her entire life. She had never let anyone get this close to her, physically nor emotionally. Sure, physically, she had letting the opposite six get close to her in a literal sense, but it was nothing like this. It was open and unguarded. It was a certain level of vulnerable that she had thus far never allowed herself to come near. She couldn't help it though. It was done. As if it had always been destined to happen. She hated thinking in terms like that, but there was no other explanation for it all.
She listened quietly as he spoke about camp and as he bit his lip, commenting that he was rambling she gave a soft laugh, "You can ramble as long as you'd like. We have nothing but time." She let the thought sink in to her own stubborn head. They were not immortal beings, but there was no threat of being stuck in the underworld too long. There was no deadly force that was constantly trying to keep them in its cold grip. They were safe, at least relatively speaking.
He called her beautiful and a humorless small laugh came out of her lips, her cheeks immediately beginning to get warm. That hadn't exactly been something that she heard a lot of around here. She hadn't even considered it a thing in regards to herself. She was a soldier. She was a fighter. She was not a simpering child of Venus who preened herself all day long. She playfully gave him a soft push with her hand, "You can't say things like that here."
The two had begun to walk together, still firmly holding onto his hand. She didn't glance to her left or right though she could feel the sea of eyes that were upon them. She couldn't blame them of course. She had never showed any sort of openness with anyone and yet here she was clutching hands and kissing a stranger. A Greek stranger at that. Let them think what they wanted, let them say what they wanted, she didn't care.
Donovan spoke about not wanting to leave her and she glanced over, a small smirk on her lips, "Who says you will be?" Morrigan was thankful that he didn't require medical attention. She didn't like the unfamiliar pressure in her chest that came about when she had thought that he might need one. The idea of him harmed unsettled her more than she was comfortable admitting. She managed a nod as they walked along.
When he asked what the Principia was, a small smile came to her lips. Her poor Graecus boy was very much not in his element. As he asked if that was where the other Greeks were staying at Morrigan paused, the heat in her cheeks now radiating. "No, it's where the Praetors, Dareios and I, work and sleep. Where we live I guess you could say. I .. It's kind of second nature to go there, sorry." The blonde tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, the sheer idea of embarrassment being a foreign feeling that she did not enjoy. Of course he would want to stay with his friends and his family that he had been missing from. She had made an assumption that she was the only one who wouldn't want him to leave her sight and that had clearly been an error. She hadn't even put his feelings into consideration. "I can show you to where the Greeks are staying. We can stop at the Mess Hall first though. We'll pass right by it." She tried recovering with a cool and collected smile.
Donovan felt like the luckiest man in the world. Morrigan was beautiful, but there was so much more to her. She was so powerful, so intelligent, clear headed, just, all around amazing. He could think of nothing but her from the moment they had crossed paths, and he assumed that was not going to change any time soon. " Nothing but time, that is a new concept for us isn't it?" he smiled at her and ran his hand though her long, blonde curls. She was so intoxicating, and he needed her, in every aspect of the word.
His face fell slightly as she said he couldn't say that. He looked down and pursed his lips before looking back up at her, " I am sorry Morrigan, I don't want to make you embarassed or something." he glanced around, realizing that this was her domain, and things were going to be very different for them than they were in his father's world. He had to be understanding of that, she was Praetor and she had a whole lot of responsibilities and a reputation to keep. He was a greek, the son of death for that matter, and not exactly the greatest asset for her to have on her arm.
Though her words made him second guess that. She wanted him to stay with her? " Are...are you serious? You want me to stay?" he was nervous at the idea of it, but also wanted nothing more than that. " I don't want to then. Don't make me leave your side, don't send me away." he swallowed hard, his blue eyes on hers. She was the world to him, and she probably didn't even realize that.
Ah he had screwed up. Made her think the exact opposite of what he had meant. " Wait....wait Mor please." he stopped in his tracks and placed his hands on both of her arms, his eyes connecting with hers, " That's not what I want at all. I want nothing of the sort. I want to stay with you. As long as you will allow me to. I don't want to go to the Greek's cabin or wherever you are keeping them. I want to be where you are. I don't feel right when you aren't there. Ever since the Underworld I feel like our life lines are connected." he held his palm up where they had realized their love and life lines matched. " Morrigan, I really care about you, more than maybe I should at this point, but it's true. PLease don't think that I wanted to leave you." he ran his hands over the sides of her face. " All I want right now is time with you."
Morrigan's smile turned into a grin when he commented about the time they had. It was a good feeling. More than a good feeling truthfully, but it was still all so new. There was so much that had changed and she was still trying to find her footing. A fact that was glaringly obvious as Donovan apologized to her. She shook her head, "Oh. No, you didn't, you couldn't embarrass me. That's just something that doesn’t exactly get said a lot around me." Halfway because she was Praetor and the other half she had always assumed because she had been very keen on shocking someone who didn't toe the line. She didn't mind it coming from his lips though.
Donovan asked if she wanted him to stay and she laughed lightly. "Of course." She had turned, expecting to see him grinning as well. It hadn't been a joke that she had, but she had said it with a mostly humorous tone. Instead, as she had turned back to give him a smile, her eyes were met with his serious face. His words piercing her heart in a way that was just as deadly as it was welcomed. She met his eyes, "I won't." At least not tonight. She didn't let herself think further than that. The weight and responsibilities of her position, all of that would have to be addressed, but tonight wasn't the night.
She had been prepared to show him to the Greek bunks then, her face burning with heat. She had never been good at this. Then he said her name shortened. Mor. A little turn of phrase that she had never liked before. Coming from his lips, however, her heart softened. Donovan paused, gently pulling her hand back, urging her to stop.
She turned to face him, his hands moving on either side of her. She looked into his eyes, blue meeting blue. She didn't have the words to reply. Her heart overwhelmed. "I want that too. All of it." Donovan held his hand up to her and she put her hand against his, palm to palm. "I don't know how we're going to work in this place, but I know that we can and I'm willing to fight for it."
Donovan's hand caressed her cheek and she closed her eyes for a moment, listening to him speak. She hadn't thought she would hear his voice again. At least not on this side of the Underworld. But he was here, with her. The two of them in the place that she called home. "Let's pretend tomorrow isn't coming. Just for tonight. In the morning we can sort out where we belong in all of this, but can we just let ourselves enjoy tonight?" Her eyes met his again, wanting to take off the role of Praetor just for one night with him.
